I was in the same boat. I wanted it to come off faster. Hang in there and keep it up, it’ll come off. The sleeve is a slower weight loss method b/c we don’t have the malnutrition aspect (rerouting intestines). Keep up proper diet and drinking 64oz Water daily. It’ll come off.

Cheri! Thank you so much...your feedback and reassurance means a lot to me! It's so easy to get defeated and feel like you're not keeping up with the norm

My weight on surgery day was 242. I lost 11 pounds my first month and averaged 6 pounds a month after that, when I didn't stall.
Because you had a preop, you won't see the massive drop some people see in the first month, though I would argue you still had a significant loss.
Slow loss is still loss. Try not to focus on the rate of loss. It's hard, because you're making drastic changes to your lifestyle. But your body is going to lose at it's own pace. Stair steps down with landings you rest on for a while - that's what a sleeve is like. Fits and starts and stalls. Focus more on changing your habits and behaviors - things you can control - because that's what's going to keep you at goal for good.
Congrats on your new sleeve and your loss so far. You're doing great.

    Hi all-
I have a quick question. I am nine weeks out. Starting weight 255, surgery weight 243, current weight 217. I lost 12 lbs on two week pre-surgery diet. Lost 16 lbs post surgery. And lost 8 lbs second month. I feel like this is slow but I wanted to hear feedback from you all if possible?

I was sleeved June 5th, so i am on my 10th week this week. The first two weeks i lost 18 lbs but the 8 weeks since then have been ssslllloooowwwww! I go between 30-32 lbs down. Eating is kind of like torture.. I am lucky if I get 4oz a meal, then i get really full and uncomfortable. I guess I am doing something wrong... probably because I am not exercising. After work I have no energy - but I try to walk as much as I can. I get my Vitamins in because i have the patch so it is easy for me. I do pretty good with my Protein intake but Water isnt as easy. Just very discouraged these days when you see no results AND cant eat... oh.. starting weight 244 current weight 214

goshesgaunt reacted to Berry78 in Wondering how many pounds lost means a smaller size.
    My rules of thumb:
Weight between 300-400: size changes every 50lbs
    200-300: every 25lbs
    150-200: every 15lbs
    below 150: every 5-10lbs
This is a rough estimate, but shows the concept. It also explains how skinny people complain about gaining 5 or 10lbs, when heavy people can gain 50lbs and barely notice.

It's not fun and doesn't feel fast enough. Try other distractions to take your mind off the wt loss.

Don't get me wrong I am happy with what I have lost so far! It's just I know a few people who had the sleeve and who have lost more so idk if I should be as well and I worry about why I am gaining weight back and finding it harder to loose them again, when I do everything the doctor told me to do granted the Water intake has been hard for me I definitely struggle with it and I am worried I will gain those few pounds back this is all new to me so this is why I got on here thanks

I gain back 1 to 3 lbs then they come off but I feel like I am stuck today I feel bloated scared to get back on the scale[emoji30]

Hey everyone! Sleeved June 8, down 29 lbs. The last 2 weeks have been slow going, but still moving in the right direction, so I'm not too worried.

I had surgery 6/29 and have been doing very well. Can drink fine. Can finish a whole Protein Shake in a half hour. But, darn I'm hungry. I cannot stop thinking of things I'd like to eat. I imagine myself taking bites of the foods. Facebook and commercials are killing me. Is anyone else extremely hungry? I mean, I've even thought - for half a second- what would happen if I took a bite of that cheese in the fridge. . Now, of course I won't.....but I thought it!

I wasn't given any calorie guidelines just Protein and Water. I am supposed to get 65-80g protein and 64oz of water. I am 10 days post op and I hit 500 calories today.

Had my post op check up and got cleared for everything! Eating, exercise, swimming! I can't believe I had surgery sometimes! I am so happy to have had this done. Went through my closet and got rid of two bags of clothes! Down 31 lbs and already my optimism and confidence are up.
I have so much hope now. It's amazing.
    Happy Independence Day everyone!! [emoji95][emoji562][emoji631]

My surgeon said I could have 1 cup of coffee or tea a day starting the day after surgery. I'm 10 weeks out and drink a cup of coffee a day with no problems.
