RonnieBob got a reaction from amf1025 in Full Liquids
I'm not sure what you mean by "Full" liquids, however, my bariatric team recommended sugar-free beverages such as Crystal Light, Propel, Fruit20, Powerade Zero, sugar-free Kool-Aid, etc. Personally, I relied upon, Propel and Crystal Light.
Hope this helps.

RonnieBob reacted to James Marusek in Yellow bile
I would stay away from complex carbs including bread for the first year after surgery.

RonnieBob got a reaction from WifeyMaterial in Yellow bile
You are a brave one, Heather!
My RNY was on September 19th and "bread" is not anywhere on my immediate horizon or the program laid out for me by my Doctor and Bariatric team.

RonnieBob reacted to James Marusek in I DID IT! 9 days Post-Op!
Transitioning to solid food like steak and chicken can be rough. I found that softer foods such as chili and Soups worked very well for me. I have attached a few recipes at the end of the following article. http://www.breadandbutterscience.com/Surgery.pdf

RonnieBob reacted to JulieNOLA in Primary care Doctor
Remember, you made this choice for you - not your doctor. Everyone loses at a different pace. As long as you know you're following the diet, don't let your doc get you down. Keep your head up

RonnieBob got a reaction from KristenLe in Primary care Doctor
You are not the problem, Yani. Your Primary Doctor is a major problem if they would rather yell at you than support your efforts. I can remember when my mother's doctor saw her purchasing pies at Marie Calendars for a party she was hosting and accused her of "cheating" on her diet without ever attempting to discover who they were really for or the back-story.

RonnieBob got a reaction from Steven1954 in Any Sept. surgeries?
I just got home from my first post-op followup on my Sept 19th RNY. I was given the go ahead to move to phase 2 of the post-op diet and discovered I've lost 9.2 lbs since the morning of surgery. New weight is 383. Total loss from high point of 428 is 45 pounds.
To this point it has been a matter of just putting one step in front of the other and moving forward. Wishing all a fantastic weekend

Thanks, that makes sense.
I've just connected a vivofit and myfitnesspal.com and was pleasantly surprised at the depth of the food database, including the Bariatric Pal items.

RonnieBob got a reaction from ShrinkingMeme in Bariatric Cream Soups and Phase 2 Post-Op Diet
During phase 2 of the post-op diet, meals are limited to 1-2oz or 1/4 cup. The bariatric cream Soups are 6 to 8 oz when mixed. Since they are also "liquid" meals, does this mean I should consume 1/4th cup for a meal and consume the other 6 oz over 3 separate meals or if it can be consumed until full?

The Soups are not counted as your mushy good. Its liquid so you just drink at the appropriate rate.

RonnieBob reacted to Kittymom in Surgery was yesterday!
@@KatB5331 the pain really isn't bad at all, my surgery was Monday 26, came home Wednesday, just sipping and walking the house. Hope you have a speedy recovery
@ Ronniebob can't believe your back to work already, my Dr won't let me drive for 3 weeks, won't release me to go back to work for 4 weeks.
Hope you are doing well.
Best wishes everyone

RonnieBob got a reaction from KristenLe in After 3 weeks
I've been told chicken soup with noodles or rice are no-nos for RNY post-op. Best check with others to be sure
