mskim reacted to Bufflehead in Didn't feel full!
First, your stomach is still healing from surgery and may not be sending proper signals to your brain. So, measure/weigh your food and stick with that for now instead of expecting a physical sensation.
Runny foods like egg whites may not engage your pyloric valve and go right through anyway, so again, you may not feel full until you are eating more solid foods.
Don't look for your old feeling of "full" -- that may never come back. Watch for a feeling of slight pressure or tightness and stop immediately when you feel it. Also, look for emotional/psychological cues about losing interest in food.
If you get to the point of burping, hiccuping, runny nose -- you've eaten too much and are irritating your vagus nerve. Take note of how much you ate and make sure to eat less next time.
Chasing "full" is part of what got me morbidly obese, so I have worked very hard to just let go of that idea. Instead, I look for satisfied.

mskim reacted to wendilin in OMG!...I think the first two numbers on my scale say 17_
When people ask me my goal weight I tell them simply "healthy". I'd be happy to lose anywhere from 50 to 140 pounds so I don't really have a number goal in mind, just healthier than I am now.
Congrats on your progress, you have a great curvy body!

mskim reacted to Bufflehead in Is there a way to break a stall
How many calories and carbs are you getting in each day? If that's on track, I would say, just stay off the scale for a few weeks and when you get back on, you'll very likely find the stall broken.
Exercise has very little to do with weight loss -- food intake is much more important.

I had my sleeve op in Aug last year and have steadily and consistently lost weight, although it has slowed over the last couple of months. I never had any particular goal in mind and was just happy to lose ANY weight. I was previously size UK 18-20. So when I reached size 14 (a size I haven't been for a very long time) I went out and had a huge spending spree on new clothes, some of them better quality (ie more expensive) than I normally buy. I was SO happy!
A couple of months on and they are now all too big! So my advice is: Make do with less/cheaper clothes until you are at least a year post-op and your weight has well and truly settled
Good luck to everyone with their journey!

You look great! I JUST joined this forum (I've been on gastricsleeve.com website for years). Great motivation! I'm almost down to 200 pounds, but my weight loss has slowed waaaay down in the last month or two.

Even before I gained weight I've been in a DD . So if I'm reading this right in might be smaller later ? Not mad at all , I might even fit into some shirts I couldn't wear before. Happy days are here now.

mskim reacted to FocusOnMeNow in When did you start losing weight post op?
I lost weight every single day for several weeks post op. Many people actually gain "weight" after their hospital stay. But it is literally "water weight". They pump you full of fluids before you go home to try to prevent dehydration because many of us have SO much trouble getting all our fluids in the first few days. In 99% of the time I say follow Drs advice it is for a reason. That is probably the reason. You definitely want to weigh at least once a week. By the time you are a week out much of that extra Fluid should have come off. I weighed every morning for weeks or possibly months on end, and it was a really fun ride. I'm 9 months out and only losing 1-2 lbs per week now, but very happy with the resultS[emoji4]

mskim reacted to Kittymappus in I need to know it gets better!
I am three days post op, surgery was on Tuesday, and I know how swollen and bloated I am just from the shock of surgery so I can only imagine you are too! Given how puffy my hands are I have the expectation that I will not have lost any weight by the time I have my first post op follow up with my surgeon. Remember they pump us full of fluids to prevent dehydration and gas so they can see what they're doing. It's going to take a few weeks for all of that to work out of our system.
