3 month Diete and Nutrionist Appointment
It's hard to say. Some insurance companies are buttheads and will pick on every little thing. What did your surgeon's office say?

ahhhh! Mistake with insurance
Bummer! She should call your insurance and explain. Otherwise they might deny you and make you use up one of your appeals.

I wonder if this fill is too tight?
A lot of people are tigher in the morning and pretty open in the evening. Generally drinking hot liquids in the AM helps. Maybe someone else who's experienced this will chime in.

Banded Oct 16th-New York In the house!!!
Welcome to LapBandTalk! The site has had a few technical glitches in the past few days so I'm bumping up your thread so other people can see it and answer some of your questions. I do know that most people don't feel restriction right away. It takes a few fills for that.

Do you have to plan your meals? As in, do you "diet"?
I schedule my exercise in my electronic calendar. Otherwise, it doesn't happen.

I hate it when people post just to post.....
Isn't that what we call a sucker's bet? :w00t: I cannot bust you for what I will not read. Though I thought that was the stupidest thread title ever and then someone on the other side had to prove me wrong and post a stupider one. Mr. Mac isn't jealous either. Me too! And Sarah's not so bad either. Hee.

Who had a hiatal hernia repaired?
I had a hiatal hernia repaired. They made the hole bigger, slide the stomach out of it, and then sewed it up. I didn't realize there was another way to do it! Anyway, most of the pain from surgery was from the hernia repair. OTOH, NO MORE REFLUX!! It's awesome.

Do you have to plan your meals? As in, do you "diet"?
I personally believe that you have to plan out your meals even if you aren't dieting. Otherwise, you give up a lot of control over your eating to other people. My thin colleagues at work bring in food if they think they are going to work late, for example, and don't just eat out of the candy machine like I used to because I never wanted to plan. Now, do you have to count calories for the rest of your life? That I don't know because I'm not on maintenance yet. But I think at least some people don't have to.

Anyone denied due to too much weight loss?
I would check with Aetna just to be sure. I have heard of insurance companies penalizing people for falling below 40 BMI on the pre-op diet. They really shouldn't but if insurance requires that diet then they will have records and will know your final weight.

Hello from Louisville KY
At my surgeon's office you have to listen to this LONG message before you can leave a message. At least most of the time, they do call you back.

How do you train for a triathlon?
Nope! I got sucked up in getting ready for Mini-Mac's birthday party. I'm hoping to get up early one of these days and swing by on the way to work. Otherwise, I have to wait until next weekend.

Very Excited - But a little worried...
Oh. I did live in SD for 11 years but I'm obviously not familiar with anything in SoCal that's north of there.

Any one use Dr. Daniel Huacuz-Tijuana?
That's what I was going to say. He has a proven track record of incompetence, leaks, and death. He does way too many surgeries in a day. When he gets in over his head, instead of calling in someone more experienced, he goes in and makes things worse. Because he's killed people. And the fact that he can put in a band in some people and nothing bad happens doesn't make him a good surgeon. I wouldn't let him operate on a dog. A gal named Adrienne went to him for a sleeve and almost died. If she'd listened to him and stayed in the clinic, she would have. But she managed to escape and get to San Diego and was fixed. They had to put her in a coma for a while to do it though.

Realize bandsters verses Lap bandesters whats the different results
Studies have shown no big difference between the two when it comes to losing weight. Since they both work by the same mechanism, that's expected.

How do you train for a triathlon?
I was supposed to go to a gym today to check it out. They have a pool and a triathlon training class but family stuff got in the way. Tomorrow is Mini-Mac's birthday party and that's going to seriously interfere too.

Thinking of Having the Lap Band Surgery
Are you in CA? Around here Kaiser does RnY (Bypass), Lap Band and VSG (sleeve). So look into all of them before you decide. From what I've seen, they push a LOT of people to RnY so it pays to do your homework first. This page lists the 4 surgery types performed in the US and approved by the ASMBS and gives some pros and cons of each: Weight-Loss Surgeries Compared

Should prostitution be legal?
I think any sex acts between consenting adults are none of the government's business.
