I have had ZERO pain from this surgery. Not even kidding.the only pain I have is from my back, which stops the second I stand up. No nausea. Nothing.

seeingme got a reaction from Malin in Sleeved yesterday...wow
I was sleeved yesterday along with hiatal hernia repair. I have ZERO pain related to my surgery. No nausea. Nothing.
What I do have is excruciating back pain that is absolutely positional. My back is full of chemo-induced arthritis . When they got me to my room my back spasmed and I came flying off the bed. I needed to stand up straight. This freaked the nurses out a little bit. I told them to get rid of the bed, I would just be in the recliner, which is where I've been ever since. My pain has never been above 3, and again thats my back, not anywhere else. I have had 14 surgeries in the last 2 years so maybe my pain threshold is a bit higher than typical. I also have a tendency to not be able to sleep after surgery so I accepted the dilauded knowing I would at least get to sleep.
I go home this afternoon and resume life. It's been 8 months waiting for this, now lets get in with the show, shall we?

I was sleeved yesterday. Every time I get up to pee I take a walk. My first one was 3 hrs out of surgery.
I am in a recliner because the hospital bed is terrible for my back. Much mor comfortable. I have 5 hospital pillows stuffed around me.

A quick story. I used to ride motorcycles. A lot. Back when I was doing that I had several shirts that I used to ride in and they all were black with flames coming up from the bottom. I ordered a shirt and it came with this shirt and they never fit. I swear that the black one is actually an XL labeled as a 2XL. I hung them up in the closet and swore that I would wear them someday. That was 2003. That day is finally here! Although this definitely isn't my style anymore, I'm wearing this dang thing. The black one is my next goal.

I'm curious if your husband is overweight? My husband is very supportive of me, but a bit worried about me being in better shape when he is not. He admits this is his own issue with insecurity, not a true fear that I will leave him for someine thin.

Only a couple more days, surgery on the 5th. I can do this!!! I'm only down 9 lbs. Blah! But I am one who just barely qualifies for surgery and my surgeon expected I would lose about 10 on the liquid diet. But Oh.My.God I am STARVING!! Thankfully I am very busy today and tomorrow so can mostly stay out of the kitchen. I am hosting a monthly coffee get together at my home tomorrow and none of the people coming know I'm having surgery. They will be brining holiday treats. I may have to sneak off for an extra shake.

My surgery is on the 7th and I can hardly wait. The liquid diet is getting easier. Today is day 4 and what did I do? We are stuck in a hotel for a week with 6 kids, 2 dogs and a cat while some work is being done on our house. Took the kids out to dinner, ordered a meal for myself and started eating!!!!! I completely forgot I couldn't eat!!!! I only had a few bites before I realized it, but I was totally shocked!!! How the heck????

Anyway, I have to adjust my ticker because I'm down 6 lbs since Friday.

seeingme got a reaction from Malin in Anyone having or had a sleeve weighing 200lbs? SD 14/05/17
My last weigh-in I was 112. I am day 5 of my pre-op diet and I was 105 this morning. Hoping to hit 200 by my surgery date on Dec 7th. It doesn't really matter what you weight, but what your BMI is. Everyone says to me, "What? There is no way you're that heavy!" But the scale does not lie. As my surgeon said, "Its not my job to judge if you look good at your current weight or not. If you meet the BMI and co-morbidity requirements, then you qualify. Period."

I get it! My daughter is 4ft 8 at 20 years old. She weighs 122 right now, which is a lot for her tiny frame. Her ideal weight is about 100-105. Just 15 lbs makes a dramatic difference when you of very short stature.

I'm right there with you. Scheduled for the 7th and started my diet today. Todays is extremely emotionally stressful for me for personal reasons. I almost forgot I was on the diet today. LOL I drove to the hospital to visit my son thinking "Oh man, i'm so hungry! Oh there's a Burger King next to the hospital, I'll swing in and get a burger." So glad I remembered to throw a couple shakes in my purse before I left. Its going to be a long couple of weeks, but we'll get though it, just as those before us have, right?

seeingme got a reaction from greycurls in Hoping for a quick approval.....
Well...I called BCBS to see if that approval letter is coming soon. They claim they haven't even received the request! My doctors office verified it was sent on 9/27. So they're sending it again, which pushes me out another 3 weeks. I still have to have the appointment with the surgeon (after approval is received) so I can get on the surgery schedule. I guess it won't be the beginning of November.
I try...try...try and try some more, to remind myself that everything happens for a reason, even scheduling problems. Still hard not to get frustrated when you spend months in preparation with a goal in sight!!

I'm new here, just logged on for the first time today.
I am 49 years old and mom to 11 kids. Five are adults are on their own, 6 still at home. The 5 youngest were all adopted internationally over the last 5 years. All 6 kids at home have Down syndrome. I have 5 grandkids. Two years ago I arrived home from Serbia with one of our newly adopted kids, and the next day went for my routine mammogram. I ended up being anything but routine, and I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I ended up having a bilateral mastectomy and going through chemo. I had 14 major surgeries in 20 months. In my spare time I ride my motorcycle, unfortunately it hasn't left the garage in two years. I was hoping this would be my year, but life is still in the way. I love to do crafty things, like clay sculpting and oil painting. I'm not very good, I just like doing it.
Chemo did a big number on my body, but through it all my weight has stayed pretty much the same. I've gone up a little, but nothing exciting. I just can't move anymore. I have chemo-induced arthritis through my entire body. But my cancer is estrogen fed, and fat holds/produces a small amount of estrogen when I don't what a single cell of it in my body! My oncologist wanted 60 lbs gone as soon as I could do that in a healthy way. Unfortunately the stress of being told I "have to" lose weight sent my scale the wrong direction. I just finished 6 months of the dietician visits my insurance requires, and received approval from the psychologist. Now I just need insurance approval and hope to be on the surgery schedule early November.
So who am I? I am am wife, mother, grandma, biker babe, breast cancer survivor, warrior b***h!
