Yes! I would find a new doctor if he doesn't listen to your past history! I'm so sorry for your loss I agree with hazel that I don't think your band would matter in terms of affecting a pregnancy or changing how soon you want to start trying. I always read trying as soon as possible was better in terms of fertility but you really need to do what is best for you mentally! Good luck <3

Natural Birth
I guess that depends on what you mean by natrual! I labored for 37 hours with back labor until I finally had to get an epidural because I wasn't progressing (too tense, baby facing the wrong way!) About 3-4 hours after the epi also had the smallest amount of pitocin and that pushed him right down in a matter of 1-2 hours! I pushed for 20 minutes (unable to feel anything sadly...I really wanted to go completely natural) and he was out! Xander swallowed some meconium on his way out so after his first night with us, he had to go to the NICU for about 4 days to work the junk out of his lungs and get some antibiotics. Nothing serious thankfully, but just as stressful and devistating! He's a healthy, happy 6 month old now

Getting A Fill...finally!
Hey Ladies! Well, it's finally my time. Xander has stopped breastfeeding and is 6 months old now. I got into a funk and stopped counting calories...then I did a really stupid thing and weighed myself last night (after sitting at work all day)...252!!!! OH HELLS NO (was at 197 when I found out I was pregnant). I called my band doctor today and was able to get an appointment for a fill in 2 weeks! I'm really excited because I'm sooooo ready to get back in control and having restriction. I'm scared because I remember how hard it was to change my eating habits in the beginning, but I'm hoping my previous experience will help me stay vigilant. I got 4 cc's taken out when I was pregnant and I usually don't tolerate more than 1 cc at a time well... I'm hoping I can get at least 1 cc this time (maybe 2) so I don't have to go back as often (new insurance doesn't cover anything lap-band related). I'm going to try to get back on here and read, read, read to stay motivated and refresh my band rules! It's hard for me to read a lot here because it seems like everything I read I've ready before already and I can't reply to anything because someone else always answers things I can help with before I get to them (and sometimes better than I could answer anyway)! Wish me luck mamas! I'm gonna need it!

Getting a fill while BFing? (X-posted in Fill Group)
Also keep I'm mind, depending on how much fluid you need in your band and how fills affect you, one fill may not effect you at all! I have to get 4 cc to get back to where I was so I don't think my first fill will have much effect on my breastfeeding

Getting a fill while BFing? (X-posted in Fill Group)
Hello! Sadly my baby is 5.5 months and I only BF once in the early morning now. Baby boy won't take the boob bc he got so used to the bottle. I don't make enough to save but I'm thinking about taking supplements again to get my supply back up. I would just have to really commit to pumping at work which is really hard for me (and my pump is manual and it sucks!) I would say just try your best to eat healthy in terms of hating the weight gain. Hopefully your breastfeeding will help you shed the pounds. It didn't for me but that's bc I never made enough to start with If I can get my supply back up I may wait to get a fill ... My doctor said I could come in whenever I wanted though. We'll see! Good luck! And congrats to you too!

Getting a fill while BFing? (X-posted in Fill Group)
Heather, I had a lazy eater in the beginning and my baby was losing weight bc he wasn't getting enough milk. (Falling asleep at the boob) Ever since he was about a month old I've been having to supplement with formula... He gets breast and bottle every time. (Although just recently, overnight he will take only breast and be find until morning!) I pump at work at get about 2 oz total every 4 hrs. I have tried fenugreek, lactation Cookies, Reglan, and feeding on demand! Since I started pumping at work 4 weeks ago, I do feel like my supply has increased but very little. I eat anywhere from 2000-2200 calories a day now. My biggest setback is Water. I suck at drinking water (I always have, even before my lapband.) I struggle to get in 2-3 bottles of water a day. I go in phases of good hydration to barely getting in one bottle a day (of any liquid... I don't drink pop or juice or anything). Supplementing is working out okay for us as it has helped him gain normally again....although I really hate it because feeding time takes longer, formula is smelly and makes him spit up more, and its just a pain! I'm hoping to get my supply up slowly and possibly get to EBF but I don't have a time frame and I'm not trying super hard right now (see: pumping every 4 hours and not 2) because I'm still playing catch up at my job from when I was on leave! I will def be waiting until he is 6 months to even call my doctor and see what he recommends. I don't think my issue now is calories in...I really think its hydration. Sigh.

Getting a fill while BFing? (X-posted in Fill Group)
Do any ladies have thoughts or experience regarding how soon after having a baby you got a fill if you were breastfeeding? I don't want my supply to dry up or lessen (I'm already not producing enough milk) but I am itching to get a fill and start getting this weight off! (I only lost 20 of the 60 lbs I gained from pregnancy and now I'm just stuck!) I had half my Fluid taken out around 10 weeks pregnant (4 cc) and will probably have to get 1 cc at a time and pay $250 out of pocket each time so I don't want to go too soon... Should I just wait for 6 months of breastfeeding (ideally I will breastfeed for 1-2 years) and see what happens after that? I'll will be 3 months post pardem on Aug 13. I would love some opinions!

Diet after delivery
I haven't called my band doctor yet and I will be 3 months PP on Aug 13. I will do what he suggests in terms of getting a fill, although I'm sure my husband will be against since I am still breastfeeding (but having to supplement due to low supply). We'll see!

Weight Gain
If you are eating carbs again and you weren't before you unfill (like I was) that could also contribute to a crazy fast weight gain. It should even out though! (at least it did for me)

Pregnant!!!!
Thank you! I'm considering starting some natural labor techniques after my baby shower tomorrow, lol. Bouncing on my yoga ball, sex, walking, maybe red raspberry leaf tea capsules if I can stomach them!

Pregnant!!!!
I'm feeling pregnant and so over it! Lol I'm 37 weeks today. I'm tired, sore in the hips, I have round ligament pain and a groin pull (both on the right side), and forget about even trying be comfortable in bed! Here's hoping he comes earlier rather than later

Pregnant!!!!
I would guess you are still swollen! If you were throwing up a lot then it may take a while for the swelling to go down

Pregnant!!!!
Yay for band babies!!! I hope everything goes smoothly! I'm 32 weeks along in my pregnancy and due May 9 (Which is 4 days after my 2-year bandiversary!)

Third Trimester...
You are not alone! I am having this same issue. I lost 97 lbs before getting pregnant so I have hanging skin on my stomach...I've gained about 45 lbs since being pregnant and getting half of my Fluid taken out. I am growing appropriately and not measuring big or anything, but I very much still just feel fat even though I really do look pregnant. It's a big struggle to go from focusing so much on getting smaller to being okay with getting bigger! My only advice is to remember that pregnancy is temporary and try to enjoy your growing body! It's doing amazing things on the inside right now, even if you feel gross on the outside That's what I try to remind myself!

So scared...
Good luck!!! One fill is plenty if you are prego now. Hopefully, it will be a small enough amount that you don't swell and have to it taken out! I had 4 cc taken out when I was about 8-10 weeks pregnant due to swelling and being unable to eat (I had 8 cc in total) and after getting a new job and switching insurance, I am also self-paying for fills! (So lame!) Come here, or message me, or check out baby center.com for support! There is a plus size and pregnant board and while not too many of them have had lap band surgery, its a good place to help cope with being plus size and having your body grow!

preggo question!
I had half my Fluid out but it was by choice. I was swollen and unable to eat without getting stuck on everything. I still have restriction but I am eating pretty regularly. My doctor didn't seem to care how much he took out. I don't think he would have made me take any out if I didn't want too, and I was really scared he would because my nutritionist said he would so don't believe everything you hear! I'm 25 weeks and I've gained 27 lbs, but I've been steadily gaining 1-2 lbs a month after my initial gain from losing my restriction. Try not to fret too much and remind yourself nutrition for the baby is the most important thing right now!

Anyone still having trouble getting pregnant?
That's a loaded question! I was off birth control for 8 months as well before I got pregnant. I was very close to going to see a specialist. Most doctors recommend you see a specialist if you haven't gotten pregnant in a year and you are under 35. There is no good answer for you, however. It really depends on your medical history! Have you ever been tested for any fertility issues before?

baby bump too big too soon?
There is a time in the beginning of pregnancy where some women "pop" and go from looking chubby to round and pregnant. Don't forget, everyone grows babies differently! I highly doubt it's cause for concern!

new to site - thank you! (considering surgery + wanting to be pregnant sooner than later)
Way to go with making the decision! Keep us updated! Losing any amount of weight before having a baby will help you in the long run!

My band baby is here!!
Yay! So glad you have a healthy happy baby!

To Baby or NOT to Baby
Newly banded people get pregnant by accident all the time! That being said, I would wait a bit longer for you and your body. Pregnancy is a huge change to your body (I'm currently 22 weeks) and if you aren't prepared to deal with the changes mentally, it could make your weight loss stall even more so after the baby is born. Get more into getting healthy and learn all you can before making such a drastic change physically! Good luck!

Everything Stuck
Just remember when you're pregnant, everything swells.
