LOL. 2 months out and 40 pounds down I beg to differ. When I do more drugs later on in the year, I will be sure to update the thread so that people who WANT to know MY experiences can read. Cheers.

We all know this is a lifestyle change. It would be great to know others experiences- not to repeat the same thing over and over again. We are each our own person if you don't agree- don't try to change others way of life. I damn well for sure know I work hard enough and deserve to unwind once in awhile. If my unwinding is different then yours so be it. Hope some more people have actual comments in this thread of past experiences. Jmc I would try the same question in the post op forum. I came in here on accident originally being a post op myself. Good luck!

The first sentence of the post was not to judge- and the first response was just that. If you don't have something to contribute to the convo then don't post at all.
In response to the original post, I have been asking the same question myself. I am 3 weeks post op on Monday. I haven't done anything but I am going to give myself 3 months for alcohol and 3 months for weed too. I just will need to control the munchies and drink Water instead which won't harm your stomach if you haven't eaten cause it will run straight through you. As for the coke, I'm going to a festival next month and will be doing some uppers probably Molly/E I think I'll be fine if I stay hydrated but I'll let y'all know.

Just an update for whoever wants to know. I had the surgery on March 28th and I went to a festival this past weekend. I ended up doing Molly and was 100% fine i just stayed hydrated. It honestly felt the same as it did pre-surgery. I also drank a lot (6-8 drinks) non carbonated Smirnoff filled with sugar (unfortunately) and was fine as well. The only thing was it hit me faster, and less alcohol got me drunk (also could of been because I did not eat). I also tried wine and was fine with that. A sip of beer did not sit well bc of the carbonation. I also ended up smoking about 2 packs of cigarettes in 2 days ( i was a smoker pre-op). But overall, I did not get sick, I did not throw up, I am back to normal, although it took my body a day to recover (which would of been the same pre -op). Everyone's body is different so please don't think you will have the same results. Just wanted to share my experience. The only bad thing was that I didn't really eat for two days trying to counteract the calories from the alcohol, and it messed up my weight loss progress and set me back about a week - because in addition I didn't make it to the gym. My ending point is, I had tons of fun, and I do not regret anything but for me, I will def stay away from that stuff again for awhile to continue on my weight loss journey!

I have been at a standstill for the past 2 months, with 35 pounds to reach my goal of 150. Does anyone have suggestions of how to kick-start my body into loosing again? It really has been a nightmare. I'm going to the gym at least 3x a week, ~1000-1200 calories a day and 100g Protein. HELP!

Yup......don't do like I did, lol.
Once I lost a bit of weight (a few years prior to my wls & the regain that occurred ) I transitioned from cardio to lifting hard on free weights. I simply went back to the routines I'd done in high school with some added isolation work on certain muscle groups.
I was overly enthusiastic and soon had the injuries to show for it.
My form wasn't strict and it was dangerous. The isolation work....on top of the other lifts....were a very bad idea. I should have stuck with a basic 5x5 routine and gradually built from there......gradually.
My advice is to use the machines for lifting. Use a weight that allows you to get at least 10-12 repetitions of each and limit it to 4 sets per.
The machines have the safe range of motion built in...so long as you properly adjust it for your height. Form us virtually assured.
Keeping the rep count up will mean that you are not overloading yourself with too high a weight.
It is very important to go at this smoothly and with long term vision. You want to allow your tendons and connective tissues time to develop and strengthen....if you shortcut this just to get the "muscle pump" feels....then you run the risk of serious injury.
    Long term vision.
I lacked that....and dumbly thought I'd simply pick up where I left off.....25 years prior. Bad strategy. Hernias, wrist damage and torn rotator cuff in shoulder were resultant. Now having to work around injuries because I didn't go about it carefully in the beginning.

Thank you!!! It was March 28th. I started at 240, I'm down to 185 just really struggling ever since I went on vacation last month. Trying to figure out if I can do more - or if I just keep on doing what I have been and hope the scale eventually moves again

i had surgery on 3/28. When i first got out of surgery I had an extremely bad reaction to the anesthesia.. I was hyperventilating, crying hysterically, and wishing that I never made the decision to get surgery. I'm 5 months post-op as of yesterday & 60 pounds down - 35 to goal.. trust me the pain and suffering you are going through now is all worth it in the end - not only for being able to fit into that smaller bath robe, bur for your health. keep up the good work, try to stay positive and don't give up! Hello,
Thanks for taking the time to do our survey, and yes I will post the results here, so keep an eye out early October. We will be analyzing results from next week.....!
    Ashley.
P.s. I will try and 'tag' you if that is possible so you definitely see results, but if all else fails they will be on "JCU student psychology association" page on Facebook.< /p>

miss_smiles got a reaction from IJustWant2BeALoser in 5 or 10 Day Pouch Reset
Has anyone tried the 5 or 10 day pouch reset? Essentially it is the below, and is supposed to mimic the first few weeks after the surgery to reset the pouch and get you back on track, but on a smaller scale.
    Days 1 & 2: liquid Protein
low-carb Protein shakes, broth, clear or cream Soups, sugar-free Gelatin and pudding.
    Day 3: Soft Protein
canned fish (tuna or salmon) eggs, fresh soft fish (tilapia, sole, etc)
    Day 4: Firm Protein
ground meat (turkey, beef, chicken, lamb), shellfish, scallops, lobster, fresh salmon or halibut.
    Day 5: Solid Protein
white meat poultry, beef steak, pork, lamb, wild game
Or 10 day - which is same concept spread out. [Day 1 - Clear liquids only. Day 2 and 3 Full liquids. Day 4 to 6 pureed foods. Day 7 to 9 Soft foods.
Day 10 and Beyond Normal diet] I need to get back on track with losing, portion size control, no snacking, etc. so I was wondering if anyone did this and if so, if it worked. Thanks!

I prefer the five day meat test. Eat all meat and animal products for five days, no processed meats though. If you want to feel restriction and really cut back on your caloric intake, the five day meat test is the way to go.
Alternately, restrict yourself to meat and green veggies only, to add a little Fiber in.
