wyndy1 got a reaction from Butterflywarrior in Gaining Weight after one year post sleeve! PLEASE HELP!
My nut also said to eat 5 to 6 small meals a day, concentrating on Protein first. I did that for the first 5 weeks after surgery and I was steadily losing weight. I went on vacation for 10 days and during that period I did not eat the five to six meals a day. Instead, I would eat Breakfast and dinner. I was staying in a hotel so it was hard to do the 5 to 6 meals a day. When I got back from vacation, even though I did not overeat at all, I had gained 3 pounds. I went back on the five to six meals a day, concentrating on Protein and in 2 days I've lost two and a half of the three pounds I had gained. I'm glad I had this experience because it really showed me that eating the five to six meals a day and concentrating on protein really is a big help with weight loss.

Okay guys, this is getting awesome. At my highest weight I wore a size 6x t-shirt. I love funny T-shirts and every year when my family and I go to Maine I stock up on funny t-shirts at the little stores in town. This year in August I saw a couple shirts I loved but they didn't come in my size. I decided to get them anyway thinking that I'll be losing weight and maybe I'll fit in them eventually.
Since I've been trying to do things I previously couldn't I decided to try one on just to see how close I was.
It fit. I mean a bit snug, but it could maybe be passable. I won't wear it out yet until it fits looser but before I would have never been able to get it over my head let alone be able to have it on and sit down without it rolling up
The size? 2x!! I wore a 6x and now I almost fit in a 2x!! I did cry this time guys and it felt really good
    Highest weight 10/30/2015: 540
    Surgery weight 5/27/16: 480
    Current weight: 352
Also, I'm sooo close to losing 200 pounds in a little over a year!!!

I guess what I'm trying to understand is why there's so much anger and vitriol instead of compassion and more understanding. None of us get to a place where we need surgery because we've made good choices or had 100% transparency or honesty with ourselves or with others. Sometimes there are issues that run a lot deeper with some folks than others. You just never know a person's background or story.
I also know from my own past (I'm almost nine years out) and many of my friends in the WLS community we all had experiences where when we first had surgery and were doing remarkably well, we felt invincible and full of conviction and top of the world with our choices and actions. It's easy to get to a place of high-ground when you feel that way, which is why I think it's important to remember that it doesn't always stay that way. There are always going to be times when you question others actions, and that's normal and fine. But remember, there are probably others doing the same to you. Extend the same kindness you'd want for yourself.

Being judgemental with each other NEVER helps. Support is not judgemental. Support is support. You're there through the good times and the bad listening, lending an ear, giving the best advice you can through a supportive and encouraging lens that won't further damage someone(s) already struggling.

I know everyone is different, so everyone will lose at a different rate, but I feel like I am at a standstill. I am 32 days out and have lost 19.3 pounds. For the past 4 days I've been just about the same weight yet I know I'm eating the way I should. I just feel like I should be losing more by now. Has anyone else had this problem?

Sorry I will say it and stone me if you want treats got me my f@t @ss I am trying to rethink that or adopt changes. I could see at or near goal attempting a non flour breading. And I am not saying I have completely perfect but I am not accepting "normal" ways of eating. I have a new normal and I hope to stick to it and my exercise routine forever.

I follow the program too...by the book. But my one breaded tender still stayed in my calories, carb and Protein program. I track my food consistently. It was a treat...if I did it every week, yea, that's a problem. But I think a treat once in a blue moon is a mood booster.

meats like chicken that tend to be dry can hard. In addition to Kristen's suggestions, I usually have something to dip it in for added moistness. Plain old yellow mustard is super low cal/low carb. Or I'll take some plain nonfat greek yogurt and add some herbs or spices to it, I've even mixed in a little pesto before. The moistness helps the meat go down and sit a little easier. Don't give up - it takes time to figure out what works for you.

Hi Everyone ????. I am so excited to have joined the sleevers after an unsuccessful journey with the Lapband. I am 4 days post op. Boy has it been exciting!!! I just wanted to share my experience so far with people who are soon getting sleeved. I was informed of this app via a new friend I met at the course our hospital was having for the bariatric patients. I was soo happy when he showed me this app and read all the post op successful stories and was like Yes!!!! I can finally find someone I can ask for advice! My hospital experience was like no other. I had no gas pains whatsoever. I walked my rounds every two hours without my IV pole. Everyone that got sleeved or banded that day were in shock because I was not in pain. I didnt get to have morphine on my side because I became known of my allergies to it when I got banded in 2013. So instead I got Dilaudid. Boy did I lol . At least for 2 hours. I took with me to the hospital the Biotene spray for "dry" mouth and that helped alot!!!!!! I now drink 2-3 Premier Protein drinks a day they each have 30g of Protein in them, and my H2o. I eat the tuna packs with "lemon pepper" flavor and boy is it good! I also eat baby food, banana flavored. I add a little bit of greek plain yogurt to moisten it up the tuna alittle. I am so freaking happy with my decision. Everyone whose in the process or thinking about it Good Luck and I have no regrets. My surgeon is THE BEST.

So today has seen two landmarks.
    1. It's 50 days since I started my 2 week pre-op and 5 weeks since the sleeve
    2. Today I have lost 50lbs
    That's 50 in 50! I'm made up
This process has changed my life already. For those pondering... As long as you can be strong and follow instruction it will be great. Yes individual results will vary. But for me it's been a fantastic experience.....so far!
Positive attitude will lead to success!

wyndy1 got a reaction from Pescador in Anyone Use Genepro?
I'm 23 days out and I use it. When I was in the hospital after surgery they had 2 different sleeve people visit me. They both suggested the GENEPRO. Both were over 1 year post surgery and still use it. One said she adds it to oatmeal every morning. There are 30 g of Protein in 1 tablespoon and it doesn't have any taste so doesn't alter the taste of the food. I put one scoop in my Carnation Instant Breakfast shake everyday
