  1. Hi Luv2prayz. I was banded 2/27/08 so exactly six months before you. If you have any questions I will do my best to help. You can private message me by hitting my profile name.
  2. Hi Stephanie! Welcome to LBT. This friday...exciting. Congratulations.
  3. Lets send a private message to all the Victorious Valentines we haven't heard from telling them we miss them and would love for them to come visit us. Do you think that is rude. I having that large support group to lean on.
  4. two more days and it's my 6 month bandiversary. I will post those pics then.
  5. I have wine about once every two weeks, I hate beer so it wasn't a problem. When I go out (maybe once every few months) I have cranberry juice and vodka or if I am at a restuarant with friends but don't feel like eating I have a pomegranate martini. I was a drinker before surgery. Not every night by any means, but I would have a glass of wine or one drink about three times a week maybe. I only drink on weekends now (if I do at all) because it effects me so strongly now. A glass of wine used to relax me, now it intoxicates me.
  6. Ezma. You have the best attitude in the world. That little old man sounds really cute. Jamie. Are you related to youself? I would have flipped out with excitement.
  7. My advice to you is to get off the scale and concentrate on healing for the first six weeks. We all want you to heal up nice and easy. I was starving the whole time. It sucks, honestly. But I know you can do it. Keep your head up.
  8. Hi Ms.Kitty and welcome. I'm from Louisiana myself.
  9. Way to go, Holly, that was very brave. I am a big advocate of self improvement. It sounds like you are off to a running start. Congrats.
  10. That is why I went for the lapband. I have a hard time remembering my two little flintstone vitamans. If I don't I won't die. I am too scatterbrained for that surgery. My weight loss might be slower, but I feel great, I'm looking good, and I eat healthy. What more could I ask for?
  11. Sassymama- Hi. I have been banded for almost six months and I have a secret to tell you. The first six weeks are the hardest. Not only are you hungry, but you have lost a way to cope with stress, something you have always had to give you pleasure...all at once. Cold turkey. Oh it's hard. But if you can get through it, this short time (though it doesn't feel short when your hungry and all you're allowed is clear liquid) then you can get through anything. If you break the rules now, at the beginning, it might be easier to not stay on track later on. I'm not your Dr. I am not telling you what to do, I am asking you to be strong. It gets better.
  12. I avoid buffets like a plauge. I have eaten at one ONCE since banding and I ate too much and was miserable. I don't need "all I can eat" I finish way before everyone and the food doesn't taste good enough for the calories involved. IMHO Now if their was a decent salad buffet here, maybe I could change my rule. I have never been to Souper Salad. But it sounds lovely.
  13. I exercise now. For a month or two I quit and I did stop losing, but I also needed a fill quite badly. I started exercising for weight loss, but when I do it now it's for pride. I also wanted to say greythope and kizzie. I loved your post. It's like I was reading my thoughts. I only post "advice" type things in my monthly support group sections, mostly because when I am looking for advice I am feeling low and a few of the veteran banders way of putting things wouldn't actually help me. I think they help alot of people, but the way they put things would do nothing but anger me and I wouldn't be able to focus on the good advice they are trying to give me. Tough love works for some, I am more of a "positive reinforcement" gal. Good luck to everyone and much wishes of success to all the ones still working for their goal. And much respect and well wishes for those hard working ones who have reached theirs.
  14. They say it was because I spot opened during the summer that didn't have a big block buster coming out...I think it was because November is the time that daniel radcliffe's play comes out with the nude scene. I think they are giving the controversey some time to cool off.
  15. The first few weeks are the hardest. Just keep picturing your new clothes.
  16. I know I'm not exactly what your looking for but can you really have too many friends? I'm from shreveport Lousiana, about 20 mins away from the texas line. I still have about 100- to 130 lbs to go.
  17. They do have finance companies they work with, but I really can't help you there because I borrowed from family.
  18. With NO insurance I paid (with all the pretest including) almost 15,000. Plus 150 for fills when I go. Some are more some are less. This is the price for the United states in north louisiana.
  19. concentrate on healing and you will be fine. I think I took off four days, but I have a desk job. Just take care of yourself, promise? And congratulations on this HUGE step towards self improvement.
  20. That really depends on your Doctor and on your own weight loss. I have been banded sixth months and just got my third fill, there are many people who were banded the same month I have that have had 8 some even more. Some only one or two. One lady gets one every three weeks, some every six, some every eight. It varies.
  21. I have had three fills and for two of them I did have very angry bruises. It's normal. Don't fret. I mean if it takes up your entire stomach call the Dr, but if it just small don't let the darkness scare you. It will go away.
  22. I love the camara!!!! hehe I have hundreds more. I take pictures of myself as a hobby.
  23. slcmommy. great progress. I commented in the main pic thread also.
  24. Thanks. It went okay it wasn't a large one, but maybe with my (once again) renewed commitment not to drink while eating and making sure I am getting more Protein and less carbs it will really make a difference.
