  1. That picture reinforces my impression that McCain is obsessed with Obama.
  2. I have been declared the Queen of Cosmos on another board. I just want to mention that in case we start handing out alcohol titles here. :wink2:
  3. So you would rather people just made declarations without backing them up at all? I'm sorry, but that's silly.
  4. I did some thing interesting things after my surgery too. Just ask Wasa.
  5. I agree about The Daily Plate. You can join Groups and that helps you be accountable.
  6. And she's not the least bit smart. She constantly says dumb things.
  7. It's made from the fundus. That's the blob on top. (Well, it looks like a blob to me.)
  8. The reason to wait a bit, btw, is because of hernias. Any exercise to the abdominal muscles too soon could strain them and cause an incisional hernia.
  9. I was told 2 weeks... same as any other exercise.
  10. So you are on the borderline. You might want to do something to push yourself up to 40. Like have a big breakfast and drink a lot on the way to the appointment.
  11. Welcome to LBT! Waiting sucks, doesn't it.
  12. It may be normal but it freaking HURTS sometimes!! Though today I measured right and when I was done with my soup with cottage cheese, I didn't hurt and my nose felt runny. I was in HEAVEN!
  13. Did you mean to post this in the Thirties thread instead of the PA thread?
  14. Personally I don't think you can get "too much" Protein. Did you know that you can safely eat 2g per kg of body weight? It works out to something like 280g of protein for an averaged size guy. OTOH, if you weren't limiting your carbs or fats and were also eating a lot of protein, then your calorie intake might have been too high. But I'd blame the carbs for that! My surgeon's practice has found that people who don't limit carbs and don't exercise are the ones with the most trouble losing. I'm supposed to keep protein to 70% of my calories during the losing phase. It works out to 70-90 g of protein for my calorie level (which is probably a lot lower than yours since I don't have a band). Oh and a cup is the size of a fist. Give or take.
  15. When I look back over my life, I wish when I got married that I got WLS instead of joining Nutri/system. But 20 years go, bariatric surgery was a lot more dangerous so I guess it worked out. What's your BMI?
  16. You make a really good point. Some doctors are so quick to blow us off, but we know our own bodies better than they do!
  17. When you PB, do you go on liquids for the rest of the day? If you don't, you risk getting irritated and then nothing stays down.
  18. Congrats on getting a date! My advice is to expect to freak out at least once between now and then.
  19. For me it works better to start small. Otherwise I get all gung ho and go overboard and burn out. So I started with going to the gym one day a week and now I'm going twice. Then next month I'm joining a hip hop class.
  20. A torilla is a bread though. I'm not at that stage yet but I am not a big consumer of bread. What I do sometimes is put the lunch meat between two pieces of cheese and have a sandwich without bread. Touching the cheese doesn't get me all messy like the lunch meat does. You can also wrap it around a piece of asparagus like the fancy caterers do... once you are cleared for raw veggies anyway. You could put it between two crackers too, but put lots of meat and hardly any crackers.
  21. Hi newfilter. Welcome to LapbandTalk! If you don't get a good answer in this forum, try the General Support Forum. It's easy for threads to get lost in this forum because it moves so fast.
  22. We're glad to have you. Have you posted this in the Maryland forum yet? Someone there is bound to know some good support groups or maybe be interested in starting one.
  23. It's not just you two. Everyone getting WLS goes through this. Just keep thinking with your head and your logic and not with your emotions and you'll be fine.
  24. Have you tried counseling? Remember you've lost food as a coping mechanism and need to find some healthy replacements. That's not always easy for some people to do.
