I am going for my orientation appointment in 2 weeks. I live in Elgin, and I would love to hear some success updates. It has been feeling "unreal" since ,y approval came through.

I had my sleeve done 8/31/15 at Alexian Brothers in Elk Grove Village through Suburban Surgical Care Center/The Kane Center

I had surgery in Juarez Mexico with Dr. Rodriguez. Abiyoyo dieted over the last 8 years. I am a u.s. Navy disabled veteran that suffered military trauma and a physical injury and then I had 2 kids and under 2 years in 2013 and 14. My starting weight was 240 and I am still healing from surgery it's only been a couple of days I had the gastric bypass and I'm doing very well with recovery I was discharged the next day and sent home because I asked to go home. I am looking forward to this journey.

@@megnun21 I'll be 2 weeks out tomorrow. I'm not even bothering tracking weight loss at this point - we had a lot of swelling and Water retention from the IVs and weight can fluctuate up and down drastically during this time. Concentrate on getting plenty of fluids (at least 64 ozs) and meeting your Protein goals. Don't restrict foods - eat as your plan suggests! There's no way to compare your progress with anyone else. We all lose at different rates - and have different amounts to lose. Just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing - the weight will come off. It's not a race.

Looked it up and its because I have completely cut out carbohydrates and your body is burning fat because there is nothing else for it to burn like it use to so bad breath is one of the things that happen but it levels out and gets better when you start eating more balance everything out

Yes I did experience that. It could be that your in ketosis from low carbing. Great for weightloss but bad for your breath and sweat too. When you get closer to goal and are getting more healthy carbs it will improve. Small sacrifice for getting healthy and looking great. Until then altoids help.

I'm now just over a year out. I also had this concern. However, just because you can, doesn't mean you should. It isn't about how much you can fit in your new tiny tummy, but how little can you eat and be satisfied. I strongly suggest you measure and follow your program. You won't regret it.

I start mine Tuesday (but it's the 4th) - do you start on Wed? I have to drink Bariatric Fusion shakes but they're really good. I bought a few blender bottles. I made some sugar free Jello and will pick up some Clear Liquids tomorrow. Hang in there!

Day 2 was the worst for me. I had so much gas pain but by day 4 I was back to normal driving to the grocery store and walking very fast. I was able to sleep on my stomach by day 6 and today I'm like 'What surgery'? Lol I feel completely back to my old self. I was 303 on 10.14 (date of surgery) & as of today I'm 285.6
The pain is temporary! Stay strong

Hello everyone,
I was sleeved on October 20th. I'm starting my 3rd day post-op, and feeling pretty good overall. I had a some nausea in the first 24 hours (especially during the 2 hour drive home from the hospital--miserable). I slept most of the following day and the next, but started feeling better by mid day on Saturday. I'm drinking as much Water and broth as I can get down and hoping to take a walk later today to get the blood flowing again.
Good luck to anyone who's still waiting to have their surgery this month. You'll do great!!!
