Sleeved on 8/30. Stopped losing for a few days 6 weeks. Then lost a pound and regained and lost the same pound for a few more days. Lost another pound, but am back up a pound. I am following my plan, so I'm not worrying about it.

I stalled on my 5th week and it lasted 10 days. I know its expected and happens to everyone but that doesn't make it less frustrating. You are doing everything right, staying within the nutritional guideline and exercising, and no loss on the scale!! Ugh!! But it's part of the process and we will have to be ready for more of these. I believe I came out of the stall by increasing my calories but don't know for sure.

elle2769 reacted to BobScott in I have a question
When I got home from the hospital, and the pain was still a big part of my day, I looked at my situation and realized that my life needed to be different. I was initially embarrassed that I couldn't do it on my own and needed the surgery, and this embarrassment was motivation to not squander this opportunity to hit the "Reset Button" on my habits.
I never have looked to be able to re-introduce bad foods, but instead I have looked for replacement foods, and activities.
This is the new Football Sunday spread. Lol.
Once I started losing the weight, I fell in love with the new "superpower" of a small stomach! I never wanted to have the craving monster come back in my life, so I have convinced myself that my addiction to crap needed to be treated as the disease it is. So I have sworn off of all trigger foods, and basically anything non-healthy. No breads, candy, Pasta, etc.
I have never heard of an alcoholic program that has a goal of reintroducing social drinking.. lol. So why does our program have the final goal of being able to eat some of the foods that put us in trouble in the first place?
Once you can find your "feel good" foods, things get much easier. For me it was home made Soups, yogurts, Fish, pickles, and almonds. Once you decide to eat to live and not live to eat, it just gets easier.
One day at a time, the future is so bright!

Surgery was Feb23rd this year... I was 381 and now 214 as of this morning. Down 167lbs

I would sure get some nausea medicine!!! Have any of you tried the Torani SF syrups? Adding frozen fruit or Crystal Light Flavors? Right now I am doing vanilla Protein Powder, with low cal almond silk, and a T. Of unsweetened Hershey's Cocoa powder with 1 Stevia added.

@@elle2769 Take the anti-nausea meds - even if they make you sleepy! You need to get in enough Protein and liquids to heal and for energy. At 2 weeks out - you'll most likely be sleepy anyway - so no need to be nauseous too.

The first 10 days of my surgery. My weight did not change at all. My body likes to hang on to every single drop of Water, I swear ugh. Since then I'm going on wk 7 and no stalls as of yet.

I am not sure when I experienced my first stall because I only weighed at doctors appointments early out. But, just about everyone experiences a stall about three weeks after surgery.
Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process of losing weight.

First stall was at about 2.5 weeks. It was the first of many. I do t let them bother me much any more. It is what it is. As long as I stick to my plan, the weight will come off.

I was sleeved 8/31 and have lost 24 lbs post-op. They say you lose about 20 lbs the first month and then 2 lbs a week after that. I think you're right on track. When I hit my one month mark I stalled for about 10-14 days. I have to tell you that eventhough my scale isn't changing I am getting thinner everyday! I am losing inches and melting away. Keep in mind excercise builds muscle.

    CW 169.5
    GW 145 (maybe)
Total of 27.2 lost overall - going slowly but that's ok. It's still moving in the right direction! Still not sure what goal weight I want. I feel pretty good but would at least like to hit a non-overweight BMI with a little wiggle room.
Thanks for all your advise, thoughts and support through our journey together!

You are doing fine. Stalls happen, a lot. They don't mean anything is wrong. I've had...am having one right now. It's been 3days and not even one ounce of change, but all of a sudden it will start dropping. Just stick to the program and it will be ok.

In a nutshell, ride out the stall by sticking with your plan and meeting Protein and Water goals. Your body has been thru a whole lot of extra stuff in addition to the sleeve. The weight will come off over time. I am sorry your surgeon set such a low bar. There are many on here and not on here that get to goal and below by following their plan, keeping moving and letting their body do what it needs to do to take care of itself.

Check with your dr sooner than later. I ended up having endometrial ablation because of excessive bleeding that wouldn't stop. It was weight related but years before I had my sleeve surgery. I also had a blood transfusion because of huge loss of blood. Just be careful, it can get serious before you know it.

Congrats! I am 5 days out and had the same problems My doctor gave me a recipe that is WONDERFUL! It gives you the same Protein in 1/2 the amount and makes more time available for getting in your Water.
1-sugar free pudding (in ready container)
    1-scoop of Protein Powder
A little milk (about 1/3 cup)
    Blend well.
It will become a liquid and is 1/2 the amount of a shake with the same amount of Protein. Best part is you can change up pudding flavor (as long as it's sugar free) so you don't get bored with the taste. Hope this helps!
