To Fill or Not to Fill?
Sus - thanks! If you're losing that much per week and not hitting your 1000-1200 then absolutely - don't do it! You are doing sooooo good. I write my weight on the calendar every day and I'm so tired of writing 192, 191.5, 191, 192, 192.5, 191.5, etc., etc.... I've been doing this for almost 3 weeks. I can not get the scale to budge. My body does NOT want me to be in the 180's! Brenda - LOL on moving the treadmill! I am sure that's muscle weight! Went to work out tonight (yikes!) with someone on LBT and they said that they thought there was a difference between "full" and "stuck". If you can eat more than you're supposed to, then you can probably use a fill. In other words, stuck is not necessarily synonymous with full. I can eat WAY more than I'm supposed to --- so I'm keeping my appt on Wednesday I guess. I'll let you know how it goes.

To Fill or Not to Fill?
Thanks Brenda - Hard thing to figure out! I'm really not sure if "this is it" or not. I'm thinking NO, but really don't want to go get that fill and then be sick. Hopefully we'll hear something! Take Care.... Kim

To Fill or Not to Fill?
Hi - Just looking for a little feedback.... I was banded in January. I had my first fill (1cc) a month ago. Since that time, I've been able to eat well over the standard 3/4 - 1C meal. I don't really get a "full" feeling like I've heard of. Not really hungry, but definitely nothing telling me not to eat another bite. I can eat most breads, rice and meat with no problem for the most part. I have problems with dry meats (like plain grilled chicken) or like today I had a bagel and did get the golfball and accompanying slime. I feel like I chew very, very well but these things will generally cause me to have the golfball. Here's my question.... I'm scheduled for a fill on Wednesday. I want to know if the golfball feeling with the bagel and dry meats means that I don't need a fill. The last thing I want is to get too tight of a fill and be sick. However, as I said, I can eat way more than the suggested portion size. I have been fighting with the same couple of pounds now for about 2.5 weeks. Any help is appreciated to help me make a more informed decision.... to fill or not to fill.

Should I break up with him?
I've watched my sister for years married to a guy like this. It's a sad life for her. She's got two kids and feels stuck now. Meanwhile, I have a pretty great husband - sure we fight sometimes and he's got his flaws, but geez... he's really a nice guy and cares about me and I know this. Do you want to live like this forever (because it probably won't get much better and maybe worse)? Even if not, I think you probably could use your time more constructively.... more fish in the sea... go catch a good one!

Newbie from East Texas
Hi Jana, Wow - I work in Coppell just next to Lewisville... you used to live close. Now you're just a hop, skip and a jump to the casinos in Bossier. How fun! My parents live on Cedar Creek Lake (near Athens), but that's still kind of far from you. I know I saw someone on here who lives in East Texas and she seemed nice. Glad to hear about your daughter. The no sugar thing will be of help to you. It's really not bad on the pre-op. Stay away from those carbs and get the Protein up. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. I'm thinking of going back to that diet because my weight loss has stalled out now for the past 11 days. UGH! How to set up your ticker: 1. Go to www.tickerfactory.com 2. Click on weight loss link 3. Select a ticker ruler you like by clicking the option button next to the one you choose and then click NEXT 4. Choose a ticker slider you like by clicking the option button next to your choice and then click NEXT 5. Configure your weight tracker by entering you info and the click NEXT 6. You will see a message on the screen that says Done! Your Ticket URL is: (and then there will be a long string of text starting with http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/..... 7. Click your mouse at the beginning of this text (starting with the h in http and drag over the entire line of text. (make sure you highlight the entire line (URL) 8. Press Ctrl+C (hold these keys down at the same time) to copy the text you have highlighted 9. Go back to www.lapbandtalk.com and click the UserCP link 10. Click the link titled Edit Signature 11. Scroll down to the text box titled edit signature and place your cursor where you want your ticker to go 12. Click the icon called insert image - this is the one that is yellow with the two little mountains and sun on it 13. A window will pop up telling you to enter the URL of the image 14. Press Ctrl+V (hold these keys down at the same time) to paste the text you copied in step 8 above into this field. 15. Click ok and you're done! Your ticker should magically appear. 16. Click save signature and you're done - you can update it as often as you want by going to user CP, click on your current ticker and press delete - then repeat these steps to re-add. That's how I do it anyway :-).

Hey Jana - Just a little encouragement for this pre-op stage - I lost a ton of weight on the pre-op diet. I did the same high protein / no carb, but also had to cut out sugar. Weight was dropping off like gangbusters. Where in East Texas are you?

Ummmm... yep - I sure did forget to put that in there. I'm working up a storm until then. We have our big "event" at work and I'm in the events department. I'm in charge of the new registration system we put in place. We'll be hosting a crowd of 7000-8000 at the Ft Worth Convention Center. It will all be over by March 27th and my life will get back to normal. My mom will be in town staying with us on Wednesday and Thursday. Saturday could be ok??

Hi guys. I live in Keller and work in Coppell (near Lewisville / Irving / Grapevine area). Either one of those places would be ok with me. I don't know Dallas all that well, but I can find my way anywhere - just not back again . Holy cow Tammy - size 8?????? Big congrats there!!!

The Gone for Good Club
Hey Laura, You're taller than me! Only by an inch though! Ok, so just let me know when you feel like getting out of the house to walk or just whatever. It's crazy that we live about 1 minute from each other! We should do this sometime. PM me and I'll get you a phone number. You can call and tell me to haul my fat butt from behind the computer! I could sure use the motivation! I really like exercising (once I start). I just can't figure out why I'm having such a hard time starting! I have this fabulous gym at work with more equipment than I could ever use and I sit at my desk all day and don't go to use it! Maybe it's just because I've been working so much that I don't even get a chance to leave my desk - I eat lunch while I work lately. By the time I get home I'm just ready to veg. I'll be glad when March 27th gets here! After that, I have to make a promise to myself to give it a go..... Ok, I'm rambling....

Stretch Marks - for the love of God...
I dunno. When I got pregnant with my first kid I was about 125 lbs. When I delivered I was 200. Good skin elasticity does NOT run in my family. I remember seeing the big red stretch marks making their way up my stomach - then they brought their friends. My stomach looks like a road map. Arggghhh! I heard strivectin is good - of course this was an infomercial - so would they really say it was bad??? I bought some at 90 something a tube and it has maybe helped a little - although I don't use it all the time. Cocoa butter is supposed to be good, too. I know that sucks... if your stomach doesn't stretch any more, then maybe they'll cease and desist.

Decent tasting protien Idrinks
The first one my doc gave me (myocel) was absolutely disgusting. Then I went back the day of surgery to pick up more to make sure I had enough for post op and they gave me one called Reclaim RX. I got one in Swiss Cream Vanilla and the other is Double something Chocolate (can't remember the exact name)..... I have these EVERY day for breakfast and they're really good. Someone once upon a time posted a thread about a shaker for protein shakes... it's a plastic container with a round whisk inside... I ordered 4 and use one every day. Keeps me from dragging out the blender and also keeps the amount of foam / air down.
