  1. Congratulations and best of luck for a speedy recovery.
  2. I donated 5 large garbage bags full of clothing to St. Vincent de Paul last month.
  3. You both need to see the doc ASAP. Best of luck that neither of you have a slipped band though. *hugs*
  4. A 13 lb. loss is great pre-surgery. My surgeon recommended that I lose at least a few pounds, which could make a world of difference on your liver. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
  5. Don't forget about the Inamed 4cc band. That's what I have.
  6. Very odd....the only thing I feel that I need to have in the house is flavored Water. I don't really crave anything. As a matter of fact, I threw away 3/4 of one of those no-bake chocolate/peanut butter Desserts today.
  7. Congratulations. I had the same NSV last week on my trip to and from Vegas as well.
  8. Had this procedure not been available, I would have never had another type of WLS. Indeed, it is a personal choice/decision.
  9. I didn't ask my surgeon but I was able to get back into the "swing" of things about 4-5 days after surgery. You may have to experiment with different positions to find one that most comfortable for you. However, I do recommend placing your hand over your port area/incision to secure it when in missionary position. Believe me, you'll know immediately why if you don't.
  10. If you're using a tickerfactory.com ticker, you'll have to copy and paste the following code into your signature: bbCode: (Fertility Friend's Circles, phpBB, Invision Power Board, vBulletin...) Alternately, if you're using a tickercentral.com ticker, you'll have to the use the following code: phpBB & other BB Code boards Once you've created your ticker on either site, you'll be provided with these codes. :scared:
  11. I'm happy to hear that you're feeling better about being a newbie. :scared: I'm still relatively a newbie as well. I joined 2 months prior to you.
  12. Starting Weight: 236 Goal Weight: 216 I met my goal early!!
  13. Best of luck on an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery.
  14. Congratulations! I was also self-pay and I don't regret it for one second.
  15. I have so many things to be happy about. Here are 10 to start. 1) I have a wonderful, loving, supportive husband who thinks I've ALWAYS been hot. 2) I have great friends and a loving family. 3) I met my Rabbits and Turtles United Challenge goal early (yesterday). 4) I'm finally past the halfway point to my goal weight! 5) I've had no complications with my band. 6) I'm averaging a loss of 2.5 lbs. per week. 7) I'm finally over my nasty cold. 8) I got to sing karaoke last night. 9) My step-son is a great kid. 10) I'm happy to have found LBT.
  16. Congratulations!! I was stoked when I reached the 50 lbs. lost mark too.
  17. Indeed, it is amazing. The cool thing is that I don't feel deprived or hungry. :couch2:
  18. It should be fine. However, if it gets red, swollen and hot, call your doctor.
  19. Oh my God, it smells sooooooo good. :couch2: Just the smell alone was well worth the $12.50.
  20. Has anyone used this to help rejuvenate/renew the loose skin that sometimes happens with WLS? I bought some the other day and have been using it ever since. It feels great but I wonder if it really works. Any thoughts?
  21. This is a typical day for me: Breakfast - 16 oz. Protein shake lunch - 2 slices of lunch meat and maybe some watermelon dinner - 1/3 of a Stouffer's Lean Cuisine dinner
  22. There's also a Dr. Emma Patterson out of Portland. I've heard nothing but good things about her. Best of luck to you.
  23. Darcey - I'm originally from Central Oregon and have known Dr. Koning for 15+ years. I've never been to him for any medical reason but know of many who have. He has a reputation for horrible bedside manner. I'm sure that his surgical skills are fine but I don't know if bedside manner is of any importance to you. Best of luck to you. FYI - from my understanding, he does have a medical partner at his facility that also does bariatric surgeries. You may wish to check into this option as well.
  24. I'll join your challenge. I never enter the other challenges for prizes or to be the big winner. I, like you, just enjoy seeing my progress. Best of luck to everyone.
