  1. Just wondering... So the males have a special forum for themselves... Why don't the females have a special forum where they can discuss things... Such as: Irregular periods. Bras bothering incisions. Breasts loosing firmness. ETC. There's a lot more things but I am just trying to make a point. Maybe we should have a forum specifically for us too, instead of us posting in all the main forums about things guys may not want to hear? Thanks.
  2. I'm sorry but I don't think anyone under the age of 18 should be having such a life changing surgery. At 16 I wouldn't have been able to do it. It takes a lot of willpower and I don't think a teen can deal with that... it takes a lot of willpower for all of us who are over 18 even OLDER. Either way I don't agree with someone who isn't even an adult yet to have surgery. Just my opinion.
  3. Wow thanks for the inspirational post. I hope you get to feeling better.
  4. You can have beer 1 year after according to my doctor but my doc never wants me to drink soda again. As for surgery and learning about it. That's wonderful Welcome to LBT.
  5. I started month 2 today. I get weighed next on June 4th. SOOOO excited. :biggrin2: I have yahoo...SN = f.roggi
  6. I have no idea, but your best bet is to call them and ask.
  7. I don't have MSN but we can be buddies on here. I'm 5'9 and 410.5 lbs. Started at 419. So I am slowly but surely losing on this 6 month diet for insurance.
  8. I don't see a ticker for either of you let alone a signature.
  9. You sound like you are doing fabulous to me! Good luck!
  10. I am on a 6 month diet for insurance. But a pre-op diet is usually when you are on high Proteins, or liquid diets before surgery to help the stomach adjust and to shrink the liver. From what I know the best way to shrink the liver is to eat low carbs. As for you I would lower your sugar intake, and eat sensibly. Exercise if you can, you don't have to do a lot just move!! And if you have any other questions feel free to ask, and if you aren't sure call your doctor.
  11. Wow seattle that post was very informative!! Thank you so much dear.
  12. My addictions right now are: Exercising, if I don't walk at least 1 to 2 miles a day I feel like a failure. LOL. LBT, I am on it all of the time, constantly And keeping my calories over 1200 but less than 1600. If I go over or am under 1 calorie I freak out. Oh, waiting for this 6 month diet to be over is an obsession too, I want my band!
  13. WOW!!! That's an amazing amount of weight loss. Congratulations. I am glad you are doing so well. Can't wait to hear more from you!!! Thanks for posting.
  14. If you put your mind to it you could lose 20 lbs in two weeks, especially on liquids! Thanks for joining my forum, and I wish you so much luck with your surgery in 2 weeks. The head hunger will pass and soon you'll be banded and turning heads with how much weight you have lost!! Good luck!
  15. I hope you all find out what is wrong and that she has a speedy recovery.
  16. I would have been pissed that she was weighing me. LOL I would have asked for someone else. I am stubborn though. Glad things went so well though.
  17. Hello, welcome to LBT. I wish you luck with your appt on monday. Most people take a week off work, some more, some less. Depends on how you feel. For the surgery, I'm pretty sure they will make new incisions, endoscopically. They will be able to tell you for sure once you meet with your surgeon. As for skin I think since you are so young and only 98lbs overweight, that you should be able to tighten it once you lose. I hope I was of some help. And again welcome to LBT hope to hear from you again.
  18. This is a thread for all of us to post our current weights and how much we have lost. I'm not banded yet, won't be until around November. I started out at 419 lbs though on April 16th. On May 6th I was down to 416. On May 16th I was down to 410.5 On June 4th (my next weigh in with the nutritionist), I hope to be very close to 400 or possibly below (won't get my hopes up). I am on month 2 of my 6 month supervised diet for the insurance. And I hope to continue to lose weight until I finally have surgery. Jasmine
  19. I just thought I'd leave a post saying that I just choked on my water. Thought you all might be interested. LOL. Byebye.

  22. Stay on the liquids. Call the office June 2nd to see what they say. You have already lost the amount they wanted but the liquid is still important. Having food in your stomach the day of surgery can make you sick. that wouldnt be good. Call on monday find out so you know for sure.
  23. I haven't been banded yet but I've had several surgeries laproscopic like lapband is . I had minor probs with the anesthesia, nothing major most people don't have problems and the scars are usually pretty small. Mine still show from older surgeries but not very much. I'm supposed to be banded in November. I wish you great luck and success in your surgery.
  24. It seems even if we are eating way smaller portions, that we have to buy healthier food. And in turn buying healthier foods is more expensive. So even if we're buying less, the food costs more so in turn we're probably spending more in the store than we did when we binged. Plus these dang gas prices. Dag nabbit! lol
