I will make sure I follow up again tomorrow. Thank you!! My kids all think I cook better now. Lol. I think I'm cooking for the smell. I have done really well until this afternoon. It was 2 small Bugles and one tiny pretzel...I sucked on them quite a bit- pretty darned mushy! I understand that was a bad move I'm glad I asked. Thank you!! Hi! I was sleeved on 11/3 and I had the same question as there are quite a bit of holiday parties going on this time of year. My NUT said I can have alcohol in stage 3, so that would have been about 5 weeks post surgery, but to be mindful of sugary drinks and empty calories. I've had two glasses of wine on two different occasions, slow sips, seemed to take a while just to get through one. I didn't have any ill effects or anything. I also drank a lot of Water that night and the next day.

    Anyway, here are my stats:
    I'm 5'3 and 30 years old:
    HW: 263 lbs
    SW: 257 lbs
CW: 139-142 lbs fluctuate around this weight
    GW: 130-135
I don't know if anyone wants to read my lenghty experience, but if you do, I posted it on RealSelf under my same user name. Oh yeah and people.com got a wind of my story, and posted it on their page. I really hope whoever is struggling doesn't give up and know that is hope and always light at the end of the tunnel!!!

@H.150ToGo I was 12/8 I don't think you see the weight come off that fast. I've lost 70 in total (most pre-op) and no one has noticed. Lol are you still swollen? I am, that may be not helping with weight loss yet. I don't think I'm getting enough Protein yet just doing my best to drink and take Vitamins. So far no issues although worried about the Iron I'm about to take. When I was prego it would make me throw up. Fingers crossed!! I'm realizing smarter to add Protein Powder in yogurt or Soup will give me more for my bang but need to get unflavoured for soup. I think I got 60 think it's suppose to be 80. I also use soy milk to mix which has more protein then milk. It is hard

I was a mess. A single mom preparing wills and good bye letters. How do you say goodbye to your kid in a letter? I was crying off and on for the about 3 day before. The morning of I felt calmer. When they took me in I started to get overwhelmed and tears were coming. Next thing I knew I was waking up, it was over. I had a rough time coming out and a lot of pain especially when drinking. Today is day three and drinking is better. Still have some pain. Walking does help... a lot. Like others so glad I didn't change my mind. Although, . Still have moments of what did I just do. I'm not taking as much pain pills so that's a good sign too. No nausea either.

According to Buddhism, the 12 laws of Karma dictate our lives based on what our thoughts, speech, and actions. I'm not a religious person but these helped me today to remind me why I am on this journey.
    1. The Great Law: “As you sow, so shall you reap.”
    2. The Law of Creation: “What we desire comes through participation.”
    3. The Law of Humility: “Refusal to accept what is will still be what is.”
    4. The Law of Growth: “Our own growth is above any circumstance.”
    5. The Law of Responsibility: “Our lives are of our own doing, nothing else.”
    6. The Law of Connection: “Everything in the Universe is connected, both large and small.”
    7. The Law of Focus: “One cannot direct attention beyond a single task.”
    8. The Law of Hospitality and Giving: “Demonstrating our selflessness shows true intentions.”

Hi, wanted to Thank all those back after I had my sleeve surgery on 09/19/16 & 09/23/16 my husband left me. The we'll wishes really got me through some had times cause would read them when I needed a boost. I originally thought he left due to a drug issue. I thought we would work out if he got help but didn't work out that way. I found out by doing some investing that over our last 3 1/2 years of part-time nursing school -he cheated on me while in class at night after working full time, & on clinical weekends with multiple women. I really struggled after finding this out for awhile with getting Vitamins every day, enough Water, but did Protein Drinks for Breakfast & still do for Protein amount. I got through things & doing so much better. I found out Friday also that I will be graduating nursing school. I work with claims dept for the hospital I had surgery at now. I hoping that after I pass my state exam I when take in few months I can get,a job on the baratric floor for surgery patients. I would love that even more then anything. I am writing this update so if anybody else loses their spouse after surgery -keep chin up because it will get better. Sleeve surgery on 09/19 was one of the best decision of my life. I filed for divorce & he signed papers last week, graduating nursing school from long part-time road, & am down around 50 pounds since surgery. I feel better then I have in such a long time -it is amazing how surgery can change your life for the better. I enjoy exercising, walking dogs & energy level is so much higher now. Plus hearing how well you look from others is huge boost to everyone. I hope nobody ever has to go through what I went through, but if anything hard happens in your life post surgery hang in there. Hang in there, keep chin up because trust me your life & overall health will get better & what a blessing in the changes. I do feel very, very blessed in my life again.

I figured out a way to easily monitor my Protein intake without guessing if I am getting enough.
The cups shown above holds 2 oz of liquid so
I poured my Isopure of the day in each cup
    A full bottle = 10 cups
So every hour or 30 min I drink a cup
I also am doing this with my Water.
I think this is an easy way for me to keep track so I thought I share.

    Hi everyone,
Just wanted to give an update. I had my surgery Tues 12/6 and came home from the hospital yesterday. The surgeon discovered I had a large hiatal hernia once I was in the OR, which he repaired. It added about 30 minutes onto my surgical time, but I was still out of the OR in less than 2 hours, then I spent about an hour in recovery before heading up to my room.
The surgery went better than I could have hoped for. I've had no nausea, minimal gas pains that pretty much take care of themselves if I just move around a bit, and the pain was less than I had with my C-sections. I had a dilaudid pain pump and could hit the bolus button up to 3 x hour but only used it a total of about 7-8 times the first day and 4 the second. I was up in the chair the evening after surgery and sat comfortably for a few hours, then walked around the unit a few times the following day. Once I was able to start drinking, I had no trouble handling the 6 - 30 cc cups of Fluid in an hour, even though they told me it would probably take some time to work up to that amount.
Today I've been able to walk around the house a bit (with some help getting out of the recliner. lol) and have been able to tolerate some skim milk, sipping slowly of course, strained fat free cream of mushroom Soup, a sf popsicle, and have been doing good getting down my Water. I tried a few sips of a Premier shake but felt my stomach bubbling and shortly after had some diarrhea, so think I'll put the shakes on hold for a few days before attempting again.
I used some of the liquid pain medicine at bedtime last night but haven't needed any so far today. I am feeling a little sore though at the moment, so I may use some now and then take a nap. I know that I was really worried about the potential complications pre-op, so I feel really blessed that everything has went great so far and thought I'd share some positive vibes. I hope that everyone else has an easy road ahead as well.
