I can't do eggs either. I also wouldn't drink the diet ginger ale, even if it's flat. It's still soda. Get honest kids juice pouches. They are a lifesaver! Expensive because they are organic but I love them! Low in cals and sugar

Get bariatric Vitamins. If they are bariatric vitamins then I just wouldn't count that with your carbs cus you'll have to take them anyways

Your insurance company should have info about home health care that you can have for those 2 days. My insurance specifically asked if I'd need it or not and I just got approved. No surgery date yet

Marissa.Ann.C got a reaction from Jill_Me in Fruit after bypass
I would try not to because they have little to no Protein. They are just added sugar and carbs. Once you get to a year + out you can add that stiff

Switch insurances. It's cheaper than trying to raise $50,000 for hospital bills

Cost is usually $5000 ish after insurance. But that sounds about right. The surgery itself is $25000 ish then you have to pay for the anesthesiologist and the hospital stay

Marissa.Ann.C got a reaction from Djmohr in Thank you God!
No I'm not approved, BUT I found a Protein that I like!! People who have issues with taste and aftertaste then try the pre made Premier Protein shakes! The do have that smell. BUT they don't taste like it! Not one bit!! Thank god!! I've tried so many things and I was getting worried that I wouldn't be able to do the pre op diet because I can't stand Protein shakes!! The premier ones aren't frothy either!! If you have issues then please try these!

Marissa.Ann.C got a reaction from Autumn Riley Arnold in Need help, quick!
the pre op diet is more used to shrink the liver than lose weight. unless you are severely overweight (think 500-600 pounds) then you need to lose weight to make the surgery and anesthesia safer. if you are not that heavy then the pre op diet is for liver shrinking so the surgeon doesn't have to manipulate it as much. once you have been approved for surgery then usually your surgeon doesn't require a specific amount of weight loss, they just have to know that you are going to do your part after the surgery. again, ideally if you're following the diet then you should lose weight but the main goal is to shrink the liver. best of luck! i can't even submit to insurance until jan 2017 i have to do the 6 month physician supervised diet first and i just started month 2

Don't worry about what other people think. Just talk with your wife for support and don't tell other people until you've lost weight then they can't really criticize

Marissa.Ann.C got a reaction from QueenLeo in Anyone just now starting thier 6 month supervised diet?
had my first appt at the end of july. just heading into month 2. should be having my surgery sometime in the end of january or early february of next year! I'm having the bypass. i considered the sleeve when i was denied by insurance 2 years ago but i already have severe acid reflux and the sleeve can make it worse in some cases. my dr highly recommended the bypass over the sleeve for that very reason. also the bypass can cure acid reflux... its like a 95% success rate or something like that, well in relation to the acid reflux anyways lol. I'm super excited! i just wish i could have the surgery sooner rather than later. on the plus side, ill be able to finish this semester and just take next semester off or take online classes to give myself time to adjust and heal. good luck!

Marissa.Ann.C got a reaction from DRKExpressions in Protein issues... i could just cry :(
Just wanted to post this for people in the future... If you go to the premier Protein website you can buy single bottles in each flavor for $2.79 each. When you subscribe you get 10% off your first order. I think I'll do this to try out the flavors! Thank goodness, I just can't justify spending $30-$40 on something that I might hate. You can get 3 single bottles for under $10!

Marissa.Ann.C reacted to 2twinkle in Post op in the hospital
I am a recovering addict and asked to have the bare minimum of pain medication. So, after surgery I had one medium level med, the next day only Tylenol.
Frankly, it was the caffeine withdrawal that gave me the headaches, the surgery was not a problem.
When I awoke, my diabetes was gone.
I had a catheter, and I was grateful for it.
Wear the Gown! They are fluffy clean and there is and endless supply of them. You will fit right in with everyone else strolling about the halls.
Isopure and Unjury are tops for Protein.< /p>
