Do you mind if I ask what you had done? I thought you couldn't use your HSA to pay for ps. I've been thinking about my options, I still have plenty of time but my surgeon told me ill need skin removal on my abdomen beforeI even had surgery and I was thinking about looking into a Tummy Tuck at the same time.

I forgot to write yesterday, so thought I'd post a quick update before the family wakes up! Not too mucin new to report! Still feeling great. Spent most of yesterday cleaning and packing (but within the limits of my recovery restrictions! NO lifting!). I actually didn't take any pain meds yesterday, except for the Celebrex prescribed by my surgeon (I take twice daily). I started the silicone scar strips on my front and side incisions. They aren't hard to use, and are super sticky on the skin side, so they stay in place even with all the moving around. It's still comforting to have something on my incisions, so I like the scar strips!
My daughter wanted to have a camp out in the living room, so we did! I'm loving all this time with her. I usually work 40 hrs a week, so having this time with her during recovery has been an extra blessing. We watched a movie, ate popcorn, and made ice cream sundaes. It was great. We both ended up sleeping on the couch (one at each end) which was slightly less than comfortable, but still better than my first night on the couch after surgery, lol!
I'll update again later. I'll weight myself and take measurements tomorrow since I'll be 2 weeks post op!
    Have a great day!

I'm so thankful for this site to be able to hear about everyone else's progress and experiences. It has definitely helped me though a lot of times especially in the first couple of weeks after surgery. I'm just over 2 months out from my surgery. I have those moments when I wonder if I've made enough progress or if I'm not doing well enough. There's no real guidebook to having weight loss surgery. I keep reminding myself to look at the positive changes since surgery. Yesterday I had an exciting NSV when I got to buy a plain XL shirt and some skinny jeans. Those moments are so exciting and always seem to catch me by surprise. I find a lot of times I don't really see the changes in my body when I look in the mirror. Looking at pictures makes a big difference. I have my first set of progress pics attached.

The picture on the right was just taken in December 2016. I was wearing a size 24 pant and 3XL shirt.

I vote for Unjury as well. Not as tasty as Premier Protein but less calories and sugar. My stomach started feeling better once I was allowed dense Protein.

It really wasn't until week 3 I was feeling like myself. I did go back to work that week. As soon as you get back to your normal routine hopefully you'll feel better.

Sleeved May 24. I felt normal again right at the one month mark when I was allowed to eat chicken, veggies, and fruit (very limited). I'm still taking prilosec twice a day and gas X.

I was sleeved 6/13 so it's been about 12 days ago for me. I totally understand your pain and I ask myself that as well. When will I feel "normal" I think for me it's the ability to eat most "normal foods" and also I would agree the chest pressure/ cramps that sometimes are occurring for me going away would be a good help as well!

80 Pounds lost thanks to VSG! My confidence is back, I even interviewed for a new job which it looks like I will get (I truly believe I never could have interviewed anywhere at my heaviest weight)...
Yes, it takes effort daily, but then again, doesn't everything in life? plan + effort = SUCCESS!!!

I absolutely understand. I was experiencing the exact same thing you are experiencing and I swear, that chili made all the difference. I am not nauseous anymore, and when I start feeling like my stomach is unhappy all I do is put a little bit of salt in the back of my hand and just lick it and that gets rid of any funny feelings. Try it! It might work!

Thanks my nut made it sound like after week 2 when I start soft foods I should try to meet my Protein goal. Maybe I'll let my body decide how much and what to eat.

So I started my period just after surgery even though it wasn't due. The nurse told me that this surgery makes almost everyone start their period. Then when I talked to one of the nurses I work with who used to work on the floor with post op bariatric pts and she told me the same thing, her exact words were, "that surgery makes everyone start their period, even the men lol"

You may want to see a doctor to make sure the shortness of breath is related to weight verses something related to your heart or lungs. But definitely back to the basics should help and it sounds like the biggest issue would be the grazing.

I'm going to check out that book. We just did the same thing cancelled all credit cards but when I go to a store that I had a card at I feel this little sadness that I can't just use my card. But I would really over spend when I had them. Maybe this book will help me cope.

I'm glad you posted this. I'm 3 weeks post op today and not very hungry yet but my nut told me I need to focus on meals and teaching my protein goal. Sometimes I'm taking nausea meds just to try to get something more in between meals. I certainly don't want my hair to fall out or lose muscle but I'm not a big meat eater, I was even vegetarian for a few years and an getting real sick of meat, the Protein Shakes seem too "milky". IDK. I think I just need a little more time to adjust. I'm afraid that whenI go for 6 wk appt she's going to be upset that I didn't meet my goals. I don't think I met these protein and fluid goals before surgery though either.

Good luck with your journey. I'll be 3 weeks post op tomorrow. I'm glad I had the sleeve. I regretted the first week, I had horrible sharp gas pain in my shoulder. I've felt a little better every day. There seems to be alot of informative info on this app.
