  1. I just started using myfitnesspal.com and their suggestion of calories was 1370 a day (I put in my current weight, my goal weight and that I wanted to lose 2 lbs a week!) it's been working great so far!
  2. I've been considering this for a while but my hubby wants me to find a girl piercer or to do it himself! (he used to do piercing when he was younger) I'm stretching my ears out now so I figured I should wait til I finish doing that first
  3. I've had my blog since I started my process in January! wtfovaries.blogspot.com
  4. My realize band is 11 cc... I think that's normal but also as high as they go. I could be totally talking out of my ass tho
  5. Got my 4th fill last Wednesday! I'm now up to 7 cc in an 11 cc band and I'm hoping I'm at my sweet spot! I'm down about 37 lbs! Only went from a size 28 to a 24/22 but I'll take it I love going shopping in my closet for "new" clothes I haven't worn in years!
  6. The 1 cup thing is one cup TOTAL! Just make sure most of that is protien. As far as the protien shakes, that counts as a liquid so you can add that to your 64 oz needed of water
  7. My ultimate reward will be at this time next year I hope to be pregnant! I'd like to lose 60-80 more pounds by then so here's hoping I can get there!
  8. My doc didn't want me taking laxatives, only stool softeners (like miralax). Good luck!
  9. I sit at a desk all day and took 5 days off... looking back 7 would have been more comfortable because I still had some slight nausea and the pain meds made me sleepy!
  10. I got my unfill! She only took out 1 cc and I feel so much better! I am on liquids for another 2 days due to swelling and she wants me to start drinking 1 Protein shake a day for 2 weeks to help my protein! I can't wait to eat I'm taking it slow though! I can tell I'm still swollen but I am going to take some ibuprofen later to help and now that I can drink a little more normally I should be able to get some Water in me to re-hydrate! Whew, being too tight is rough! (It doesn't help that I also have bronchitis right now...lame!)
  11. So I'm getting an unfill tomorrow morning my first one! I still can't eat without getting stuck on almost everything (even soup!) so my doc wants me back in...I'm hoping they only take out 1 cc at the most! I don't want to be back down to where I was!! Nervous
  12. There is a section on the boards for pregnancy where you will probably get a better response
  13. You and I are in the same boat! I will be trying very hard to not gulp or take bug bites anymore! I really want this full to work for me! (and I really don't want to get an unfill unless I have too!)
  14. There is a section on this website for pregnancy with the lap band... You should check it out!
  15. I have the biggest loser cardio max and I did level 1 with bob and almost died! He loves lunges! My hamstrings were dead for a week and so sore and tight that I pulled them both just from bending over too far! Next time I will not listen when bob says more! (at least not yet)
  16. Hello all! I was banded 5/4 and am currently down 32 pounds! I just got my 4th fill on monday and I'm up to 7.5 cc. My band feels pretty snug right now and I may gave to get a slight unfill if I have problems when I start eating real food tonight/tomorrow (have been on liquids since fill). I have noticed a huge change from the last fill to this one! All of my rules are much more important now! Starting tonight I will have to be more strict with bite sizes, chewing, and food I know I can't tolerate (bread, Pasta, etc). I have been stuck in the past and PB'd and thrown up and it is terrible! You definitely learn to take small bites and eat slowly the hard way! I still struggle with the mental side of not being able to eat all of the yummy food in front if me, but I am slowly accepting this fact and trying to remember that I knew what I was getting into and it's all for an important reason! I was exercising 3-5 days a week but these last 2 months have been really stressful for me and my workout time vanished. Once I get over the cold I currently have, my hubby and I will get back to our workouts! Inspite of my workout setbacks and stress my doctor says I am right on track with a 1-3 lb per week weight loss. Ideally I would like to lose 7-10 lbs a month so I know I need to get back to working out and concentrate on my eating habits. My PA (physicians assistant) also suggested I talk to a counselor about my stress so I don't fall into to bad habits or stress eating.
  17. Mashed potatoes, baked potatoes (no skin), tuna salad, applesauce, oatmeal/cream of wheat... Those were my favs. Oh and I made protien shake smoothies!
  18. I am averaging 6-10 lbs a month but I'm only on my 4th month and not yet at my sweet spot.
  19. I agree with the measurements! I am a slow loser as well. I have lost about 30 lbs since being banded in may. That's about 10 lbs a month average (which is right where I need to be to make my goal of 120-130 lbs in one year). My first 20 lbs I didn't feel like I had lost anything but people could notice. Well I hit a plateau after that and was really frustrated. I took my measurements 2 months in and I had lost 5 inches from my waist and 7 from my thighs! You may not notice the changes right away but the measurents don't lie
  20. My local newspaper had a great article with low fat eady snacks last week. You can check it out here: http://www.thestarpress.com/article/20110807/DISH/108070317/Snack-time-can-still-healthy
  21. Hey! I just wanted to say congrats!!! One of the big reasons I got the surgery was so I could conceive in the future so I love hearing stories about successful pregnancies with lap band! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and helps me stick small goals to reach the BIG one!
  22. sanction is right! just stick to your rules and wait for your fill! I didn't start really losing weight until I got my first fill and then I plateaued at 20 lbs and it took me a while to get to my 30lb mark (due to stress and lack of exercise). Just stay diligent and DO NOT OVER EAT
  23. I posted on my blog about this a bit ago but I will share with you as well! My nutritionist has me eating MEALS at 7a, 11a, and 7p with a snack around 3p. This really helps to stretch out my meals and control the hunger (because if you wait until you're starving you will overeat!) She also said at my 2 month checkup that she would be okay if I never had another protein shake or bar ever again! She said she would rather I get my protein with REAL FOOD! I stick with dense meats and crunchy fruits and veggies (mostly pears, white nectarines that aren't very ripe and green beans and carrots because I dont like a lot of veggies). She also said the crunchier the better and the more fiber the better! Good luck!!!
  24. There aren't a lot of good pregnacy with lapband stories on here but if you google pregancy and lapband you are sure to find a lot of wonderful blogs! congrats! i hope to be sharing this same story in about a year
  25. I have TriCare RS and I was 100+ lbs overweight and had NO comorbidities and I was approved with no problems! I also just updated my blog about all the costs of my surgery with my insurance if you want to get a very rough idea of numbers! (link in my signature) Good luck!!
