Congrats! You are inspiring.

Oops! Drank with my food.
Actually, 90% of digestion and food absorption occurs in the small intestines... not the stomach! Drinking with meals takes up limited space that you need for that meal. It also makes the stomach empty faster, which will leave you hungrier sooner.

Severe Reflux!
Have you asked your surgeon or regular MD? Have you taken the same one consistently twice a day for a least a week? PPIs like Omeprazole are a preventative rather than a treatment... and can take days, to reduce the acid. Rolaids might help too until it is under control. I take the Omeprazole and it works like a charm for me. I had to take them twice a day the first few months or I still got some overproduction of acid, but once a day is doing the trick now. Hopefully you find what works.

How to make foods that are sleeve friendly
I used a lot of ground turkey. Add some taco seasoning and it makes tasty taco meat... sprinkle with some cheese and salsa and make a shell-less taco. A spoonful of the taco meat is good on those refried Beans too!

sleeve success after revision from band with Gerd
I am losing slowly, but losing. I lost slowly with the band too... 60 lbs the first year, then another 20 lbs to reach goal the first part of the next year. I kept it off for several years until band issues resulted in an empty band... and then the weight just crept back up! I should add that I have always been a very very slow loser, so like most things your mileage will vary! It will definitely stop any regain of your current success, and make it easier to maintain. My surgeon's coordinator is also a band to sleeve revision, and said that it is common for band revision to lose slower... I have no idea why. I am losing faster than I did with the band though.

Dangerous Diet Myth #2
Absolutely! Jerkey is one of my favorites. I have had popcorn several times though. The SmartPop by Orville Redenbacher has 100 calories and 19 carbs for 5 cups. I measured out a single cup, and gave my DH the rest. That cup of popcorn logs in at 20 calories and 5 carbs... it worked into my day just fine as a planned treat! The key is to not eat the whole bag, which I don't even think would be possible now!

Steak?
I love love love a good medium/medium rare steak! I couldn't tolerate steak for the first 2-3 months, but YES steak is do-able for me now. In fact, we had bacon wrapped filets last night, and I can eat almost half of a 6oz one LOL! Leftovers are guarded and used for lunch the next day!

Why cream soups over light soups
That puzzled me as well. I just pureed anything that sounded good. Cream of chicken, Cream of Mushroom, Bean and Bacon were my faves (for one week). I don't understand the fat-free/cream designation I guess... it seems like an oxymoron! I just did soup and tons of VitaminWaterZero, teas, Water, etc... and made it to Surgery day.

My fitness pal portion sizes ...
Use decimals! If the serving is listed as half a cup and I only measured out 2 oz for my meal... I would enter .5 so it is just half the half cup... or a fourth of a cup. It works really well on full cup portions... just use .25 or what fits. I have even opened a separate tab to use a conversion calculator ; )

Post op 4 days need help
Yes! I was expecting to have the magical "no hunger". I also felt like I had true gnawing knotted hunger pangs. Not boredom... hunger. I upped my Omeprazole to twice a day and it literally stopped the hunger feelings. I also was able to start on fuller liguids at day 7... so that may have played a role as well. pureed Soups, yogurt, and sugarfree pudding were heavenly at that point. Just know that this stage will pass in a matter of days, be it 7 days or 14 days, you will soon be progressing to the next stage of foods and be able to have some smart filling options. Hang in there!

For the ladies....Was your cycle messed up after surgery?
Yes! It stopped completely when I had Lapband removal surgery in Oct 2014. I had missed one period in 2014 and thought that I might be in the beginnings of menopause. I had my period the week I had my Lapband removed... and haven't had one since. I thought the Sleeve might make some hormones kick in... but nope, haven't even spotted in one year. I am so glad to be done with that mess, but think it is a little odd to be in full menopause at 48.

Help
At 5 weeks I was eating mostly soft foods, and incorporating more solids. I weighed 2oz of solids when I started adding them (per MY dr.'s guidelines)... which helped me immensely from over estimating my capacity for them. They are much more filling and dense than the softer foods. I didn't add red meat until about 2 months, but some people can digest it easily very early on. Some things I remember being easy and satisfying: chicken salad or tuna salad, Tilipia or any baked fish, Scrambled egg with cheese and salsa, Ground turkey made into taco meat and chili, shrimp and scallops, cottage cheese, zuchinni noodles with ground turkey spaghetti sauce rotisserie chicken was really moist and easy for me Deli sliced turkey breast or chicken rolled up with half slice of cheese, mini-quiches... egg, sausage, cheese baked in mini muffin tins Cauliflower mashed with cream cheese and bacon bits As @@Inner Surfer Girl asked, are you taking a PPI? If I don't take Omeprazole I get a gurgling rumbling feeling that mimics hunger pains. I also feel bubbly and burpy, and sometimes downright nauseated, when eating or drinking if I am not consistently taking it.
