Ginger1217 got a reaction from annashere in Franklin or Madison County Ohio
Thanks. I had my surgery out of town and I'm doing very well so far. I'm 7 months out and it's getting hard. I've lost over 100 pounds. I want to stay on track. I will check these places. I'm just not sure since I didn't have my surgery at these hospitals that I can join their groups. Thank you both very much. [emoji4]

Is there any support groups for either of these two counties in Ohio. Something close to Columbus, Hilliard, Grove City, West Jeff would be great. Thanks

Kindle is right- enjoy the time you have now while you can't eat a lot. I am over 2 years out and I have the opposite issue, amusingly. While there are time I look at what other people are eating and I feel jealous, generally I think food is gross. I have found the few things that don't make me sick, I eat those, and everything else is just like, yuck, no thanks. Honestly, this is kind of a nice thing because I don't overeat or eat unhealthily, but there are all kinds of weird ways you end up seeing food after surgery. Being jealous of other people's lunch is entirely normal.

Ginger1217 got a reaction from Amy Wolfe in December 2015 sleevers progress check
I was sleeved Dec 17 and I feel my weight is slow coming off also. Post Op weight 302. Surgery day 277 and today 242. I can't seem to eat over 500 calories a day. Just seems it should be faster. I think maybe it's age or starting BMI. I guess at least we are losing and I think slow may be better in the long run. ????????

p.s. I only lost 16 lbs that first month - and six of it was during week 4. So I was right where you are. But like I said, I've lost 153 lbs, so don't worry - it'll come off as long as you follow your plan!

I have been taking a photo every three months since my Surgery on May 6th. I was sure the 9 and 6 month photos were not going to show a difference because I've only lost a few pounds a month in the last three months. Well, I was wrong! There IS a difference, and I can't wait to see what 1 Year looks like!

Sleeved 12/17. 276 to 249 today. So 27lbs lost in about 7 weeks. It's hard not to be disappointed or impatient. But I'm doing my best to internalize my diet and lifestyle changes - trusting the process to work out in the end.
I'm going to weigh myself less often going forward.

Ginger1217 reacted to tera1982 in confused about what you can eat after surgery
I have been CRAVING pizza and have done the cauliflower crust a few times. I went shopping the other day and found these...I'm in love! They taste exactly like "regular" crust and they fit into my plan. I top them with a Tomato paste/tomato sauce mix, fat free mozzarella, and veggies. So good. I eat "normal" foods, just healthier versions and am continuing to lose with my surgeon's and NUT's approval if I'm unsure if a particular food fits into plan.

Ginger1217 reacted to Inner Surfer Girl in Birthday suggestions?
I haven't planned a birthday celebration for myself in a long time, but the first thing that occurred to me was a spa day!
You could do a spa with massages, etc. or even just mani/pedis at home depending on your budget. Even if it's co-Ed you might be able to come up with options that everyone will like.

I have said numbers before in the past to family and some friends, but recently I decided to just start saying "a lot" when asked how much.
I don't like being asked how much I weigh right now. So that response is something like "consider me a work in progress" and smile.

Praise God m.sexton. one thing I like to say is especially for those who may not follow the Lord just now, is that He is an awesome God and He asks to be part of our lives. In good and bad trials and He asks to lift those heavy burdens from us. I pray for everyone in and out of Christ and just say to those facing struggles with their surgury , post surgery life or pre surgery life to know He will always be there to lift our burdens.

Of course. Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still and know that I am God." "The LORD makes His face shine upon you and be gracious to you." Numbers 6:25. You will be fine. With God, it's always a Win-Win. Happy New Year.

I am so sorry to hear that you are discouraged. It must be so frustrating for you.
I know you are aggravated but I bet that with some help you can continue to lose although it won't be as rapid as you would hope.
First, have you met with a NUT recently? What about following up with your surgeon and PCP. Are you keeping an eye on your labs?
Are you still getting in your Water (at least 64 oz) and Protein in every day? What is your Protein goal?
    Are you exercising regularly?
What other resources are you using? Have you attended support groups? Do you have a therapist?
I hope that you are able to find some confidence in yourself and are able to use your sleeve to reach your goals.
Keep us posted in what you are doing.

I agree it is IV weight. I was sleeved 12/14 and gained 7 lbs. It took five days to loose it and now I am finally less than my surgery day weight. After 2 c-sections I knew it would happen so I wasn't worried. But the first major surgery it is very upsetting I know!

    Merry Christmas!
Just think of all the wonderful holidays of the last that you ate as much as you want. THIS one Christmas is the sacrifice. Next year you'll be able to have your fav treats in small quantities.

    Merry Christmas!
It has got to be extremely hard only being on liquids for Christmas. It's hard enough on a regular day. I hope you can find joy in being with your family and knowing that whatever deprivation you feel today will be more than worth it.
For me, it helps to focus on what I can have rather than what I can't. I brought some of my favorite Decaf tea bags and Mio drops with me today since I won't be at home all day. Do you have Protein and/or sugar-free hot chocolate? That is also a good alternative for me as a Christmas treat.
I wish you all the best and hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
