  1. You look great! Keep up the good work
  2. Weights. The heavier the weight, the faster you'll tone up.
  3. @vamping awww thank you!!! That's so kind.
  4. @caddygirl congrats!!! That's awesome. My doctor told me after 6 weeks i can start lifting so yours might say something similar.
  5. I'm officially down 60 pounds. Today is my 4 month sleeve anniversary. I can't believe i did it. 35 more until i hit my goal. I found out on this journey that i really love weight lifting and boxing. I also found out that healthy eating isn't as bad as i thought it would be. I'm loving my new lifestyle. I don't know why i didn't do this sooner.
  6. I think lots of people gain the weight back because they never really fixed their issues with food. They lose weight and think they can eat whatever they want or eat the way their thin friends do. But really you can't. In order to maintain you almost to be healthy and active forever. Plus i think it happens over time so they don't realize that they're off track and slipping into old habits.
  7. I kept it a secret from most people. I told a few close friends and regret telling some of them because they think i took the easy way out. Or they think they can just drink a protein shake for breakfast and lose tons of weight, and it doesn't work like that. I just prefer to keep people out of my weight loss business. It's easier.
  8. Mine has been very supportive....up until now. Now that i'm losing tons of weight, he's starting to become a little insecure. I think he thinks i would leave him for someone better and i never would.
  9. Usually you're given a range. You shouldn't be given a date yet because that depends on how quickly you get all your stuff together (nutrtition classes, support group meetings, endoscopy etc) and your surgeon's schedule. Don't get hung up on the date.
  10. One day liquid diet is crazy. You need several days because the point of it is to shrink the fat around you liver making it easier for your surgeon to operate. That can't happen it a day. Usually takes two weeks. Have someone take you home when you're leaving the hospital but you should be fine to drive after a few days. Only you know your body. Definitely don't drive yourself home the day you get released from the hospital. As for pre-op and post op liquid diets: find one that you like the taste of. Your taste buds WILL change after surgery so don't stock up yet. Make sure it's at least 20 grams per bottle and under 200 calories and less than 5g of sugar.
  11. The post op liquid diet is easy simply because you won't have an appetite at all and you won't be able to eat food yet. You won't want anything the first week or so, so it's nothing to fear. It will be over before you know it
  12. That's fair. I'm just afraid of snacking because that's how i got to my heaviest in the first place. I'm sick of shakes too. But i haven't found a breakfast that i like yet, so i'm stuck doing it that way for now.
  13. I think that only posted half of my response. But i was saying that with a shake i'm closer to 80. Without a shake, between 60-70
  14. Oh 100g is way to much for me. My dr and dietician all said 60-80 grams. They said anything more than that i would be over eating. I've never been a big breakfast eater so i usually do a shake (30g) because i hate eating first thing in the morning. If i do a shake i'm closer to 80. Without the shake, if i force myself to eat breakfast, i'm between 60-70g. @blizair09
  15. Eye ball, i'm used to it. And i stop eating when im full. And i only use really tiny bowls, plates and containers. I had to re-train myself.
  16. I'm glad they figured out what was going on. It's easy to be in support groups and compare your progress to other people's. Don't get caught up in that, and don't get discouraged. At least you are now losing weight and as long as you watch what you eat, you will reach your goal weight without question. It won't be easy but you can do it. Besides 9 pounds in a short time is still an accomplishment. And as you start to eat more, you will continue to lose more. Don't stress. Good luck to you!!
  17. Same. Mine said 60-80 for women. And i think up to 90 for men. I invested in a food scale- it's not like i really need it. But that helps. I'm the same way, i'm determined to keep it off and eat less forever. You already got your mind right, you'll do great!!
  18. We all lose weight at different rates. You're doing fine.
  19. Greek yogurt- i like fage. Low fat cheeses Boneless skinless chicken breast - i use oven bags so it's not dry Deli meat Shakes Super lean (92% lean ground beef) Ground turkey (which i despise) Shrimp Crabs Tofu/ tempeh. I like tempeh more Beans- all of them. There are tons of protein rich foods hat you can eat. Have fun with it.
  20. I literally made a post about this topic asking the same question. Everyone is different so find what works for you. Literally just experiment. I do 3 meals- with no snacks. I don't need to snack and 6 meals is just over eating for me. It's to much.
  21. No. Veggie pasta is just pasta with a tiny bit of veggie based flour added. No added health benefits. Unless you're refferring to zoodles (zuchini noodles or spaghetti squash) in which case eat as much of it as you want.
  22. Yes i have!!! So i have tried a few different brands, one was from walmart and the other was banza pasta. It was fine, but i'm not crazy about it only because it was still very heavy. Honestly when i want pasta i just use spaghetti squash, i like it more.
  23. Personally i don't count carbs ever. The only thing i ever count are proteins. And the reason being that i don't eat starches like rice, pasta, bread, potatoes or any of that. I don't need them. Period. I eat veggies- they are carbs and because they have so many nutrients i just eat until i'm full. I don't regulate them. I hope that helps.
