doxaholic got a reaction from Apple1 in VSG and hasimotto thyroid disorder
Apple 1 i have graves and hashimotos my endo highly approved me getting weight loss surgery after asking him i had the same concerns as you. I was in remission when i got the surgery december 4th. After two months i seen the endo and found that my hashis came back. I have been losing weight my surgeon says im losing but not like he expected but im still losing is the point. My endo says that sometimes with the weight loss the hashis corrects itself so he did not put me on pills. I have lost about 80pounds so far for some that is considered normal weight loss i had a ds.

doxaholic got a reaction from MissDonni in Did you have WLS? The audacity of some.
So funny that i am reading this today. I went to see my rhuematoid doctor yesterday first time since surgery i was excited to report back to her that some of my pain was gradually going away hooray! However when going over the meds i no longer take with the assistant she turns and tells me that they were also all on diets and that she was going to win because she had already lost 65 pounds the natuaral way all on her own! Just pure hard work and it was coming off. I said good for you if i could have done it naturally i would have however having the surgery has been alot of hard work too. It does not just come off. I wanted to really rip into her but opted to take the high road. Then when it was time to draw blood i realized that everyone knew about my surgery the lady that drew my blood kept telling me that now that i was skinny my life would change. This enraged me being that yes i have lost weight i would not consider my self skinny i am still considered obese. She just kept throwing that skinny word around over and over. I could not wait to get out of there for fear of blowing my top (not pretty the beast comes out and yes i just saw split lol) how unproffessional of these people if there were another specialist near by i would change doctors. They took something wonderful to me and poked at it till they were content. I still had a sense of pride however i was able to walk out of there with no blood pressure and normal sugar levels not needing more pain meds HA!

doxaholic got a reaction from BigTink2LilTink in How do you view overweight people now that your thin?
I was watching some you tube videos and came across a young man that lost all the weight. He was talking about that now that he is thin he would never date anyone that was overweight because he was not looking at going back to where he was an an overweight person would only drag him down. Now i am not thin My journey just started however if i were ever to get thin i would hope that i dont turn into some of the people that make fun of me now. However i also see his point of view only about the being healthy. What do you guys think do our minds really change that much that we forget who we once were? Or is it all in oneself?

I finally unistalled the app and reinstalled since i wasn't getting any help seems to have solved my original problem. However i still can not see any of the emojis except for world pics. Also the font was extremely difficult to read will find out as soon as i post this if it helped that. Maybe by posting my answer i may help someone. However if this keeps up i may just have to uninstall getting annoying.

I would wait after my surgery my hair went through some changes it felt really dry afterward. Perms usually take a toll on hair plus surgery and some folks lose hair after so long. I'm hoping that don't happen to me but time will tell. Anyways those were my two cents completely up to you whether you need them or not. [emoji38]

Instead of letting me read the original's poster thread. It has been doing this about a week now. I keep hearing about updating but i'm on an android and i have checked the play store and there is no updates available. Am i missing something. The web site is also lagging on loading pictures or it will post the same thread repeatedly.

doxaholic reacted to Writergirl in Scared? So was I...
Five years ago I weighed 367.8 pounds at 5'3". I was terrified of surgery, terrified of life. If you want to know what the journey from terror to triumph is like, read my posts, starting from the bottom. A few are long, but there aren't a lot.
Five years out and I still fight to reach my weight goal, but my life... It's amazing.
You can do it.

doxaholic got a reaction from ProudGrammy in Spouse helping
Hooker spouse make sure you thank your parents they seem to have raised a good kid. Good for you for wanting to be there for your spouse. Your type of story is rare to hear most of the stories of spouses on here are of them being selfish and cruel. So your questions are very refreshing. Make sure you eat but dont do it like your hiding from her. Also yes you have to eat but keep it simple dont go get her favorites and chomp down in front of her.

doxaholic reacted to ProudGrammy in Anyone with more than 5 years post op?
@@ma08 sorry guys, long post, what else is new - get a glass of water!!!
this year i will be celebrating my 5th year sleeve surgiversary
holy moly - time really does fly
i lost 100s of lbs over the years
bully for me LOL
maintenance is very hard after you've lost weight the "regular way"
i could never keep the weight off - that's why i decided on WLS
maintenance after sleeve (or any other WLS) can be harder for some (me)
restriction is probably/almost non existent by now (for me)
i need to know when to stop eating
main issue - i can't graze - have prob with that at times
i'm not perfect!!! Well actuallly
maintenance isn't always easy (in my case)
eating is now mainly mind over matter
i don't measure much anymore - i eat same stuff a lot, so i know portions
I must eat carefully, moderation, drink 64+ oz of Water, eat lots of Protein etc etc etc
butttt, that's how the world is supposed to eat!!!
most "normal" OP don't follow the above - that's why they are heavy, morbidly obese!!!
quantity of obese people is unfortunately a never ending story
Forever and a day...........
I must continue following the above plus more to maintain my weight
everyone in the world should follow rules too
but - i can't take care of the worlds' problems - just mine
walk, talk, chew gum, rub my tummy at the same time!!!
leap tall buildings too!! LOL
could never do these things before !!!
i never realized how sad i was at times, til i found joy
sounds pretty sad
that's my story and i'm stickin' to it!!!
did i "kindof" answer your question how life continues after 5 years with sleeve
i am healthy and happy - enjoying life
kathy
congrats to me!!!!

doxaholic got a reaction from saritamontoya in Where's my fellow Latina/o/x sleevers at?
I am a dser and hispanic boy do i know about them holidays just went through my first it was tuff but i did it. Eventually you will be able to have some of the foods back you may have to tweek them to make them better but everything in moderation. Also it depends on your sleeve and what you can tolerate some folks on here are saying that there taste buds changed or that their sleeves do not tolerate some of the foods they loved.
