NYU Medical Records Question
Hi Kristen. I just submited my docs to NYU and pretty much 1 and 2 are the same. The first bulleted item and a letter from your pcp is basically what they are looking for (I think). Nilsa, the woman collecting medical docs can be really difficult and a little curt so when you see her (after you meet with your surgeon) make sure you ask her your questions. She is hard to get a hold off once you leave her office ( although she gives you her card) ..i hope im not too discouraging. NYU is the best by far but Nilsa and the paper work is a a reall pain in the neck ...Good Luck

Met with Dr Kurian at NYU today...my head hurts
OK so I was all excited today becouse i was finally meeting with my surgeon at NYU and I heard good things about her. After being there for a couple of hours meeting with nurses and the nutrionist I was all set to meet Dr Kurian and was told she wasnt in today. I was ready to flip out (becouse I booked this appt 6 weeks ago and toke the whole day off and everything) but it was a mix up she was in and met with me. I didnt ask as many questions as I should have becouse i felt a little rushed but i trust her anyway. However the woman who submits paperwork to the insurance company was horrible. She was really rude and seemingly unorganized. I have to have blood work and then she will submit to insurance. (crossing fingers) Im sorry to bable just needed to vent i guess. Im trying to stay motivated so i wont let this imildly chaotic day discourage me. Thank guys

Diabetes Neuropathy anyone?
Hi Ya'll Im in the early stages of my lap band journey. I saw a psy and met with my pcp. He gave me his blessing and i meet with the surgeon in 2 weeks. I am positive my insurance will cover it. Anywho when I met with my pcp he told me my A1C went up to 7.8 :w00t:. I am a little freaked out becouse my right fingers have been tingling lately, like they fell asleep. I dont want to jump to conclusions but has anyone suffered from diabetic neuropathy and has it improved with the lap band? Thanks for your comments guys:smile2:

Come in Bandster with Hypertension :)
EricLyn your numbers are really similar to mine. The only reason I am pursuing this surgery is to get off metformin and the 2 highblood pressure medicines im on right now. I am confident that with weight loss my numbers will improve ...Good luck everybody:smile2:

Nyu
I agree, the ladies that answer the phone at NYU are a little rude but like Fenton, I could put up with a little rudeness to work with the best surgeons in the city (possibly the country). I chose Dr. Kurian, i hear good things about her. Anyone use her? thanks

Come in Bandster with Hypertension :)
Hi Ya'll I plan on benig banded this summer ( I just met with a pysic.) and I know the band has helped many bandsters on LBT with Diabetes but I havent heard much about the band and High Blood Pressure. I was recently diagnosed with high blood pressure which is the main reason im going to do this. So are you guys off your meds completely (if at all) or the very least reduce your dosages? Thanks for your comments

My Friends/family need me to be overweight
Thanks for replying so quickly. I really love this site becouse you all make alot of sense. It is my decision at the end of the day and making others happy or comfortable will not make me healthier. Its just frustrating becouse my support system does not totally identify with me. Anywho thanks again everybody and good luck
