  1. Wow!! So happy for you!! That's fantastic!! You look GREAT!
  2. I would have LOVED to have received a DVD of my surgery! :-)
  3. Hope you've had some relief by now, but I just had this same problem last week...it wasn't until I warmed up my prune juice (5 oz) did I have SUCCESS! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  4. Walmart carries them as well... same aisle where you'll find paper goods.
  5. My last appt is July 12. I'm really hoping for an early August sleeve date!
  6. Thank you all for your responses. I was told to keep a journal, but honestly I haven't seen the point...5 months into this thing, and only once has it been looked at...that was at my second weigh in. My weight has been on point at every month. They don't want me to lose any weight...my BMI is 40 & I have no co-morbidities. I can't risk going below that 40 BMI! Plus I've been slacking on the journaling...haven't been tracking as diligently as I had been. Wondering if it's even worth it the effort.
  7. Were any of you required to turn over your entire 6 month food journal as part of the approval process/paperwork to your insurance?
  8. I have several friends that went to Dr Lord, and my best friend studied under him. You will be in great hands!! Let us know when you get that call!!!! Thank you so much for that reassurance!! He's definitely well respected and has a great reputation within the medical community. I'm very excited!
  9. CONGRATULATIONS!! So excited for you all getting approved and getting your surgery dates! :-) :-) No doubt I'll be flooded with tears of joy when I get that call! :-D
  10. All the very best to you tomorrow and the days ahead!! Please keep us updated on your status. Very excited for you! How I wish it was me having my surgery tomorrow as well :-) but I still have 2 more weigh in's to go. Praying I'll get scheduled for early Aug.
  11. My last NUT weigh in is 12 July, then approval to insurance will be submitted...I've met all my other requirements. I'm praying for an early Aug surgery date!
  12. Simply FABULOUS! WAY TO GO!!! Sent from my QMV7B using the BariatricPal App
  13. My nutritionist says the most important thing we need is niacin some of the ones I've looked at do not have that and also I read somewhere else that someone ended up back in the hospital because of Flintstone vit. Sent from my SM-G925T using the BariatricPal App Oh WOW!! THANKS for that sharing that bit of important info!!
  14. I'm still pre-op, but it was recommended at our orientation class that we use Flintstones chewable multi vitamins with iron 2x daily.
  15. Thank you so much for your reply! Sent from my QMV7B using the BariatricPal App

  18. Greetings everyone! For those of you with GEHA as your primary insurance, how long did it take to get approved for surgery? I have none of their listed co-morbidities, but I have degenerative & protruding discs in my lower back, arthritis in my back & knees, IBS, chronic fatigue & chronic migraines...none of which they care about though. I'm 5'0", 204.8 lbs & my BMI is right at 40...so I can't afford to lose any weight or I will surely be disapproved! I've completed lab/blood work, 2 of the req'd 6 month supv weight mgmt sessions, psych eval, nutritional class, chest x-ray, abdominal ultrasound...the upper endoscopy is scheduled for next month and I will be done with my weight mgmt sessions by mid July. So based on your experiences, approx how soon can I look forward to an approval/response from GEHA?
  19. Listen to your heart. If you already know you're going to get negative push back, why bother wasting your time. I wouldn't say a word. And when they notice the new slender you, that's when you tell them. :-) All the very best to you! Much success! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
