    Hello
    I experience a lot of Hair loss and had to cut my hair short but after a while, it started growing back. I also experience hair thinning but I found a great Biotin Shampoo and conditioner at a Vitamin store and been using it as well as fast melt biotin tablet and my hair has grown a lot. Your hair will grow back as long as you keep up with all your Vitamins and supplements recommended by your doctor. Best of luck 😀

    I'm I'm on a hair tonic and caffeine Shampoo. It's slightly better but still comes out when I brush, wash or dry. The hair itself is also dull and has gone waivy.

    Mine was super simple. Brown 1lb of ground turkey. Add 1 can of diced tomatoes, 1 can undrained red Beans, and 1 packet of McCormick mild chili season. Mix all together, lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes (or longer for more flavor). That's it.

    I've been on the internet all this week trying to get info. I've been getting more and more disheartened about Bypass being unhelpful due to Seroquel.

    I'm bipolar and one of my mood stabilizers is Seroquel. I've lost almost half my body weight and am 8 months post RNY.

    Would also like to know why?
    The run-up to my op were many months of careful decision making and liaising with various doctors who specialize in their respective fields. This was all to make sure I was a good candidate and to best equip me to make the final decision.
    My bmi is now 20 and I feel great. I eat 3 full and 3 snack meals a day and I enjoy all of them.
    There are also huge medical benefits. Why do you feel like you would like to go back?

    I heard that you have to go back and "reset" your pouch .. learn to feel it again and drink the 70 oz of Water a day.. don't drink an hour before and an hour after..

    Hi!!
    I am new to this forum but not new to WLS. I am coming up on the 10 year anniversary of my surgery on May 1- I have maintained a 100 lb loss (with a few ups and downs but nothing crazy) and I can totally relate to your issue. For me, what I needed to work on the most was the "all or nothing" attitude towards my diet. I remember being on a diet then having a donut and feeling like I blew the whole day so I would eat crap all day with the intention of "starting over" tomorrow. Now, I am not telling you to go out and eat a donut but I have come to the point where I can have a donut and not feel like I blew my diet. I have learned to incorporate different foods- for example, if I have a slice of pizza for lunch I will have chicken and veggies or a big salad with Protein on it for dinner. If you are a grazer like me I suggest eating cucumbers and tomatoes, fruit, or you can get the protein Snacks they sell on this site. Keep a food journal and write down how you feel so you can identify triggers and feelings. It's not easy but it can be done. You can do it!

    I get between 850-950 calories/day. Today was balanced 30/30/40 ish so it was 77grams carb, 32grams fat 88 grams protein. If you use a macro plan it doesn't really matter what your calories are. It works at 600 calories and 1200 calories. Because it is percentage based. Just have to set your macro goals in my fitnesspal and do your meal planning from there. Today my fiber was 25 grams. So net carbs were 52. Am travelher on myfitnesspal if you want to look at my diaries.

    For me personally I feel the best way to go about this is being honest. There is nothing to be ashamed about. You chose to put your health first and that's something to be proud of. If anything it's an interesting conversation starter as well. Usually people aren't familiar with the ins and outs of this surgery and it's exciting to be in a position to break the stigma behind WLS. Don't overthink it! The whole point of a date is to get familiar with someone and to enjoy their company. If it comes up then good! If it doesn't and you decide to go out again eventually it will. The surgery is just a small piece of what makes you the person that you are.

    When I eat an egg, I count an egg as less than 1 net carb and don't look at the fat content. I use net carbs which is the carb minus any Fiber. I don't count fat but eat good fat. My main goals daily is lots of Water..eat under 30 net carbs, get 100g of protein and to walk at least 10K steps and weight train 3 times a week.
    My good fat food that I eat is coconut oil, avocado, nuts, etc.
    I count their calories but don't worry about fat as my main goal. I do eat lean meats though.

    You might try egg white Protein also. GNC carries a few brands, some with flavor like vanilla or chocolate, and some plain. Usually around 25g Protein per shake. Not like it's any yummier than whey, but it is a different flavor to get sick of for a while.

    I struggled in the beginning. But now I love Syntrax nectar. They are a treat for me. No artificial taste at all. I do the chocolate truffle but they have many other fruity flavors. I found them at Vitamin Shoppe

    After RNY surgery, the part of your stomach that normally processes fats and sugars has been cut away. Therefore if you consume fats and sugars it can lead to dumping. After about a year, you body figures out something is wrong and your intestines learn how to process fats and sugars and then it is possible to consume those again.
    During this later stage, my nutritionist recommends a balanced diet of equal amounts of Protein, carbs and fats, with always Protein first. I am over 3 years post-op and I avoid sugar like a plague. I incorporate fats into my diet because fats take away hunger. So in my stage, I consume butter, whole milk, my own homemade whipping cream in my coffee (using splenda not sugar), and non-lean cuts of meat. I generally allow myself one meal a day that includes complex carbs, such as bread or Pasta.
    At 3 months post-op, stay away from fats and sugars and complex carbs. Generally don't count carbs but pay meticulous attention to meal volume. The weight loss phase is fairly short and you want to maximize your weight loss during this stage because before you will know it you will slide quite naturally into the maintenance phase.

    It is best just to stick to the plan and the stall will break.
    I am 28 months post op now and have thought about using the liquid diet simply to detox after the holidays however I am having plastics in a couple of weeks and they really don't want you to change your diet that close to surgery.
    So, we will see what happens after that. I am guessing a few days of Protein shakes and cottage cheese type soft foods will reset me anyway.
    Incidentally I still drink 1 Protein shake every day for my Breakfast but I have noticed that within an hour or so I am starving so once my recovery is over, I am planning on dropping the shakes and eating dense Protein for Breakfast. I cannot do eggs so I will have to find something that works better for me like lunch meat and cheese.< /p>

    I don't count carbs or fat, just follow the program my NUT gave to me. 64 oz Water, 70-90g Protein, 5 meals a day - every 3 - 4 hours. All meals contain Protein, and green veggies (if room), 2 meals can include a multigrain serving and 2 meals can contain a fruit serving (if there is room after protein). Can have 3 healthy fats a day, including 1 oz nuts, 1 tsp olive oil

    I use my fitnesspal and not try to follow a balanced macro plan after being told by my dietician that my carbs were way too low. It isn't as high as she likes...but I feel good in this range. 35% carb, 25% fat and 40% Protein. There is a good Facebook group with recipes etc that helps explain and support this...

    How did you experience this? Did you pick up weight initially? My daily intake is still under 800 calories but I am still picking up as I introduce soft foods (veggies, eggs etc)
    Any hints, tips or insight as to why ones weight could jump up as foods are introduced and did it rectify itself?

    I wouldn't worry about that small gain, more than likely it's a normal fluctuation. It could be as simple as the fact that when you went "off plan" you consumed a higher than normal amount of sodium and you are seeing Water weight. Or any other normal biological fluctuation.
    Your "new norm" should be fine as long as you are eating the right foods. And a occasional (and I mean occasional) treat shouldn't have massive impacts.
    Also, down the road you will be shooting to maintain weight, not gain weight. So you will have a bigger calorie window.
    Honestly, right now at 9 months post-op I'm struggling a little to figure out maintenance, but my issue is stopping losing weight. I'll do well, only 1-2 lbs lost over 4-6 weeks, then I'll drop several lbs.
    I am not underweight, so I'm not overly concerned. And I assume I will look back longingly at this period in the future and wish I was still having an issue stopping losing!!!
