I guess I couldn't see it because I see myself every day and usually I don't notice the changes. It's been a little over 2 months. And I'm down 59lbs and 39inches! I'm so excited to see where else this journey takes me!

@@wantenergy83 Keep reminding yourself that you can't take care of yourself or your children with the health issues that come along with obesity and by taking this time for yourself - you'll be in a better place to take care of your children. You deserve to be able to get healthy and have someone take care of you for a short time. Be thankful that you have someone able to help you during this time - this is for your future - and your family's future!!! Stay strong!!!

dogs are unconditional love, and studies show that petting one you have a connection too releases happy hormones for you and your pet, and lowers stress levels. You certainly need to lower your stress levels. I feel sorry for you, but your poor dog wants to nurse and love on you, for God sakes don't turn him away!

    Thank you both....
I did call in and turns out I started puree to soon, not due until Thursday!!! Doh!!!
Still even Soup can bring on pain but not as much as long as I'm slow. I ate butternut squash soup with fage Greek yogurt in it this morning and tummy was happy.
Water still causing near nausea ..they suggested infusing it. I'm thinking a vat of cold peppermint tea might be nice with some stevia drops.

@@megnun21 I'll be 2 weeks out tomorrow. I'm not even bothering tracking weight loss at this point - we had a lot of swelling and Water retention from the IVs and weight can fluctuate up and down drastically during this time. Concentrate on getting plenty of fluids (at least 64 ozs) and meeting your Protein goals. Don't restrict foods - eat as your plan suggests! There's no way to compare your progress with anyone else. We all lose at different rates - and have different amounts to lose. Just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing - the weight will come off. It's not a race.

    Harsh.
There is no rule that says you need to spend "x" dollars just because you are sitting in a restaurant seat. It's a service industry. And yes, they're there to make money. I put myself through college waiting tables and bar tending. Never once was I pissed that one person in a party ordered less, or ordered a soda instead of a mixed drink. Never crossed my mind. It all evens out through the course of a shift.
And lest you be further mistaken, most servers DO care and will go over board to make certain you are given exactly what you need to have an enjoyable experience and eat on plan. And then, because service was exemplary, they are tipped accordingly. I've NEVER tipped 20% on a $3 bowl of soup...ever... They'll usually a minimum of 50% or more from me in gratuity.
People should NOT feel like they need to spend exorbitantly just to occupy a chair.

I tried to talk my NUT into pushing me up to puree a week early b/c i was so sick of liquid and was tolerating everything. she said that it's not about how well you're tolerating food but giving your stomach time to heal. i grudgingly waited another week, lol.

@@melliecat I was sleeved a week ago and just allowed mushy food today. I have had scrambled eggs with cheese (very scrambled and apple sauce consistency) and refried black Beans with melted cheese and a little sour cream. I also bought greek yogurt (low sugar), broccoli Soup (Panera) that I'll blend so no chunks, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese (for ricotta bake), and butternut squash. I only ate very small amounts of eggs and beans but they tasted damn good and were tolerated. I bought Centrum chewable Multi-Vitamin in berry flavor that weren't bad (hated the smell of the orange ones). I have been drinking Powerade Zero, Iced Tea (Decaf), Hot tea, Water, Vitamin Water Zero. I've had a hard time with Protein Shakes. I just ordered unflavored Protein Powder to add to food or drinks.

@@markiealex I'm on mushy foods and have been experimenting. My favorite so far was Mexican Dip - brown hamburger in frying pan, add can of Beans and packet of Chili mix. In bottom of pan - slightly melt cream cheese and spread. Add cooked hamburg mixture and top with Mexican cheese (shredded). Bake at 350 for about 30 mins until bubbling. I ate right off spoon. I also made meatballs (without bread crumbs) and heated up with beef gravy. I'm going to make an Italian bake with broken up meatball too. I have cottage cheese and a little bit of All fruit for Breakfast. I tried egg salad. I will try ham salad, seafood salad, chicken salad and tuna at some point.

100lbs in 10 months is incredible! You need to do the work - not your sleeve! If you are disappointed - then do something to keep losing. You still have your sleeve as a tool.

I was sleeved on 10/25 and my absolute favorite saving grace of the last 6 days has been a large crockpot full of chicken broth that I made myself. Just buy some cheaper cuts of chicken skin and all and put it in the crockpot. Add and onion, celery, salt & pepper. Cook all day on low then use a strainer over a large storage container to strain the broth. It is so delicious and tastes like real Soup just with no ingredients. I think without it I would be fairly miserable. Next I will look for a beef broth recipe. Best of luck to you!

Also you can debone and freeze the chicken for when you can eat it. It will be super soft.

I will try the homemade broth. That sounds so much better.
I didn't realize how emotional this would be.

I just came from my 1 week post-op appointment. All is good. Down to 266 lbs (on Drs scale). I was able to start mushy food today and enjoyed a little bowl of scrambled eggs for Breakfast. After 3 weeks of liquids - the eggs were exceptional! We went grocery shopping after the Drs and just walking through the store wiped me out. Going to try some refried Beans in a little bit. I am doing great with fluids - not so great with Protein. Ordering some GENEPRO to help with meeting Protein goals.
Hope all the October Sleevers are doing well!
