Genepro... I buy from Amazon... It says it's 30 grams of Protein per scoop but I only count it as 15 grams and you can put it in almost anything...

My last NUT weigh in is 12 July, then approval to insurance will be submitted...I've met all my other requirements. I'm praying for an early Aug surgery date!

Walmart carries them as well... same aisle where you'll find paper goods.

Sounds like your NUT doesn't really know what she is talking about. I would call the person that does the insurance submissions and ask them about the gain/loss weight requirement. AND you will have to have Protein shakes post-op, so if she doesn't like them now, I wonder what she will recommend post-op. Try the Premier Protein ready to drink shakes. Great Protein and very low sugar. For a powder, check out Precision Engineered whey Protein Isolate. I have had great success with it and really like the taste (also very low sugar). The vanilla even smells heavenly. Lastly are you writing down all your food in a log somewhere (ie MyFitnessPal or LoseIt or Livestrong/MyDailyPlate? You will need to do this post-op, so it is a great habit to get in now to see how many calories, protein, fat and carbs you are really getting. What you think may be "very little carbs" may in fact not be.

My last appt is July 12. I'm really hoping for an early August sleeve date!

At my support group yesterday, the doctor mentioned this website that gave so much information and clarified many misconceptions about bariatric surgery and surgeons. I thought people might find this site enlightening.

Thank you all for your responses. I was told to keep a journal, but honestly I haven't seen the point...5 months into this thing, and only once has it been looked at...that was at my second weigh in. My weight has been on point at every month. They don't want me to lose any weight...my BMI is 40 & I have no co-morbidities. I can't risk going below that 40 BMI!
Plus I've been slacking on the journaling...haven't been tracking as diligently as I had been. Wondering if it's even worth it the effort.

I'm incredibly excited and I have to share this with someone who will understand! I was sleeved on May 18th and since then I've lost around 16 pounds. The scale hasn't moved in almost a week though and I've been wanted to add in exercise so I thought now would be a great time to do so. I've had an elliptical for a couple of years and I finally got back on it a few days ago. Tonight when I was on it it hit me - I wasn't out of breath! Before my surgery when I would get on it (a year or two ago) I was out of breath within five minutes and the rest of my workout was a huge struggle. Tonight when I was almost finished I realized my chest wasn't on fire! I think I'm more excited about this than the weight I've lost!! Anyways just wanted to share with my fellow sleevers!
