What were you doing post-op?
I was walking 2 to 3 times a day for at least 15 minutes at a time. You don't have to go fast but you need to keep moving.

Sleep apnea — how soon till I can get rid of my machine?
I just had my post op sleep study on 4 May 2017 (through the VA Hospital). Here it is almost 3 weeks later and I still do not have any results. I sent a secure message through My Healthy Vet (that is how you communicate with your doctor) and was told that he will contact me soon. My CPAP machine showed that my apnea events went from being mostly obstructive to being mostly central (that is why we did the sleep study) so I might need an AutoPAP machine. So for me (even though I have lost 100 pounds) it looks like I will be on the machine for life.

How do you feel?
I think if I hear that one more time I am going to throat punch someone. I get so tired of hearing that. Is it just a common response to me answering the question of, "How did you lose so much weight?" or is it just because I feel like I don't want to deal with anyone or anything right now?

Feeling Kinda Meh.
For the past week I have just kinda felt like MEH. I don't know why. Kinda don't want to be around or deal with anyone. Went to the crack back on Friday for an adjustment and the whole left side of my back hurt whenever he pressed on it (that has never happened before). It almost feels like I have a major case of the Mondays. I hope to break out of this funk soon.

Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition & Weight Loss Prediction?
Funny thing about all of this is that neither my dad nor the woman that gave birth to me were fair skinned. Must be the Hungarian blood.

Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition & Weight Loss Prediction?
I have TONS of freckles. One time I went to visit my grandparents in Florida over spring break and got sunburned so bad that I had blisters on top of blisters. I will never know how I made it over in the sand box during the Strom without getting burned.

Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Pattern Recognition & Weight Loss Prediction?
I am pale, I need SPF50 just to go out into the sun. When I was a kid my hair was VERY light blonde. That with the blue eyes makes for a very sun burnt youth.

How do you view overweight people now that your thin?
You know what? I was just thinking about this very subject. I guess now that I am thinner I now notice people who are overweight. It doesn't disgust me or anything. I don't feel bad for them and I sure don't think that I am better than they are. I guess I just now notice that they are there. I was almost 50 when I had the RNY surgery last October and I wonder everyday why I waited so long. Just my $ .02.

Tired of the comments
OK, so I am very involved in the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Michigan. On Saturday we attended a fundraiser and I had no less than 10 people pull me aside to talk about my weight loss. And all 10 of them told me, "Well you don't need to lose any more weight or you will look sickly." I thought that was pretty ballsy. Who are they to tell me that I don't need to lose any more weight? Maybe I should have gone to them to perform the RNY on me since they have apparently all been to medical school. Mind your own damn business people and just be happy for me to be healthier. Sorry, my rant is now over (it has been gnawing away at me since Saturday night). Please continue with your day.

How often do you weigh
I used to weigh myself everyday but that was driving me crazy (didn't really need to drive, should have just walked it) so now I weigh myself on Monday mornings only. After the Mrs. leaves for work I use the bathroom, strip down and weigh myself.

Anyone ketogenic?

What are you substituting for the comfort that food brings?
I have replace emotional eating with emotional walking. Whenever I start getting stressed out and look for something to eat I stop and go for a walk. The length of the walk depends on the length of the urge to eat. I am almost 7 months post op RNY and so far it has worked.

Text messsge changed my life .....the agony!!!
I am so sorry to have read this. It is a shame that it had to happen like this. You seem to be a pretty strong woman and you will find someone who will treat you like you deserve to be treated. I am sending you prayers and the best wishes that I possibly can. Stay strong.

Not a lot of comments on weight loss?
If someone sees you everyday they may not really notice the weight loss. People at work don't say anything to me about it. However if I see one of my friends from the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) who hasn't seen me in months they will say something (after they finally recognize who I am).

Not gas a leak
WOW! Sorry that happened to you. I am however happy that you were smart enough to call your surgeon and he told you to go to the ER. Prayers being sent your way. Try to keep a positive attitude.

Can you eat watermelon
Being a pouch I will not eat watermelon just because it has too much sugar. I don't want to dump after eating it. I would say that you can eat anything. Should you? NO.

MEH
The thing that really made me upset is the whole, "You are still a diabetic." I know my A1C says I am a pre-diabetic but damn. I went from 1500 mg metformin and two different types of insulin a day to 250 mg of Metformin twice a day.

Question re: why insurance deny
Same here. My BMI was 35 but with the high BP, the high cholesterol, sleep apnea and diabetes I was approved the first go around.
