    Help!????

yes you can drink Water after or during trying to get a shake down. and my nut as well says to only give myself 30 min a meal and then stop if i cant finish it. then every 2 hours go back to it if you want. the main goal is Protein and staying hydrated for the first few weeks though. it gets much easier! best of luck Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Best portable protein snacks?

i always make sure to have a Protein bar stashed in my purse. sargenteno makes little snack cups with cheese and nuts that are easy to bring anywhere too! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Exercise! :(

i wasnt cleared to do anything but walk until 6 weeks out. not even lift anything over 10 pounds. i think its to make sure we dont give ourselves a hernia. i would walk around the house all day and vacuum or dust. needless to say i had a very clean house for 6 weeks haha! take it easy and good luck Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Regular Food recipes

if you like buffalo chicken things i suggest some buffalo chicken won ton rolls. i baked chicken breast, shredded it, mixed some hot sauce or whatever you prefer in it then put a tiny bit on a won ton wrapper and sprinkled some bleu cheese crumbles in it then wrapped them up. i baked them at 395 but no certain time, i just checked them every few minutes until they looked toasted/crisp! so so good. i also have been making won ton pizzas. chipotle has also been really good, you can get a single taco and pick from it or a kids meal. very yummy and has sat in my stomach well. calories/snacks

hello! im about 7 weeks post op and im not sure what my calorie intake should be. i see my surgeon in a week and will ask him as well but what was your calorie intake at this point and did your plan call for snacks between meals? right now im trying to stay at 800 calories max with one snack between lunch and dinner but im still finding myself hungry throughout the day and would like to have a mid morning snack. i would love to hear anyones experience/input! thanks! i drink 40g of protein a day, get the rest of protein in through my meals, plenty water, and no more than 2oz of food at a time. Post op in the hospital

every program is very different. i had iv pain meds, was in the hospital for 3 days, and only had Water trials and i needed to urinate a certain amount. i had a catheter for the rest of the day after i got out of surgery and the next day it was removed. it wasnt that bad, when removed it just felt like pressure. i wasnt allowed to put any of my clothes on besides changing undies until the day i was discharged. i totally overpacked and was so groggy i didnt even care to use anything i brought. undies, chapstick, and gas-x was my main staples. they sent me home with pill form pain meds but they were so tiny i could easily swallow them with a tiny sip of water. i only needed them for one day of being home and then extra strength tylenol seemed to help much better actually. like i said, every program is way different! you will do great though, i wish you all the luck! What do you eat?

5 days out i was still on liquids, Jello, popsicles, Protein drinks, broth. at 10 days post op i got to start the soft pureed stuff. scrambled eggs, soft cheeses, tuna, chicken, deli turkey, Peanut Butter, stuff like that! every program is very different though, if you arent sure id call your nutritionist, nurse, or surgeon. Post op diet

at 3 weeks out i was only eating 2oz, soft Proteins, and my Protein drinks. i couldnt figure out if i was satisfied so i bought a food scale to get the exact 2oz of whatever i was eating. i tried toast and it sat so heavy in my stomach i dont think i will try it again for awhile. its strange they want you getting in so many calories. my surgeon only wanted 600-800 max at that stage. but every program is very different. you will get the hang of things! HELP PLEASE! 15 y/o post op!

Syntrax nectar saved my life with getting in Protein. it tastes just like juice and i add a crystal light lemonade packet to it depending on the flavor and it makes it even better. its hard to find so i usually order online at si03.com. good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  22. my surgery was 7/18, so im about 3 and a half wks post op! i have lost 33 pounds since then and have been very lucky recovery wise, no problems what so ever! i hope its the same for you, make sure to walk as much as possible, it helps SO much with releasing some of the gas. also if your nurses allow it, gas-x strips, some wont allow outside meds. 23. it is so normal! i would vacuum the house several times just to keep busy, my boyfriend would get mad because if i couldnt sleep, id vacuum haha i also prepped last minute, but it helped get me through a day of anxiousness by running all the errands i needed. it will be okay, i promise you! once you wake up you will be so relieved and can start this new journey. i wish you so much luck, you will do great! Why did you choose bypass?

i chose bypass because i felt the sleeve was more invasive, losing most of my stomach scared me. my surgeon also says in the long run you are more successful keeping the weight off years down the road with the bypass. i am 3 weeks post op and have had zero complications, sw 272 cw 235. good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. i did this and my NUT had no problem with it as long as i got close to the recommended amount of Protein i needed to get in for that day! good luck to you, it gets easier! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
