I think the worst is over

Recommended Posts

So today is 4 days since banding and I actually feel functional. I was supposed to return to work for 1/2 day today but had to call last night and back out. Had a rough day yesterday with shoulder and port pain.

Well, last night I got hubby to go get me Gas-X, something recommended on this board. I took two before bed and was able to sleep all night! I have no pain in my shoulder this morning and I am only feeling "burning" around my port, especially if I move the wrong way.

I am planning on trying to get out for a bit today and see how I do. I have a wedding to go to Sunday and back to work for 2-13 hour days Mon and Tues so hopefully this feel-good pace will keep up.

For all of you struggling, I hope this is a sign to all that it does get better.

You are doing great. I found that every day is better and better. Don't push it too much and just keep going the way you are!

Congrats on your new journey!

concentrate on healing and you will be fine. I think I took off four days, but I have a desk job. Just take care of yourself, promise?

And congratulations on this HUGE step towards self improvement.

Hey supermom-

We're about the same age and had surgery on the same day! Cool.

I still say childbirth was less painfull, the after effects anyway.

I've lost 10lbs as of today! YAY!

I see how some poeple put their goals on the posting, I haven't figured that out yet or figured out exactly how much I want to lose. I'm thinking 70 lbs or so.

Keep in touch on your progress!

Sherri

Thanks, all. I will continue to take care of myself. I have no choice about the long days but my boss knows what is going on so besides my actual teaching time (9-12 adn 6-9),I can take it easy.

So far, I have lost 10 pounds as well! I know this pace won't stay but it sure is nice motivation and helps to not regret the decision during the pain!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
