asherje got a reaction from Comicbookguy in Not able to stop loosing weight ?
Have her reach out to her doctor to ensure there is no medical complication causing the continuation of weightloss. In rare situations Weight-loss surgery can trigger rare genetic wasting disorder. If doctors checks her/him/you out and medically everything looks good most likely will ask what the current caloric intake is, fats, carbs and sugars, as well as exercise routine to help modify it making recommendations for increased consumption in certain categories along with follow up visits to ensure everything is working to put them on track to be healthy.

asherje got a reaction from beba238 in Anybody regretted it, even with no complications?
I was a revision from lap band, my surgery was Dec 10th 2012 so I'm about 4months out. Recovery had its ups and downs, I hated every creamy Protein drink, only found one I could stomach (no pun intended lol) but after 2months on them I can't drink any Protein drinks with out wanna to punch someone haha. I am still sore around my incision near my navel, makes it very hard to work out and run. But I do when I can. I'm a slow loser but started out with a lower weight since I was a revision from evil band complications. Dec weight 198.5, current 169. I have more I need to lose since I'm only 5'3" but am healthier now and with out all the sickness I had for 5 years with the band.
I tolerate food better now and still can't eat certain things but its bad stuff I have no business eating (ie fried foods, sugary ect) I can finally handle my coffee again and can eat meat, though certain ones I handle better than others. You'll have your moments of regret that is VERY fleeting when your eating a delicious meal and its that moment that 3bites makes you full and sick to your stomach. Then I get mad because I want to be able to eat lol, then their are days that I can eat a nice plate of crawfish lol. It's hit and miss. But over all best decision I ever made, I really wish I would have gotten this originally but having the demon band hell has helped me know how to eat proper size portions, chew chew chew and appreciate how this is a true tool and gift to have had done.

I have a WW one. Make sure you get one where it gives you body fat %, etc. I like seeing that number go down too.

Oh holy crap bat man. I didn't think about my tattoos. I'm gonna have a withered long stem rose on my boob. And my butterfly on my back is gonna look like a buzzard on my crack.

asherje reacted to joatsaint in Taste buds & cravings
It's funny you should bring up cravings. I was at my mom's house on Sunday and saw a bananna in the fruit bowl. And I must have had the same look on my fase as the dog in the Beggin Strips commercial. I was so exicted to see that bananna. I don't keep them in my house, so I was really surprised at how much I wanted that bananna.

asherje got a reaction from slojo in "Normal"
Give it time, after first month you start to feel like a "normal person" I was sleeved Dec 10th 2012, I finally do feel normal. Heck my fiancé and I went out for crawfish the other night and it was my first meal I didn't feel sick or like I wasted money. It's a day to day process that I'm sure soon enough you'll be grateful you took you health in your hands, diets fail us but a life change is an amazing tool.

Things I never thought I'd say, I now can not stand the following:
Simi, milk or dark chocolate, makes me gag
pizza
coffee
pudding
Ice cream
Nachos
chips
Brownies
I have sampled these items from my fiancé & son and I do not like them any more lol. Which of course is a good thing but never thought I'd say that.
I crave & love
Bananas
Kale
popcorn
Pickles
Tea
Shrimp
Crawfish

That's great! Last week I went to the seminar for the surgery and the doctor said "sometimes peoples taste buds change". A lady who has had the bypass spoke to our group and she said she was a big sweet eater before surgery now, cant' stand it! I can only wish!
