I guess I couldn't see it because I see myself every day and usually I don't notice the changes. It's been a little over 2 months. And I'm down 59lbs and 39inches! I'm so excited to see where else this journey takes me!

How hard if have problems is it to reach you or your office? How can I be a better Bariatric patient? What do you feel is my best expected result? Do you have any pet peeves post surgery? Mine hates drinking straws. One I know hates whiners.

We did meet up! I also texted her pictures of everything because I got there a day before her. We both had a wonderful experience. I saw so many doctors and nurses before and after the surgery. Well taken care of. Our driver worked for all the doctors in Tijuana and he said that he felt Dr. Garcia was the best and that is why he had his wife have her surgery with him. The anesthesiologist told me that he performs 80-100 surgeries a month and is excellent. He had performed over 6000 and is also a professor at the college. Here is a picture of Angel and I. Tomorrow is the BIG Day and I am so excited. I have been thinking about tomorrow all week. The new and improved Latoya is on the way. I have lost 20 pounds with my preop diet !!

Starting to be able to sip Water now. Hardly any pain but super nauseous. Sounds like that's normal. Surgery was a breeze and was up walking as soon as I was in my room. Good luck to everyone else too! Hope your procedures go as smoothly as mine.
Just FYI, my surgeon sucks out as much of the gas before they close you up to help. Didn't know they did that but thinks it has helped a lot.

File was submitted to BCBS Federal on October 12th; approved on October 28th; and surgeon scheduled me for Dec 1st!!

One thing I love about FB’s on this day feature is seeing all the selfies I used to take lol. This picture really got me though. It was a picture of my niece and I taken one year ago. I see someone who although she is smiling, she is dead on the inside. Longing to break free from the chains of obesity. January 7th of this year I started my new sleeved life. It has not been easy, but I do not regret my decision not one bit. Exercise has become something that I enjoy to do, I never thought I would say that! I am able to be the active mom that my son deserves to have. I no longer get tired and out of breath playing with him. I had got to the point where I hid from my friends because I was ashamed of myself. Not anymore. I am able to walk with my head held high and am proud of the progress I have made so far. I included a full body shot as well the beach picture was taken July 2015. I really needed to see these pictures side by side, the last few months things have slowed down tremendously. It’s not because I haven’t been putting the work in, I am just trying to be patient as I can be. I know I will get to where I want to be.
The only thing I miss about the old me from last year is my longer hair!

Congrats on your surgery!!!! I've heard the first few days are the worst, it will get easier ????
