Sleeveforme2017 reacted to facebro29 in NSV [emoji322][emoji322]
So I'm trying to forget about the numbers on the scale for the moment. Despite losing 94lbs in 8 months I'm still disappointed with the number but oh well.
I'm concentrating on NSV
Able to comfortably sit in an airplane seat - no seat beat extension
Able to comfortably wear a pair of heels YES!!
Gone from a size 26 to 16 which I never ever though I'd get here again
Exercising loads and my stamina has risen beyond expectation
Able to do a 45seconds plank which is a huge achievement for me
Last but not least ABLE TO CROSS MY LEGS!!!!! OMG I've never been able to do this but now my legs naturally want to cross
So don't beat yourself up about the numbers. Look and be happy with those NSV!!

I was asked yesterday by male coworker " I bet your husband is happy now!" I told him I don't give a "F" what a man thinks about my new figure if you didn't like me when I was heavy don't "F" with me now that I'm thinner. That shut him down real quick!

I better not hear anyone tell me I took the easy way out. As hard as it it's to drink a Protein shake while your family enjoys a decent meal. And I'm enduring this pre op. I might would curse. I don't think surgery in any aspect is the easy way out.

Ok guys, today is my day one ""getting back on track".
I did pretty well.
breakfast:1 boiled egg and three strips of bacon
lunch: an unwich from jimmy johns (turkey lunch meat, veggies wrapped In lettuce w/easy mayo & hot peppers)
dinner: baked chicken breast w/ brussel sprouts
my not so good item: iced Carmel coffee from dunkin donuts & watermelon.
i also ran 2 miles on the treadmill.
Goal this week: workout 4 days and reduce my iced coffee intake.

"Dont loose too much"
"How much can you eat now"
"Do you feel weak"
"You look old"
And the most annoying
"I liked the way you looked before surgery"

Don't tell them. It's no ones business. I was off 3 weeks just said I had hiatal hernia surgery which I did have along with my sleeve. When I came back with 20lb weight lost
I said I had to be on liquids for weeks and now having to change my diet. Most of my
Friends and family don't know. People tend to judge wls and I don't have time for that in my journey.

I've told my family but only a handful of friends. I regret telling two friends. One of them tells everyone she sees that I had it done and we know a lot of the same people. She even said 'have you ever just tried dieting?' I almost burst out laughing. If you tell people, be prepared to be interrogated. Now half of my world knows so I just tell everyone. It requires a lot of educational discussions due to the ignorance on the subject.

If you aren't close to them, why tell them?
Do you share all your other medical decisions with them?
This kind of stuff shouldn't even be discussed in the workplace anyway.

Sleeveforme2017 reacted to 2ndSpring in Sharing with coworkers??
I chose to keep it private. I am proud that I had the surgery, but I know myself and I know it would get under my skin when people have to voice their opinions even though they are not educated on the topic. Like this....I knew someone who had the surgery and they gained it all back...or... weight loss is all about calories in vs calories out, have you tried dieting. grrrr... Or the people who will monitor you from now on..... are you allowed to eat that?

Sleeveforme2017 reacted to Dashofpixiedust8 in HOP INTO SPRING CHALLENGE!!
My weigh in this week is 281 So I'm up from last week and I didn't reach my goal BUT I'm down 20.4 pounds overall which I'm SUPER proud of!
I know what happened this week. I stress ate. My boyfriend and I broke up AND I have surgery on Monday. Then I got the flu this week which threatened my surgery actually happening but THANKFULLY they are going forward with it as I'm doing better!
I know I need to stop using food as comfort and I've done really well with it but honestly....this week sucked!!
Not an excuse just a statement.
Back on the wagon I go!

Buy Quest chips and keep them in your desk at work. You can eat those when everyone else is eating regular chips. They are 130 calories, 20g of Protein, and 2 net carbs.
