I had the exact same copay through BCBS. I saved as much of my money as I could before my surgery day. I was sleeved November 7th and I'm just shy of thirty pounds lost. I have a new zest for living and a deeper sense of purpose. I'm able to exercise 60 minutes a day and know I'm well on my way to the best version of myself. I too was very very overwhelmed with my copay but if you want something enough chase it. It's worth it. Breathe and remind yourself why you want this so bad.

Any experiences anyone? I heard of my surgeon through word of mouth? Any other recommendations I should keep in mind in my area?

Hey I just wanted to tell you that you're going to be alright. It's never easy to lose someone you've given your heart to- the best thing you can do (in my humble opinion) is just feel it, miss him, feel the pain, embrace it. Emotional eating is just throwing a blanket over something and hoping it disappears the more you deny it the more the pain will swallow you whole. There is no food that can fill the hole in your heart. Only you can do that, you have all the power in the world. Never doubt that. Self love is more empowering and beautiful then any love another soul can give to you. I'm sorry your hurting, truly. Don't lose sight of what you're doing for you it's hard to see now but sometimes our greatest hardships are blessings in disguise. This is your time to shine and the only one you need on your side 110% is YOU. I believe in you.

I'm really into the power of the mind and I followed a program that is called the easy way to quit smoking by Allen Carr I listened to it everyday and sometimes played it when I was going to sleep through the night. I feel that helped me long term because it changed my mind on the way I viewed my habit. New insight is an incredible tool. I was a pack and a half a day smoker for 7 years and have been quit since August 1st. I have no desire to go back. I hope your so proud of yourself it's not an easy decision to make and to stick to.

I felt that way when I first began my journey and like keeping track of everything would be a pain. But I found once you get into the habit it's not so bad. Once in the morning I sit down and decide what I'm going to eat and log it into the app I use to keep me on track. It has made eating less stressful for me and made it easier to stay on track. I wish you success no matter which route you take ultimately it is about what works best for you and your success and that's so subjective.

Wtf is the matter with you people? As stated before if you have nothing nice to say then keep your mouth shut. Y'all need to go back to elementary school so you can brush up on the basics. There is a decent way to ASK if you have questions about someone's progress. Just jumping up in here and straight onto someone's back and TELLING them you know what's up is unwarranted and uncalled for. On another note how about everyone just focuses on their own journey instead of badgering someone about theirs. Ridiculous. To the OP I wish you success and all the happiness in the world.

For me personally I feel the best way to go about this is being honest. There is nothing to be ashamed about. You chose to put your health first and that's something to be proud of. If anything it's an interesting conversation starter as well. Usually people aren't familiar with the ins and outs of this surgery and it's exciting to be in a position to break the stigma behind WLS. Don't overthink it! The whole point of a date is to get familiar with someone and to enjoy their company. If it comes up then good! If it doesn't and you decide to go out again eventually it will. The surgery is just a small piece of what makes you the person that you are.

I get a lot of this stigma from my co-workers coming back after my surgery. These folks told me once a day I was taking the easy way out. Long story short one day I marched into the back and lost it for a second letting this particular person know exactly why I chose this- I gave myself a tool to ensure my success. As well as what I personally had to change about my lifestyle and explained I do everything someone who took the "hard way" does. I simply have a something to keep me on the right path. I have no shame in that. Generally when people struggle they need a hand up and the proper education to ensure their success. I haven't been ashamed in the least in the choice I've made and let people know around me what I was doing for accountability purposes and I started to regret it shortly after- once I quit brushing it off and I started getting real with people who think they know what my journey consists of I felt liberated and like maybe I had a chance to shed some light on something that I believe the majority of people don't know about.

I suppose I'm more just doing it to do it at this point I will walk around my favorite lake and I tend to enjoy that much more then getting on the treadmill or stationary bike. As far as goals go I met a couple that I set recently. Big picture wise I guess the dream was to be fit but maybe I'm looking too far off to have that be a fire under my ass. I will have to put my thinking cap on- I like that idea.

I agree. Have your doctor check your blood work. Are you getting plenty of Water and walking in? I am ready to work out but still trying to just walk. My doctor pleaded with me to not try to do to much too fast. I coach track along with football in the fall and I am going to work out with my team starting in Feb. No way I could do that now just four weeks out.
