  1. I would say soup or a braised meat. Something soft and easily digested.
  2. I woke up with the breathing tube still in. They had taken it out but I wasn't breathing well so they put it back in which is why I woke up with it in. I was in recovery a long time because I wasn't waking up properly. It was a little scary because I'd had many surgeries before and that never happened before, but I had never been that heavy before either.
  3. I didn't lose hair either. I didn't take any biotin though.
  4. @emluv03 You reached your goal! Congrats! Did you want to make a new one for the last week or just keep it the same?
  5. @bill1130 Next week is the last week! You beat your goal! Did you want to keep your goal the same or change it for the last week?
  6. @ThickGirl5683Thank you so much!
  7. @Walter.Sobchak Thanks! I am much happier!
  8. @ConnieY hmm...possible but you shouldn't have been doing much weight lifting so soon after surgery. It's more that our bodies need time to adjust to the new calorie intake and surgery. Like I said, try to start taking your measurements. When the scale doesn't move, focus on how your clothes fit and how much better you can move around. The numbers on the scale are not the end all be all of weight loss.
  9. I had the lapband in 2008 when I was 380 pounds at my consultation. I was able to get down to 280 but had many complications and gained all my weight back and had to get it removed in 2012. I continued in a downward (or upward I should say) Spiral with my health and weight. I rapidly gained weight and in October of 2015 I decided I needed to make a change and fast when I was put in the hospital for breathing problems and they almost wouldn't do a catscan because I was over the weight limit when I told them I was 480 pounds (which is what I thought I was). I was so overweight doctors were having trouble treating me. I ended up having to go on oxygen 24/7 because I was so overweight it was pressing against my lungs and restricting my breathing. I called and made an appointment at the bariatric surgeon the day I got out of the hospital. When I went for the consultation it turns out I actually weighed 540 pounds. I went through 6 months of preop diet and was able to lose 60 pounds. The day of surgery on May 29, 2016 I weighed 480 pounds. Today, March 16, 2017, I weight 303.8 pounds. I got my life back. Before I could hardly walk the length of a room and now I walk 2 miles almost every day. I had a lot of complications after surgery but I would do this surgery again in a heartbeat even with all I went through. I had the sleeve surgery because I did not want the malabsorbtion or dumping syndrome. Good luck to you and if you have any other questions you can ask!
  10. I just use a kind of weight watcher diet. I use mostly weight watcher friendly recipes. I'm 10 or so months out and down a total of 236 from the 6 months pre and then post op. I don't restrict my carbs because that's not a diet I can do long term.
  11. I agree that you need to consult your doctor. There could be something treatable going on and you could lose the weight again.
  12. Those are not terrible stats! Those are great! Almost everyone goes through a stall a few weeks after surgery. Usually it's around the 3 week mark but you have been losing weight all the way up to 6 weeks! Do NOT compare your weight loss to anyone else's journey. There are many factors in play why someone might lose faster or slower than someone else. Sex, age, starting weight, activity, and medical issues all play a part in how our bodies react and lose. You have lost 28 pounds! That is nothing to scoff at! BE proud of what you have accomplished already. If you don't stop comparing your journey to other's you are just setting yourself up for mental anguish, frustration, back sliding, and failure. You can and will do this. Try to also take your measurements because sometimes the scale doesn't move but your inches go down.
  13. I had HORRIBLE nausea that started 3 weeks after surgery. I had to get a picc line in because I couldn't eat or drink anything. I didn't eat or drink for over a month. I had the picc line in for over 5 months. During that 5 months I had bad nausea all day everyday even though I was on 5 strong anti nausea meds. It got better as time went on. I had my gallbladder removed because there were stones and I felt no more nausea the week after having my gallbladder removed. I no longer have any nausea and I'm completely fine.
  14. My doctor did not set a goal weight for me. I set a goal but they did not encourage a goal weight, just a healthier life style and abilities.
  15. I think it is smarty to keep weighing and tracking even a year out if you can not stop yourself from eating more. when I stopped weighing and tracking I know I was eating more than I should. I have gone back to tracking and I feel much better. Some people can eye it better than others. I am about 9 1/2 months out.
  16. My weigh in for this week is 303.8! I almost cried on the scale! I thought I would never reach my challenge goal of 299 this time because I kept going up and down with all the traveling and not making great choices but I started meal planning again and measuring and tracking and going back to the gym and I lost almost 14 pounds this week! I'm so excited! I can NOT wait to see a 2 at the beginning of my weight!!
  17. @Hazel_eyez Congrats on reaching your challenge goal! Did you want to revise your goal for the remaining 2 weeks?
  18. @jwinters19Congrats on breaking your stall! It's good to reassess what you need to do every so often! @sxynanaI'm so glad this has been helping you! @Torriluv87Haha I can SOO relate! I feel like this period has lasted forever this week! Usually I'm only for like 4 days and I'm going on 9 now I have been carbing it up! SO hard to eat right when I just want to cry and eat chocolate haha. Being a girl sucks sometimes! This challenge is over on the week of March 24th! I will start a new one after that! @Jen-2+1It's okay if you don't reach your goal! You are still going down! Thats all that matters! Our bodies don't always react the way we want them too! You have the next challenge coming up to reach another goal!
  19. @jellybean12 I'm sorry you are going through that! It is incredibly frustrating I know! It gets much harder I think once you get down to the lower numbers but you are doing so well! @Mandybb That's great! Congratulations! Try not to (even though I know it's almost impossible) compare your journey to others! I did that and it really drove me insane for a bit. I had SUCH a high BMI and yet those who had much lower were losing much faster than I was which made NO sense to me. I had to take a step back and enjoy my own journey and just be proud of each step I took downward. @bill1130 You are doing so great! Congrats on your hard work! @hermione53 Congrats for getting to ONEDERLAND!! You are doing amazing!
  20. @BigUtahMan Stalls are the most frustrating things! It is always nice to know we are not alone and it gets better! @rubia72 Aww! I'm sorry hun! It will go back down! @dede0314 You are doing great!
  21. @Mandybb I'm sure that's frustrating, everyone's body does different crazy things! I hope it starts moving down more soon for you! Maybe you aren't having enough calories?
