DaleCruse got a reaction from Montana Gal in Almost 2 years out
I've been waiting for this conversation! I'm just over two years past surgery and I can certainly eat more. I've also gained some weight back. It's a constant struggle for me.
Protein definitely fills me up fast. Hard boiled eggs especially. Pasta is almost never a good choice for me. I try to eat as little bread as I can.
Hard liquor is off limits for me. Makes me sloppy. But I do notice an increased wine tolerance. :-(
My wife is a food product developer for a healthy snack company. While that sounds cool, there's always Snacks at home. While they're healthy, if they weren't here I wouldn't eat them.
I still have work to do.

Your dietician will give you your instructions for maintenance.
You will be instructed to add healthy carbohydrates back into your diet in a limited amount. It will slow or stop your weight loss. Once you add them back you crave them. Healthy carbs are plant based, sweet potatoes, brown rice, quinoa and whole wheat. . Carbs are a slippery slope.
Evaluate how much time you invest in your workouts. If you are on the low end of the spectrum you will need to keep a basic bariatric maintenance diet plan. If you are in the moderate category you may need to increase calories and Protein goals. The high fitness level ( Bariathletes) Calories, Protein, and carbs are increased while training. Imagine getting in 2000+ calories with a tiny stomach. It's an all day project.
If/when you gain weight, you go back to your weight loss bariatric diet (little to no carbohydrates) Increase your workouts.
The work never ends after goal.

I never had my nutritionist say no nuts or seeds, but okay. My suggestion is to work with your nutritionist and try small amounts of things at a time. Good luck!

I'm two years past sleeving and I'm aware of it multiple times a day. I can't just carelessly shove food down my throat. I can't chug Water. But I can walk 10k steps a day, run, and most importantly, recognize myself when I look in the mirror.

You probably haven't broken anything, if that's what you're worried. But maybe don't do that again. Good luck.

You're getting a lot of varied responses, from 20 minutes to 3 hours. Mine was an hour or so. Relax, breathe, and do what you need to do, no matter how long it takes. Good luck!

I saw that YouTube video about GasX strips also. I took a bunch to the hospital and didn't need a single one. Each of us is different.
Consider taking a light book containing your favorite inspiration. Instead of staring at your phone for hours, give yourself a break and read something else. Or maybe listen to an audio book.
