jensrdy593 reacted to darnlochnessmonster in April 2017 sleevers how's it going?
I was sleeved on 4/26 and just had my 4-6 week check-up yesterday. I was cleared for exercise and got the next part of my diet. Things are going pretty well! For about two weeks in the middle I had a nasty pain near one of my incisions then *poof* it just disappeared one night. I still don't have a BM more frequently than once a week, but now that I can work in more fruits and veggies I'm hoping that will improve Overall, things are lookin good.
To the poster above, best of luck to you and your mom.

I listen to my stomach and it slows me right down. I had sleeve surgery a little over 2 weeks ago. I'm in the mushy/pureed "food" stage. After a few spoonfuls of whatever I choose, I start to get a tad bit nauseous and I push the plate away and Will Not eat anything else and that feeling goes away after 30 minutes. I don't want to vomit or add to my discomfort...so, I just stop, drop, and roll...I know when enough is enough right now!

i am at 8 weeks as well and eat about 3-4 bites tops of most things . I have one Protein Shake and try to eat Protein throughout the day in small meals . cheese, chicken, yogurt, Peanut Butter, hummus more meat etc along with Water . Theres the medical way and then there is the way that suits u and lifestyle ,consider doing 5-6 smaller meals for a day i think its easier then .

I'm cleared for a regular diet now but when I was going through my steps I stuck to my NUTs nutrition plan. However now there is not anything I don't eat. If I want a taste of something, I take it. I stick to Protein rich food first but I don't deny myself. Yesterday was my birthday, I had two bites of a cupcake and I didn't hate myself for it but I also don't eat sweets on a regular basis anymore.

There is nothing off my diet either, the doc said I have no restrictions, even alcohol. But that my diet needs to be Protein focused and Water heavy. lol! So I have a bite of stuff now and then but in general I'm pretty full and satisfied with my homemade low carb high protein meals.

No we can't poppybelle12, we certainly can't turn back now. Pstarf stop with the exercising and focus on one thing, yesterday I was up at 7 drinking Water , I focused on getting it in today I tried the same and getting the Protein Shakes as well. Cut yourself some slack the body is loosing at least 1-2 pounds daily now adding exercise will only deplete what you are building up....in a few weeks we will be full blown gym rats

Do not worry, I lost 11 pounds as well on 2 weeks liquid diet and the doctor said it is good. After the surgery I was losing 2-3 pounds a day, when I moved to the purée stage, weight loss went down, was losing 1 pound a day. Overall for 3.5 months I lost 44 pounds.

Thanks to you all. It is so helpful to realize that I am not the only one going through this. I am thankful that I am not eating between meals and only eating what I love at meal times. I am lucky that sweets are not my failing as such. I suppose I have been struggling with food and trying to be a good Weight Watcher for so many years. All those years of trying to avoid things like Pasta and brownies and now I can see the end in sight my head has gone "You may as well have them now as it won't happen again for a long time, if ever again".
Thank you for those that commented about the possibility of weight gain meaning a delay in the surgery. That really got my attention and made me realize the damage I could do. Time to get it all together - yet again.

I thought about doing this but my surgeon flat out stated that of I was even 1pound above my goal weight the day of surgery, he will cancel it. I'm not taking any chances. My only suggestion would be to be smart about. Keep the treat to one meal, like if you want Wild Wings have it for lunch but keep the rest of your meals healthy. Do that for every treat until you get it out of your system.

I started getting back on board today. I drank 70 oz of Water and I have yet to stop going to the bathroom. It is insane how hungry I do not feel because I am eating the right foods and drinking tons of Water. I noticed that the only times I thought I was hungry was when I was around junk food. It was hard to say no but I did. I am very proud. I hope to keep this up

The advice my dr gave me was sip, sip, sip. Whenever I have a free moment sip, always have a bottle with me, sip on tea, coffee, diet cordial.

YOU CAN DO IT! We can do it together! I am only 1 week in and in terrible pain, but we can't turn back now! We can do this!! We can help each other lose the weight and sip sip sip.
I have a cup in the kitchen, bedroom and lounge rooms, so everywhere I go I can pick up a cup and sip.

Those chewable vitamins I can't stand! I am good at popping pills can't wait to down the hatch as opposed to chewing and tasting that sweetness and using Water to crush them! Oh shoot me now!!!!!! Today I literally had 3 bottles of water 48 oz , I felt like I had won the Super Bowl! ( it's the small things) but only one bottle of Protein ( wonk wonk)..... I don't plan on exercising till about 2 months when I have enough energy to go. I believe it is all temporary otherwise I want the rest of my stomach back!!!

That's far-fetched "all the glory overshadow the people that are hurting, dying, in, and out of the hospital". The hospital I had my sleeve done has ZERO fatalities. And this is surgery, what do you expect? There are always risks to going under the knife. And your comment about divorcing? That's why you make sure you have supportive people around you. If someone divorces you for this, they didn't hold their vow to stay with you through thick & thin. You're over generalizing.

I am about 3 weeks post op and still go through the gammet of emotions about whether I made the right decision. I think the biggest thing is that you mourn the loss of food. Food was your friend, so you thought. It's still frustrating to me every day when I sit down to eat a meal and am enjoying the sensation of eating that I am only able to eat a few bites of it before my sleeve tells me, okay you're full, stop eating. There is no pushing through that full feeling like before. When you are full, you are full! Things like that are frustrating but then there are times that I realize I have this unbelievable tool that I never had that that self disciplined me to eat a controlled amount when in the past I just ate what I wanted to and had to rely on discipline. It is very rewarding watching the pounds fall off and seeing the person you dreamed of slowly start to emerge. So you see, there is a full array of emotions in play. Not sure when the roller coaster will end.
