  1. Congrats on your big boy! Glad things are going well
  2. Glad your first fill was a breeze! It can be somewhat overwhelming for some seeing a big needle being stuck into their abdomen!
  3. I am unable to send PMs via my Galaxy S3 mini. Says some type of server error. Just a heads up! The quote-in-a-quote doesn't look right on my phone either. I get one quote and the rest looks like the current poster wrote it all.
  4. FWIW Alex, I think you're doing a badass job of fixing issues and trying to make your loyal members happy! I hope everyone appreciates how hands on you are with your boards. We would never be speaking directly to a board's founder on a true corporate website. (Or have personal board problems fixed so quickly!) I hope everyone is patient with the transition! Change is hard for a lot of people but I think the fixes you have coming sound awesome and will be a huge help to the people that want surgery-specific content. Thank you for your hard work and dedication Alex! /peptalk
  5. Im 6.5 months postpartum and my baby stopped breastfeeding about a month ago (refused the boob). I decided to wait to get a fill until I stopped breastfeeding because my supply was already low.
  6. What she said!! Are you single doc?? Lol Talk about a nice ego boost!
  7. I was at 8 cc before I was in the green. We'll see if I need that much again!
  8. I was at 8 cc before I was in the green. We'll see if I need that myc
  9. Welcome back! I just recently came back to the boards as well! Im sorry you had so many issues with your band but I'm glad you're getting it fixed! Good luck on your revision surgery!!
  10. I think that feeling (going from feeling restriction to not feeling it) is pretty normal just about all the time! Just keep an eye that it doesn't get too tight as you get more swollen!
  11. You can't set up a payment plan with them or something? Don't give up!
  12. I'm glad they caught that so soon! Feel better!
  13. Woohoo!!! Congrats! One-derland is a great feeling!!!
  14. Green = where your band is at maximum effectiveness and you don't need more fills/un-fills. A great article about the Green Zone! http://www.bandedliving.com/public/Lap_Band_Fills__The_Green_Zone.cfm
  15. This was my t-day meal 2 years ago when I was at my sweet spot. I was focused and didn't feel like I missed out at all! I wasn't stuffed like everyone else either AND I actually lost weight over the holiday! (Even with some crackers and cheese dip and pumpkin cake that day). It can be done!!!
  16. Im so sorry about this!!! Sadly some people's bodies don't take well to foreign objects in their body. Focus on healing and do as much research as you can in the meantime in which revision might be the best for you! Do you think you could find a stipulation in your tri-care to get the sleeve instead of rny?
  17. I got 1 cc at a time but if you can handle it they could put up to 3-4 for your first fill if your band is empty. Depends on your doc really! Let me know how it goes!
  18. Normal weight gain for a bandster would be what any other normal person's weight gain would be. I gained about 50 lbs but I had half my fluid removed at 10 weeks and had no restriction. I think you are doing just fine!
  19. That's exciting! Who's your doc? Don't be freaked out when they do it! Lol it looks pretty crazy. They don't always let someone go back with you either just fyi
  20. They are crazy! My band had no effect whatsoever on my pregnancy
  21. Juju, People that get banded in Mexico usually go because their insurance does not cover it and it's a cheaper procedure there. (Probably cheaper ANYWHERE but here.) And I second what everyone else said. Some people just don't get it when it comes to food addiction and being tired of yo-yo diets. If they don't get it and give you shit? Screw them! They don't need to be informed of your life decisions anyway
  22. Girl you are just starting! Don't get discouraged yet! Remember, losing with the lap band is a PROCESS. It does not just happen super fast like RNY! Pace yourself, make good decisions, and practice eating small bites and portions for when you are in your green zone! Good luck!
  23. Hey Indiana people! I was banded May 2011 at St. Vincent's Carmel by Dr. Diaz! I agree that everyone there is pretty awesome. Kami, the NP, is equally awesome as well! (Although the first time I met her, I thougth she was 12.) I'm getting a fill in 2 weeks after having been unfilled for about a year due to pregnancy! FINALLY. I have 55 lbs to get back to pre-baby weight and then another 37 after that to get to my goal! Yikes! lol
