February 27, 200620 yr Hi my average caloric intake per day is about 800 to 1000 but have read it needs to be more about 12000Cherie Mmmm 12000 calories. Dairy Queen, here I come!
February 27, 200620 yr Jonathan! *laughs* I'm aiming for 800, but typically its more like 700. I talked to my doc last week and he said between 800 and 1,000 is fine as long as you are getting a minimum of 60 grams of Protein per day. If your caloric intake is this low and you're not keeping up with the protein, your body will begin to eat itself (muscles). Remember, the heart is a muscle. If you're eating 800 to 1,000 calories in carbs per day, you need to make some changes. February 27, 200620 yr 600-800 net. Meaning, depending on the exercise I do, I actually eat between 1200-1300 a day, and burn off 600-700 a day. If I don't exercise, I keep it below 800. Thursday night, I drove up to Rochester MN because my father was having surgery. I spent 3 days with my Mom, and came home last night. I walked a lot up there, but no real cardio exercise, and we ate in restaraunts the whole time so I wasn't able to count calories. So for 3 days (according to the scale today) I didn't lose or gain. (course, it's also that time of the month for me, so that's normal) - I'm exactly the same as the day I left. So today, it's back on the "write it ALL down!" train.
February 28, 200620 yr I'm averaging between 800 and 900 calories per day. Every once in a while I'll kick it up to 1100 or 1200 just so my body doesn't get used to a minimal amount.
