If we are talking crazy diets, then mine was the "Hollywood" juice diet.

I think the majority of us that have decided to get this done love to eat. That's why we're here. Me, I look for that "full feeling" so the way I've decided to look at this is...once my stomach is smaller, I'll choose healthier food and regardless I'll feel full. I think it's just going to be a matter of getting used to eating healthier. I see it as a "system reset" lol...starting new and better.

You will definitely have a life changing experience. I was a big couch potato now I go to the gym 6 days a week at5am and biking on weekends for 2-3 hours. Surgery was the best decision I ever made. I was 350lbs now 200 solid . Definitely have more energy

I had surgery 5/29/15 but lost all my weight by thanksgiving the same year. Now I'm just maintaining

Ok, so I will start sharing in here too. 6 months down the road post op, lost over 70 pounds, and I hit the gym 5-6 times per week, still more cardio than weight lifting. I do 15 minutes of elliptical as warm up, 30-40 minutes weights and work different muscle groups every day. I don't work on my legs as I run a 5k to finish my session. I start to see nice results in the back, arms and pectoral. Shoulders needs more work. I don't do as many abs as I should, but that is not my focus for now. I eat about 130 grams of Proteins per day when I work out and use C4 as pre workout. My training is in the morning (usually 6h45 to 8h15). I try to sleep at least 6h per night, but barely make it and it is a problem for me.

OK, it's been a while guys. We need some more activity up in this here thread. Tonight was a big evening for me. I have a bunch of s h i t going on right now so I have hit the weights with a heightened sense of focus. And it is finally paying off.
I got my deadlift up to 225lbs!

Not the greatest quality, but it is from my form check video. I got my squat up to 185lbs, but my form check video showed that I was not getting deep enough, so I lowered the weight and and just trying to teach my body the form until it is muscle memory. Personally, super proud of this deadlift accomplishment. And yeah, I am kinda happy with how my chest, traps, and shoulders look!
@@BigTink2LilTink @Dub... I haven't heard from you guys in a while. How goes the progress? Avoiding injury I hope!

Well I got an appointment date of the 14th for some plastic work to be done around the mid section. I am not sure how it will go and I am a bit nervous as to if I will like the results or not. It may sound a bit self centered but I am hoping they take enough so I am happy with it after putting myself through it. I will do a before VGS and after plastic pics when it heals up a bit. Wish me luck!

I was cleared to exercise after 4 weeks, I would just recommend taking it slowly on core work initially given that it's abdominal surgery. Don't push through any pain, let it be your guide to what you can do early on. Focus on hitting your Protein post op as to help preserve muscle and work your major muscle groups. Initially your caloric deficit will be very big so easing back into exercise versus going all out will also help with muscle retention. However given how little we can eat initially expect to cannibalize some muscle but know that in time it can be built back up.
While I doubt that you will become a toothpick, understand the current benefit that your extra weight provides. Pre op, I was physically not fit or strong but because of my physical size and mass I could move heavier loads then as opposed to now. Simply put when I pushed 250+lbs of myself against an object, it moved. Now while I am physically the fittest and strongest I have ever been, pushing 130+lbs against an object, may or may not move it. Did I become weaker? Certainly not, I couldn't do a single push up before and now I can knock out 4 sets of 20 easily but one could interpret my weight loss as strength loss. My point is the your performance may be different post op than pre op and therefore not comparable. Your technique may have to change simply because you won't have the extra mass.
Given these outcomes, would I still have had surgery? All day, every day, Yes.

I have to buy new pants in smaller sizes after stalls. While the scale doesn't move in the direction I would like it to, I'm still losing inches and building stronger muscles. Six months out today. Compliments still come in.
