jmabry...I understand what you are saying about waiting for test/lab results....I'm impatient when it comes to that....lol. Hope you get good results and some answers!

I had elevated liver enzymes and in fact, I’m 18 months out from surgery and they may still fluctuate. My oncologist was concerned and made me get a Petscan last November and all was clear. I just had an MRI of my abdomen and all was clear. So sometimes they fluctuate a lot but it may not mean anything bad.

Just had the scan of my liver. She also scanned my gallbladder. They said I should get results early next week since it is a holiday.

Just had my RNY this morning. I was definitely prepared to experience a lot of pain and discomfort. But let me tell y’all...i feel amazing!! Hardly any pain, no nausea, not much gas. So those who have surgeries coming up, DONT BE AFRAID! I am your reassurance that not every story is a horror story. Be brave and remember that it’s so worth it! So blessed!

I can relate to all the body issues you describe--saggy butt, deflated boobs, skin I tuck into my pants...a face that looks older...BUT I LOVE my body! I love what it can DO that it never could before!! Running (15 miles today), yoga (handstands!), swimming and cycling (triathlons), heck just walking up flights of stairs or around the block! Fitting into airline and movie theatre and lobby seats with room to spare, fitting well behind the steering wheel, fitting into an off the rack size 4 easily and consistently. LOVE my new body for sure. And I look great in clothes

YES, YES and YES! I hate my body too but I love my life. I guess it's an even trade.

Yup, I've made it to the four-month point. About 105 lbs down since the start, about 65 since surgery on August 4. I can confirm that it does get better each week! I feel like I hit a turning point in terms of getting closer to feeling "normal." I'm still cautiously introducing new foods and fine tuning my sense of fullness so I stop before I get uncomfortable (or sick.) I learned a good lesson this past week about why you must eat all your Proteins first: I was having a meeting in a cafe and was hungry for lunch so I ordered a kale salad. It was my first time having raw kale, with regular dressing on the side, but I was thrilled when I was able to eat it, no problem. However, I remained incredibly full for the rest of the day, and unable to eat anything else. I guess it just took a looooooonnnnngggg time to digest.
I also have healed other physical issues well enough to take a fitness class. When I was about 5 years old, I was kicked out of a ballet class because I was too fat (this was well before the days when everyone had a chance to participate!). So the first class I took now was a Barre Conditioning. It felt like a little redemption. I may be a ballerina yet!!

I looked to see if there was a thread created for healthy vegan/vegetarian recipes. I didn't see any on the first page, so I created one here. Notice I noted HEALTHY...because we all know there are unhealthy ways of eating vegan/vegetarian diet. My surgery was the same day. I was 402 on surgery day and today I''m 333. 69 pounds down and more to go. But I am happy with my results, as you should be pleased with yours.

How's everyone doing? My RNY was July 25, 2017 ... When I began this journey in January I weighed 244 ... I'm down 44 lbs since January, 36 since 2 wks before surgery and 27 since surgery ... I definitely consider myself a slow loser and am going to have to work for every ounce I have to lose ... how's everyone else feeling or doing?

I'm another person who had surgery on 7/25. Doing well, still some lingering pain but nothing that needs tylenol let alone opiates. Still feeling tired and a little wore down. Down 30lbs!

I had Gastric Sleeve on July 25 also. I had a post op infection that put me back in the hospital for 5 days a week after my surgery.

I am recovering but still on antibiotics. I've lost 34 pounds so far.

Hi all....I had my surgery on the 25th of July and am doing really good! I healed nicely and went back to work on light duty after 2 and a half weeks. My surgeon and other docs are happy with my healing and progress so far. It's difficult for me to remember to eat slow and with small bites and to sip not gulp my water/drinks, but I'm working on it!
How are the rest of you doing?

I had my surgery on Tuesday, left the hospital on Thursday, and have been home recuperating! I am doing well and feeling better each day. Thanks for all of the positive thoughts....much appreciated!
