Jdserra reacted to jesse10616 in Starbucks
My goal is to get my Protein in... That's hard enough. In addition, I like what I like. I do enjoy the sangria herbal tea. Once I'm able to hold a little more in my sleeve, I'll visit. Maybe it will be a 2017 treat! -
Jdserra got a reaction from KristenLe in What were your worst symptoms post-op?
I'm sitting in the hospital bed right now while I type this up...I've had 2 C-Sections so I assumed this surgery was going to be easy for me. I was so wrong. I have a very high pain tolerance but I can't handle the nausea. My surgery was Monday and I was suppose to go home yesterday but since I wasn't holding anything down, dizzy and throwing up nothing but fluids they ended up keeping me another day. I took a gas-X dissolvable strip for a pain I had on my side last night (Not sure if it was gas pains) I immediately threw it up within 15 sec. This shit is no joke. Definitely not an easy way out. If anyone ever tells me that I'm gonna slap them.

Jdserra reacted to Pescador in Unflavored protein powder?
I am now using GENEPRO. No flavor I can detect, so one very small scoop in V8 works great. I do not like the milky taste of Bariatric Advantage. Right now I am adding Hershey's Unsweetened COcoa powder with barely any calories, and. truvia, to shakes. By far my favorite protest shake.

Jdserra got a reaction from KristenLe in What were your worst symptoms post-op?
Yes... anesthesiologist gave me one right before surgery. They haven't given me another one since then. But honestly I don't think it made much of a difference for me. My body just didn't take good to the anesthesia. ???? -

Jdserra reacted to KristenLe in I have been sleeved
@@Joy@boman I had surgery last week and had to stay an extra day because of nausea. Ask for the anti-nausea patch they put behind your ear. That seemed to help me. Also - I didn't take my pain meds by day 3 because I thought they may have been making me more nauseous. Hope you feel better soon!

Jdserra got a reaction from DeeM in Bariatric Advantage questions
Hmmmm interesting! That schedule is crazy!! LOL. I was just planning to take the chewys during the day and Multi Vitamins at night since I also have to take thyroid meds in AM which can't be taken at the same time as the Multi vit. I think they have a B12 spray they offer. I'm gonna check that out. Just wanna have everything I need at home for the first few days after surgery.

Jdserra reacted to Sai in Bariatric Advantage questions
My program is a multi-Vitamin that contains 200% of daily value of most nutrients and 100% Iron, 1200-1800 mcg Calcium citrate, B-12 500 mcg daily or 2500 mcg weekly
Optional for me since I wasn't low in any of these Vitamins (but I take them anyway):
2000-5000 IU Vit D
2-4 grams fish oil (I take krill oil).
Every program is different though.

Jdserra got a reaction from Chelsea Laurent in Kaiser Options Program Referral (I'M NEW TO ALL OF THIS!)
I live in La Verne so I attended the track of classes in Fontana. 12 weeks, once a week. We weighed in at the beginning of every class. You goal is to lose but it's very important that you don't gain. I lost 5lbs throughout the whole 12 weeks. I graduated in Aug 12th and have yet to have my surgery. I did everything that was expected out of me on time. Even had to get a sleep apnea machine. I had my final appointment with the doctor and the therapist last week. They signed me off to move onto to surgeon. They said it could take up to two weeks to get a call from them. I swear this has been the longest process ever! But I will say the classes are very informative. I enjoyed mine and learned a lot from them. If you have any other questions on the process let me know! -
Jdserra reacted to grnnbaret in Surgery without telling anyone?
I'm the exact opposite but love the fact you can all keep your mouths quiet. I've communicated at work, which has helped with my time off and lots of support. I told my family and they are all concerned and supportive I listen to the medical staff but I personally need outside support to help keep me balanced. I wish I was as strong as you all and not tell people. Waiting on my surgery date.

Oh wow, you're not that far from me! I just passed through there a few weeks ago. Small world! Thank you so much for sharing your experience with me. I really hope your process moves along quickly and you're able to get that phone call before the end of this week! I'm actually looking forward to my classes now!

Jdserra reacted to Rita May in Gastric bypass still on full liquid I want to eat applebees
there were some pretty uneccessarily harsh comments here, I hope this doesn't discourage you! For those of you who did that, shame on you. She was seeking advice from others so that she COULD stay on her plan and wondered if anyone else had been to this restaurant and had any suggestions. I have to attend a wedding this weekend, 9 days out from my procedure and had chosen my meal choice long ago - I will be gracious and accept the meal, pick at what I can, enjoy the sparkling Water w/lemon, and enjoy the reception. not planning on sitting at home either, but just as committed as any of you! Let's be nice, we're all "Pals!"
