Hello all!

My name is Jasmine and my starting BMI was 61.9.

My starting weight was 419 as of April 16th.

As of May 6th I was down to 416

On May 16th I was down to 410.5

I get weighed again at my 3rd Nutritional Appt. On June 4th. I am hoping to be close to 400 or possibly below!! That would be wonderful.

I have not been banded yet as I am on my 2nd month of my 6 month supervised diet for the insurance.

I hope to be banded in November.

Hi Sil. If your PCP did all of the tests and has record of them and can send them/fax them to your surgeon's office ETC, you shouldn't have to redo them. Depending on how long ago they were.

I wish you success in your journey and I hope you keep losing!

Hey guys  I'm glad there is a higher BMI forum--50 still seems like a ways away for me yet. Right now I'm at 71.7--I should start my own forum  Kidding! My name is Angel and I'm doing my own liquid pre-op diet right now since my surgeon doesn't make me do it. My surgery is less than 2 weeks away! It's really hard though, now I understand "head hunger" perfectly clear. My stomach may not be rumbling, but DAMN, I want to eat! Anytime I see a commercial or my friends talk about food, I feel horrible. I know this will pass, and I've cheated a few times already in the 3 days, but I really want to lose some weight before the surgery, I was hoping for 20 pounds but I don't think I'll make it now.

If you put your mind to it you could lose 20 lbs in two weeks, especially on liquids!

Thanks for joining my forum, and I wish you so much luck with your surgery in 2 weeks.

The head hunger will pass and soon you'll be banded and turning heads with how much weight you have lost!! Good luck!:P

That is soo awesome

My name is DiYana

I am starting this whole thing going in at 480 Im in my early 30's and I have no other alternative.. I want to live.

How did it all go for you..?

I am so happy for your great weight loss I bet you feellike a million bucks.. just where you are now.

My BMI is 68.9, I'm a 40 year old mom of 3 living with my BF of 8+ years after seperating from my ex after 13 years of a nightmare marriage. I'm really ready to get banded. Been a member here for 11 months now and that's how long I have been struggling with drs & Insurance to get approval.

It's been a frustrating time cause I am so eager to start losing weight. Been overweight all my adult life. Starting my senior year in HS where I gained the first 60 lbs cause we moved out of the country and into town where I wasn't spening all my time outdoors anymore. (moved cause of my dad was diagnosis with cancer and suddenly couldnt take care of our acrage) And having to care for my dad while mom worked. Its been a downhill battle since then.

Gaining and not losing after each kid and 2 miscarriges also, then a long stretch of severe depression thanks to my ex left me at a high of 650lbs. Now down to 440 and have been in the 400-450 range for the last 6 years. I'm tired of it and the scale not going any farther down, and ready to get back to a more normal life.

Thank you froggi1985 for creating this group as those of us with higher BMI's tend to have our own seperate issues with things that people with lower BMI's can't really empathize with truely(Most try though here) cause they haven't been there.

Hey folks! Thanks to froggie for making this foum! My starting weight was 362.2 with a BMI of 60.3-- I was banded on May 19th and lost 17 pounds in the 2 weeks post-op with liquids.

I sure hope this was the right decision for me and that the head hunger and the "need" to munch goes away once I get my 1st fill. I can tell that these 4 weeks of "soft/mushie" foods will be the hardest ever!!!!!!!!

I know that you will have great success YOU have determination if you have gone from 650 to where youar now Just challenge your Insurance and will see the Rewards. I will say a prayer for you. I am going in for my surgery tomorrow and I am scared being 480+ I havent gotten on ascale it has been atleast 6 months.. so I know I have gained.. but I go in at 7am 6-9 and i know that it will be tough.. this forum really looks like a great bunch of friends that know what ONE is going through.

I know I just became a buddy but I am here to chat with any one.. that knows where Im coming from.

Good luck to everyone. and Thanks.

You're very welcome, I glad you like it. Yes us with higher BMI's tend to have different issues and a lot of us will lose weight faster than people with the lower BMI's cause we have so much to lose. So lets all hope for that. I am having a little bit of a battle with my insurance as of now but hopefully things will work out and my surgery will be in November. If it goes past Dec 31st, I won't be able to have surgery and will have to completely forget about it. Because I turn 23 in August and at the end of the year insurance kicks me off. But I hope things go well for BOTH of us. Good luck.

You'll do fine, everyone has head hunger. It's what truly made us huge to begin with. :frown: It's awesome that you are down 17 lbs already, congratulations. I'm glad you like the forum and keep us updated.
