Hey there. Congrats on your pregnancy! I am also 8 weeks pregnant. I was told by the midwife to start back drinking protein shakes. I had my surgery in 2016 and haven't had a protein shake since 2017. I have not heard that they are bad for you but she specifically recommended the premier protein drinks. I am still in my first trimester. In almost 3 years post OP from gastric bypass surgery. I have reached my goal weight and have been maintaining it for the past two years. I'm a Bypass patient but I am in the same boat as many of you. I deal with constant nausea from the time I wake up until the time I lay down at night, nothing helps, I have tried zofran, Reglan.. Everything. The smell and thought of food makes me feel sicker. The only relief I have is when I am asleep. I can't get in proper fluids which scares the crap out of me. I've been to the Er several times for dehydration and received fluids, they seemed to help but the next day I am back sick again. All of my lab work is normal. This week I went to the surgeon for a endoscopy and he found and removed 3 random staples inside me. He was hoping that was what's making me nauseous but I am still sick 3 days after the procedure. Yes. Things are getting a little better, I went to the doctor and found out that I was severely dehydrated.. Thats why I couldn't take any thing by mouth. I'm still struggling with getting it in but I'm getting better each day. Sent from my LG-H950 using the BariatricPal App
