I hope this is just a temporary thing for you, but if it is not, I have found that Lyrica and Elavil helped my nerve pain considerably. The Elavil has to be taken right before bed though.

I think this notion of "it's just head hunger" after bariatric surgery is total BS. You're starving your body. Of course you're going to be hungry! You're not feeding yourself. Your body is very literally going into starvation. Yes...you're HUNGRY.
I don't know who decided that you're not supposed to be hungry after surgery, but I sure as heck was.
When I started eating 1000 balanced calories a day two weeks after surgery, I wasn't hungry anymore:)

Guys, it's okay. How fast you lose just all depends on some things that are, quite frankly, out of our control. Age, gender, starting weight and BMI. I was right there with you. I think I had lost 19 pounds by 6 weeks. 50 some at 6 months.
Did I look at other's results and get completely frustrated? YOU BET! But then I finally decided not to waste precious energy on worrying about how much weight I'm losing compared to others. It's not a race to be won. It's a lifestyle change that won't end just because we get to our goal weight. What's the hurry? Enjoy the journey and your new life!
Now here I am, 10.5 months out, and am 10 pounds to my goal weight. Do I feel like a failure because of my perceived "slow weight loss?" ABSOLUTELY NOT. Because ultimately it's about getting there, not how long it took.
Patience, persistence, and resilience. Stick to your plan, find some exercise you love to do, and you'll be there before you know it

I confess that I am still not really seeing the new "thinner me" in the mirror. I know I've lost a lot of weight--but I still feel fat.
I confess that I worry that I won't get to my goal weight and I am done losing
I confess that I eat wheat thin crackers more than I should sometimes even though I consciously know I shouldn't
I confess I forget to take my Vitamins sometimes
I confess that I still worry that I'm too fat to be confident in social situations, so I avoid them still
I confess that I worry about my 17 year old daughter who is over 50 lbs overweight and headed to obesity. I secretly wish I could get her sleeved but she will ultimately have to make her own choices since she is almost grown. I have tried to help her but I don't want to force her into dieting because I know that leads to eating disorders. So I'm just going to love her and if she decides she wants help--I will help her in any way I can. And in the meantime--I will love her no matter what.
I confess that I worry about my boobs losing their bouncy fun for my husband :-)
And I confess that I do sometimes drink caffeinated coffee and love it.

I think it’s better not to overthink it. Choose a goal that seems realistic to you. It’s hard to predict what your body will do. Many people surpass their goal because they simply can’t eat more. You may find that to be the case. Or your body may resist and want to stay at a higher weight than you wanted. I think the important thing is to take it one day at a time and realize that while you can do your best some of it is just up to your body.

A lot of people regain some weight or all their weight but a lot of people don’t. Try not to worry.

Taste and tolerance for foods comes with time. It's trial and error.
If shakes are making you sick and you can't stand the taste then why drink them? It might be time to figure how you can get real food in with your restriction.
Protein shot: Mixing 2oz of Water with a scoop of protien is going to be thick in texture. Sounds horrible to me.

    Some things to try:
eat six small meals a day of real food.
Soft stage foods, canned chicken etc may help.
Choose lean meat. Its higher the protein
Try nature's best Isopure zero carb flavored protein water - 40 grams protein. If the taste is too much add water to it. (you may hate this product just as much)
wishing you the best to find what works.

My surgery was on 10/11. I have little energy. I took 5 days off, then worked from home for a week, then back to the office. I'm an accountant so just sit at a computer all day. But still am ready to take a nap when I get home. I try to get out for a walk most evenings. But some evenings I just can't. I'm struggling to get enough Water and calories every day. I just can eat so little at this point. It's hard for me to believe a person can live on only 300-400 calories a day. That's all I can get in right now. I sometime force myself to stay up so I can drink more water. I wish I could fast forward a few months. I know it will get better!

I don’t own a scale so I haven’t weighed myself since before the vsg. Visiting my mother and decided to give hers a whirl. 20 whole pounds. Gone. I cried a little. That’s amazing. I remember working out and eating like a bird for months and only being able to shift my weight 7lbs. This is such a breakthrough. I don’t see if much in my tummy area, I feel the same. But my ankles wrists and fingers are definitely slimmer, and my little chubby chins are practically gone. So I’m counting it as a win. YAY!
