I am close to a year out and can have about 2.... Any more and I act like an idiot. I am a cheap date. I didn't drink much until I was at my personal goal.

I always like it when you're in a thread and someone totally thread Jack's with a random question about themselves that has nothing to do with the topic. Here's an example:
*Thread about goal weight*
Person 1: " I'd like to get to 130"
Person 2: "I haven't really set a goal weight"
Thread jacker: "I'm 2 weeks out and really having trouble eating and drinking because it hurts when I swallow. Why does it still hurt?"
Now, I understand they may feel they have everyone's undevided attention to address the question, but for God sakes START A NEW THREAD.
Okay, rant over

I'm not sure I have anything helpful to offer because the comments you've quoted are ridiculously rude and hurtful. Family or not, I don't associate with people who behave like that with me anymore. I will say something like "I'm going to assume you didn't mean to be hurtful or rude with that comment, so here's your one chance to try that again before I walk away." The follow-through is necessary or they just won't get it. I have family members who I haven't spoken to in years because they've been awful to me, and I believe you teach people how to treat you. If they truly care about maintaining a relationship with you, they'll apologize and start thinking twice about what they say to you, or at least will try to make amends after you disassociate with them for a few months. I no longer have room in my life for toxic people, whether or not they are related to me.

ocgirl15 reacted to LisaMergs in Recommended calorie intake
I'm sorry... But as a lap band patient, I keep seeing you post about bypass and sleeves and I tend to disagree with pretty much everything you're saying.
In NO world does ANY NUT or Doctor recommend 300-600 calories a day for the first three months. NEVER EVER EVER.
IF you want to pass information along, please say "in my opinion", or "I THINK", or "I may have heard..."
But to the pre-op and newly post op sleeves and bypass patients--
This is false information. One Protein shake by J Robb is 110 cal mixed with one cup of skim milk is 91 cal for a total of 201 cal. Are you telling me that at 2-3 months all a person is consuming is 1 1/2 to 2 shakes??? Nothing else???
Please please be careful. People will read your posts and get misinformation.

ocgirl15 got a reaction from MSer07 in Dr. says 40 is too young...help
People a lot younger than us get sleeve and bypass. It based on BMI and co-morbidities not age. I think he is a surgeon just not comfortable with sleeve but wants to keep your business. Get a second opinion. Most surgeons are moving away from band. Many of the sleeves done are lapband revisions because they are failing.

If you look at this style, compared to the balconet, you get more cleavage. Also the way the wires work/position/made is really unique. If you have side boob, it really smooths you out and pushes it all to the front.

ocgirl15 reacted to LipstickLady in Just did some real disrespectful stuff!
Y'all do realize how dangerous this logic is, right? Push it in the gym, not on a newly sutured stomach. Break the habits BEFORE you have 80% of your stomach removed.
This is NOT the time to test your surgeon's skills. This is NOT the time to listen to your body or pretend you know what's best.
But hey. Whatever. Have at it. It's your body.

ocgirl15 reacted to ShelterDog64 in Has Anyone Been Diagnosed With Fibromyalgia Before Having WLS?
I agree with @ocgirl15...I came home from the hospital nearly pain free and as I continued on my high Protein low carb diet, the pain continued to diminish. All of my inflammatory pain is completely gone and I attribute it to cleaning up my diet and avoiding sugars and flours.
