  1. Do you eat right before you exercise? Feeling faint can be from low blood sugar but it also can be from pushing yourself too hard and getting your heart rate up too high. Do you have a sense for which it is? I assume you had an EKG and maybe a cardiac stress test right before surgery so it's not something wrong with your heart, but that's also a possibility. But the others are more likely.
  2. I posted in the Couch-to-5K thread. Ran my first 5K race! Here's my full race report: Fatty Fights Back: My first 5k - Race Report
  3. I got about 5 different types. Syntrax makes it, unjury and a few other brands. Twisted Cherry is my favorite. They have a web site but it's got some weird url I can never remember. You have to get the samples from their site but you can order the tubs from a lot of different places. That sounds like the StomaPhyx. It's to revise a bypass patient. Works well in the short term but has to constantly be redone. It's not for people with no WLS though. There's another experimental one where they insert a lining for the stomach. It's so experimental that the FDA hasn't approved it yet, we have no idea what long-term weight loss is, and no insurance covers it.
  4. Scar tissue? OTOH, my surgeon put my liver retractor scar right on top of my gallbladder scar so who knows?
  5. I ran my first 5K race! It was awesome. In spite of my pants trying to fall down at the start and the bad weather. I ran 36'21" which is faster than I run in the gym! That put me at 25/75 in my age group -- top 1/3 finish! Woot, woot! I was in the middle in terms of the entire race though. Which means I met two of my goals: (1) don't come in last and (2) finish in under 40 min. Here's my full race report: Fatty Fights Back: My first 5k - Race Report
  6. I had glue. I've had staples before and I like glue better.
  7. I haven't had PS yet but everything I need to get fixed in my abdomen area is from having babies more than from being fat. This includes the flap of skin between my breasts and belly button that is caused by muscle separate and my panus, which started after my first c-section. If I were still having kids, I'd be worried to get PS and then have all this stuff come back.
  8. I was busy biking and running.
  9. I ordered a ton of samples from Vitalady.com. You can get samples from Syntrax too. I ordered a lot of unflavored stuff and added it to my broth. I also bought Isopure from GNC. They are not to everyone's taste but they saved my butt -- 40 g of Protein and 20 oz. of Fluid in one!
  10. Today I went biking with my group. We road over 27 miles! I was squarely in the front of the back of the pack, too. This is a big improvement because normally I'm trailing last.
  11. I think whenever you feel hungry (other than normal hunger), it means you need another fill.
  12. I was just going to boast about my 27 mi ride. Now I feel inadequate.
  13. There are 3 Kaiser programs in NorCal that do WLS. Fremont, So SF and Richmond. And that's all I know since I don't have Kaiser any more.
  14. Welcome to LapBandTalk!
  15. Before you talk it back, you may want to try changing the batteries.
  16. Tried out the strength training on Wii Fit. Eh. But my Mii shrunk!
  17. Awesome! I want to get mine down from low 60s to low 50s. It was trending that way but then my blood pressure got lower and now it's back up to lower 60s. Weird.
  18. Welcome to LapBandTalk! Good luck with your insurance...
  19. Welcome to LapBandTalk! I used to live in SD but now I live in NorCal. Where abouts are you? I used to be able to see Grossmount Hospital from my front lawn.
  20. No, your post doesn't surprise me at all. Gallup poll numbers show his approval rating at over 60%.
  21. Mine is Dr. Cirangle in NorCal. (I couldn't tell who you were asking.)
  22. Definitely, if I looked like that, I'd get plastics instead of wavering about it. My situation is much less straight-forward. Which is good in it's own way, I guess. :w00t:
  23. Oh. Well that dude needs some serious PS, whomever he is. :w00t:
  24. I have this saying on my wall: "'Obsessed' is a word the lazy use to describe the dedicated." It may or may not apply here. :w00t:
  25. You know, that picture PROVES that he lost a TON of weight with his RnY. I do think he was expecting a magic wand that would magically wipe it all away with no work on this part. If I were him, I'd get plastic surgery and remove as much of the skin as possible. It would also remove a lot of fat cells and kick start his weight loss. Then I'd get back with the program and work my tool!
