newimage2017 got a reaction from newmein2017 in 2 Week Post Op Stall
Hang in there, the stalls are common. Continue good eating habits and excerise and the stall will break. I know it's frustrating right now. I have the same issue, I was on a stall for two weeks, all of the sudden I lost 6 pounds. Stay positive

You are an inspiration. I'm post op sleeve 1 week. Thank you for posting this. Sometimes I feel alone on this journey because people are quick to criticize your decision. I often keep my success and pitfalls to a small circle of people. It's so true... it's like losing a best friend. Sometimes I feel moody because I can't eat what I use to. This is truly not easy, forums like these helps to cope with the drastic change and to see inspirations like you and find comfort in knowing that weight loss is a journey and success comes in many shapes. Thank you again for the inspiration. You look great. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Hello everyone! I am 10 days post op and I can tell you that my therapist and support group have been an integral part of recovery thus far. I used to say, "I will be ok as I don't think I have much of a food addiction " ... I was so wrong.
The first few days have been so rough bc all I am left is with...myself! As my therapist put it and it's a tough place to be at. Not being able to go to food, alcohol, or shopping has been something that has made me look into myself and listen to myself.
I have a long road ahead but I am so grateful to have a network of support and feel I am not alone. I don't know how people do this without support of a professional or some type of group.
    Good luck all!

I started my weight loss journey with the gastric sleeve on August 3, 2016. I have hit several stalls along the way, but I have embraced them for what they are. Never let anyone tell you that you are taking the easy way out!! It is by no means EASY! It is painful because you have a major operation, you mourn the loss of your best friend, food, and you experience different side effects like malnutrition (in the beginning), Constipation, and being cold all the time. But I would do it all over again to feel as amazing as I do now!!!!

I appreciate the suggestions. I will be trying them. It is completely understandable that with a lower starting weight I will lose slower. I can take constructive criticism but the comment saying "these post are getting more and more ridiculous" was totally uncalled for.

Hang in there. Everyone's weight lost rate is different. Are you writing everything down in a journal? Are you walking? Don't feel defeated. Maybe some modifications in what you are doing is needed to jump start the metabolism. I have heard this from one of my friends, she had the same issue. She kept at it. Changed up her exercise routine and increased her Water intake.

I'm post post op a week. I stayed two nights. I understand one to two nights is standard, but some stay longer if there are issues or need more observation.

I highly recommend the patch MD multi Vitamins and the B-12 Patches. I cannot handle oral Vitamins either.

I have literally been sick since surgery (12/23) I had dropped 12lbs but I felt like I couldn't be happy about it because I just felt so bad... with every swallow of ANYTHING ... after reading some things on here I switched to bone broths because they offer a lot more Protein and different flavors, and that seemed to help some but what really changed it around for me! Is when my friend suggested I went to drip doctors and see if I could get an IV .. so I went I passed on the IV but I got some Vitamin shots (because I have not been able to take the chewable ones) and literally changed the rest of my day and how I was feeling! I finally felt some relief ! And was able to get two Protein shakes in today instead of just half for a whole day!! Totally recommend people researching this in your area!

First of all, stop worrying. Worrying makes things worst.
Second of all, start by planning what you can eat and would prefer to eat (as each person's likes and dislikes towards certain food changes after the surgery.
    1. Create a diet chart.
    2. Start cooking for yourself. Start with small salads and Soups. They are easy, healthy and delicious.
    3. If you do not have time during weekdays, cook during weekends and store it in the fridge, so that you can heat and eat during weekdays.
    4. Stay positive.
    5. Do not bring in any negativity between your spouse and yourself. She cooks fried food, smile and say 'it is okay', 'I can cook something or eat something that is already there in the fridge'.
In my opinion, it is not the surgery that makes you 100% healthy, it is 'you', 'your positive thinking towards a better lifestyle' that helps you in the long run. So instead of feeling bad or worried, cook for yourself. Trust me it is one of the best things to do for oneself. If you are cooking for the first time, try with simple Soups and salads. Take responsibility for your life and well-being .
