  1. Oh my goodness, how could I have forgotten mozzarella and provolone? I swear, my CRS is getting worse every day!! Hee hee.
  2. Cool  I prefer brie, havarti, colby jack, american and mild cheddar, in that order. Oops, I almost forgot pepperjack!! Yum!
  3. Anyone else have a fondness for it? I'm sitting here munching on a small chunk of it....yummy.
  4. *insert standard good luck surgery post here* LOL  Congratulations and best of luck for a speedy recovery!
  5. I'm sorry that you're going through this. Fortunately, I haven't developed any scar tissue (that I can tell, of course). I hope you find relief soon.
  6. Congratulations and best of luck for a speedy recovery!
  7. I too like the challenge name. I also think that adding a little info about ourselves is a great idea. However, I do feel that we should post our weight as follows: Highest weight/challenge starting weight/current weight (- lbs. lost) Does anyone else agree? Oh yeah....I'm cool with posting our weight on Wednesdays.
  8. I also love sashimi!
  9. Congratulations, Heather!
  10. Correction - - the band did not set off the wand while I went through extra security at Las Vegas McCarren International Airport.
  11. Ok, that's odd...while my husband and I were in Vegas this past October, my purse was stolen (with my ID inside), which required me to go through that "extra" security at the airport on our trip home. The wand didn't go off at all and I know for a fact that I have a port. I wonder why it goes off for some and not others. Not that I'm itching to tell the TSA agent that I have an implanted device, mind you.
  12. I'm averaging between 800 and 900 calories per day. Every once in a while I'll kick it up to 1100 or 1200 just so my body doesn't get used to a minimal amount.
  13. Oh my gosh!! I'm so glad I found this thread. I absolutely love sushi but haven't gone near it due to my fear of rice. I suppose I could do as others have said and ask for less rice and see how it goes. I think I'm going to have some tomorrow. Yum, yum, yum. I cannot wait!! *drool*
  14. LOL....that's hilarious!! :biggrin1:
  15. I am soooo looking forward to this challenge! I can't wait for it to start.
  16. Congratulations!! Welcome to bandland.
  17. 1/4/06 Weight = 236 NSV: I bought a size 18/20 belt to hold up my too loose size 22 pants. 1/9/06 Weight = 234 (-2) NSV: I was able to fit into a misses size 20 pants at Old Navy. 1/16/06 Weight = 229 (-5) NSV(s): 1) My mother-in-law came to visit this past weekend and called me a "skinny minnie!" 2) I can now fit comfortably (with room to spare) in those plastic, stackable patio chairs. 1/23/06 Weight = 228 (-1) NSV: I FINALLY had to break down and buy new size 20 clothing because I was tired of my old clothes falling off of me. 1/30/06 Weight = 226 (-2) NSV: I had to move the seat in my vehicle closer to the steering wheel because my butt isn't so big anymore. 2/6/06 Weight = 221 (-5) NSV(s): 1) Our female bowling league partner told me this past Tuesday that I had a nice butt. P.S. She wasn't hitting on me. LOL 2) I fit into and purchased a pair of size 18 shorts. SV: 4 more pounds and I'm halfway to my goal!! :biggrin1: 2/13/06 Weight = 220 (-1) NSV: I don't really have one this week. Hopefully I'll make up for it with 2 next week. 2/20/06 Weight = 220 (no change) NSV(s): 1) On the plane to and from Vegas last week, I didn't have to struggle to secure my seatbelt, but rather had 6-8 inches of slack. 2) My hips didn't spread into the seats next to me causing the armrests to lift up. 3) My husband said he saw several men in Vegas checking out my ass!! LOL 2/27/06 Weight = 216 (-4) I met my personal goal early, on the 23rd. NSV: I fit into (and purchased, of course) a pair of size 16 jeans today!
  18. Congratulations and best of luck for a speedy recovery.
  19. You're well prepared, like I was. But, please don't be nervous. This surgery is a breeze. I know it's easier said than done but you'll understand once you're home and recovering. *hugs*
  20. I don't doubt that you understand. I think we're just trying to reiterate what you already know. If I am thirsty during a meal, I will take a very, very small sip of something just to quench my thirst. Believe me, I was one that drank during every meal but found that after surgery, it wasn't as hard of a transition as I had expected. I suppose you should just take it meal-by-meal and see what your level of thirst is.
  21. As La_madam mentioned above, once you've consumed Protein and are full, you're going to have a hard time drinking anything. It truly does hurt. Additionally, drinking while eating defeats the purpose of the band as it flushes the food in your new stoma into the larger part of your stomach, causing you to be hungry sooner than you should be. However, if you're constantly on the go requiring fast food stops rather than planning meals, I suggest the following: Wendy's small chili Wendy's side salad Taco Bell pintos and cheese McDonald's yogurt and granola Burger King 6-piece chicken fries (I try to avoid these 'cause they're deep-fried but I've had them on occasion) Once banded, with proper restriction, you're going to have a very hard time eating a grilled chicken sandwich (or chicken at all) so the portions above may just be perfect for you. Best of luck to you.
  22. I agree. That's a great idea. I kept a few things.....my biggest pair of pants and the clothes I wore the day of surgery.
  23. Shame on them for writing hateful things about your positive recovery. My recovery was much like yours. I did take pain meds for a day and a half, only as a precautionary measure though. I was never really in pain. I just wanted to ward off any potential pain. I was up and around doing my normal thing a fews days following surgery.
